I ordered 500ml of 100mg/ml nicotine from Carolina Xtracts. When I was dividing it into smaller bottles, I poured it into a clear drinking glass to make things easier to work with.
While I was dividing it up, I noticed the nicotine in the glass was a reddish/pink hue. Of course I assumed it was oxidized.
I finally got ahold of someone at Carolina Xtracts today. He told me that the reddish color was a reaction to the nitrogen they use to make sure the nicotine doesn't come into contact with oxygen. He said it mostly happens when the batch was extracted at night, and the nicotine has to sit overnight before being bottled.
Also, avoid nicotine in VG. It's a huge bitch to work with.
No its not. Kidney puncher sells 10g stainless steel luerlock blunt needles....sucks up VG no problem
But doesn't help the need to shake it like a baby born addicted to crack.
I'd wondered this myself after a previous order, broken down, had a pink tint to it... never got darker, though. I, too, passed it off as oxidized, but since it didn't seem to affect the flavor (i.e. peppery, harshness, etc.), I didn't worry worry much about it and figured it was just the batch.
Anyhow, good to know...
I'm almost positive it's the VG and nitrogen creating the reaction, it has nothing to do with the nicotine.
