80% of the juice out there today is complete hype. The companies spend more money on advertising (and sucralose) than actual R&D for their line. There are definitely gems out there that push the boundaries of what a great e-liquid can be, but they're few and far between. I'll buy commercial juice maybe once a month just to get an idea for a different profile when I'm having a mixer's block. Other than that, I try not to fall for the hype. I would advise you to do the same.

Occasionally, but it's more for the purpose of supporting a vendor I like than getting something to vape. If I get totally stumped by a recipe, I just sample vendor juices with a similar profile and try to puzzle it out.

Buying juice instead of ingredients feels weird, now.

I look at the price of a 30ml. "premium" juice and think to myself, I could instead spend that same amount on 6 or 7 new flavors to try. Or a couple bigger bottles of my favorite ADV flavors and be set for another month or two. It's really a no brainer for me. I just received my 4th order from BCV and this was the first one to qualify for free shipping. (Problem? What problem? I can stop whenever I want! :/) 30 new flavors to begin testing on will keep my excitement/interest far longer than the equivalent value of maybe 4 bottles of average, or at best, good quality B&M juice will. Even with my ever growing, yet always lacking, library of flavors (thanks to you glorious, bastard mixers out there) I'm still spending less than I would of on my long forgotten tobacco habit.

Nope. Bought 2 commercial bottles in the last 2 years, both of them are still on the shelf.

As a mixer who is at an intermediate level, no I do not. Even at the beginner level, I knew my mixes were better than premium. I do accept donations from my premium juice purchasing friends who don't care for them, and typically spruce them up with <2% added flavoring making them vapable, and sometimes giving them back to the contributor after adding that small amount of flavor. No negative feedback as of yet. I haven't even purchased budget juice since I started mixing my own.

I only buy ejuice when I have a severe case of mixer's block or am just bored with the 5 DIY juices in my rotation. I'm a huge fan of B-X and Adirondack. If only I could nail down Horchatatas and Placid, I'd truly be in bliss.

That being said, I probably only order a 30ml every other month to break up my juice rotation and get some new profiles. I don't go to B&M's anymore and I don't buy into hype surrounding certain flavors as the juices I have in my rotation keep me fairly entertained.

Not really but 1 exception. I go to B&Ms for inspiration. Mentally note combos I like and usually buy the best one of the bunch I try if the person letting me sample doesn't get annoyed by my sampling madness. Of course buying them isn't required but I like to support the good places. With that being said, I buy 3-4 30 ml a year

I generally only vape my own, but now and then I do swap flavors with other companies. I just got a bottle of Birch Beer from Keystone. Kinda like root beer but with it's own flavor. Just one of those flavors I like. There are a few flavors over at Coval that I don't turn down either!. Ya, you can make your own, but it's a nice treat every now and then.

I didn't buy much commercial juice before I started DIY. The few that I thought were great before were really let down when I tried them recently.

Two friends of mine recently opened both their pub/vapeshop combo, and I've gotten some 'premium juice' samples, and got to try pretty much every juice they sell. Some nice and some less nice stuff, but it's pretty much the same with trying DIY recipes. And while spending considerably less money I get to extend my flavor collection. On top of that I don't have to worry that my tanks are consuming liquid like a jumbo jet with the airflow wide open/ All while having the satisfaction of the hobby aspect of DIY.

So to answer your question, absolutely not.

Very rarely. If I'm picking up some new gear I'll sometimes put a couple 30mLs in. Moreso to see how my DIY stands up to commercial juices.

not really. i bought cold press when it dropped, before that i bought some lenola cream back in december (mostly as a gift to my gf, but got me some too). before that, i think it was artifact when it went live.

I still buy commercial juices from time to time. Sometimes I'm feeling lazy, other times I want to support a company I like.

Once, since I started DIY about 5 months ago. That shop has damn good juice though, it's worth it to support local. Indigo Vapors here in South Bend, IN...good juice there.

The only juice I've purchased in the last year and a half is Kiss the Ring. (I order 2 x 120ml's every few weeks). I've gone to a few B&M's and tested almost all the popular juice that's out and find I can make way better juice in my kitchen for pennies. I will continue to support /u/bombies because KTR is fantastic and he is a great supporter of the DIY community.

I work in a shop, generally only vape my own juice, but every so often something great comes on our shelves. Only issue is, I vape like 3ml, and don't get me wrong it's great - but I immediately go back to vaping my stuff, because I make it exactly how I like it.

I keep meaning to, to support other mixers, but I just don't. I mean, I've never had Lenola Cream, never tried any Bombies, none of that. I went from buying B&M juice (that honestly I could replicate by either the name or the flavor profile, TFA + sweetener) to buying Vape Wild (same deal) to DIY and making better juice than either of those options within two weeks/month. So every once in a while I want to either support or buy into the hype, but then I look at the half a liter of various mixes sitting on my shelf and I never get around to it.

I bought a bottle of Bombies Kiss the Ring about a month ago. It is the only juice I've bought in well over a year. I did so because it's such an intriguing and complex flavor with nuance, one that no one has been able to clone at least that I can find. I ordered some back when Bombies was one guy who you had to wait for him to take orders, it was the first juice that showed me vaping didn't have to taste just okay, that it could be delicious. It tasted exactly like I remembered.

The next day I left it in my pants pocket and it went through the wash. I had to throw it away because all I could taste was detergent.

Such is life.

Like most of the people here, I buy juices very rarely. I have a particular juice or two that I haven't replicated and purchase once in a while. I'll also get something completely different from what I make to try out and see how it tastes. I like to vape at a very low nicotine level so it's far more practical for me to make my own than buy multiple bottles to mix to my desired level (usually 1mg.)

That said, I've been ridiculously busy lately and just don't have the time to mix like I would prefer. Finals are killing me at the moment. I usually like to sit down for 2-3 hours and mix every couple of weeks, but it's just not been an option for the last month or two. So if there is a great sale or something, I'll buy some juice to have sitting around.

There is nothing wrong with making your own juice and wanting to try other flavors. It's hard to find something that really warrants your money, but it's good to support some small businesses too.

I bought a bottle of 18mg and 2 0's of orange bl'awesome right before my honey moon (it was all I could find) and mixed them all together.

I only buy Sasquatch from Vapor Trails NW. Ive gotten extremely close on a clone but havent been able to quite nail it.

Just one. DB's Brasberry mint. And that's only cause there are no clones out there and I'm on attempt 34 of cloning / getting something close to the delicacy of it and am failing

the only people to get me to buy their juice since I started diy have been /u/inertiacreeping (if you have a chance to try his juice, go for it. he's crazy good) and Savv from outerworld. other than that, I just make my own and kind of forget that other juice exists.

I love the juice I make, but there is one that I can not get right. Its called Pixy by Time Bomb. Something about it I just love and I still buy it, but only like a couple of 15mls a year.

The one main liquid I keep buying is Moon Mountain Aurora 4, it is a seasonal liquid that is "A triple layered Vanilla cookie glazed in shamrock cream" I've purchased every version of mint out there and I still cannot get this damn flavor figured out. I've ordered 360ml of it since it came out this year haha!

If something seems right up my flavor alley, or has a great price, I'll give it a shot. But honestly, the $20+ is better to invest in my own DIY. I've learned quickly that 60 flavors is the tip of the iceberg, I need more. Many more. So, so many more.

ELR jizzes their pants over watermelon crack and horchatatas by bx vapor, i decided i was gonna clone them to help people transition to diy and i had a coupon.. theyre both unvapable. Less than 5mls in i had to stop despite an earnest desire to keep going.

Only once on Black Friday, I think about buying to see the trend. But end up buying hardware instead.

Even after building an arsenal of flavorings to make a few different recipes for myself, I still keep going to Mech Sauce for Ban Hammer. Just last night, I tried my first attempt at recreating it.

Nah, just stick with your own flavors. The only couple of times i have bought juice was when i was at work and realized that i forgot to add nicotine to my mix. Then I start jonesing for the fix

DIY's the way forward for me, i'm clumsy and forgetful, the amount of times i've left a bottle of juice behind somewhere or left a device just tilted enough to let all the juice run out is unreal, if i was on premium that's another £15 to replace that 30ml bottle i've just wasted or it's £0.40 to make another 30ml.

I started DIY because I kept getting inconsistent orders. When I make my own, I know it won't be off. That alone actually ends up making it better than 80% of juice out there. The only juice I might still order is Placid because I haven't found the perfect clone yet and because I've never had a bad order.

I think I'll still be buying VJuice Barrys Cream. It's just perfect for me and I don't think I have the ability to get anywhere close to what this is. Probably the only juice I'd consider to keep buying because his prices are pretty low (~11CAD / 60ml)

I do, a couple of times a year. Mostly ADK, Seduce Juice, or TVC (rarely). Usually hit the big sales and buy flavors I like but don't have good matches for. Still trying to find enough DIY mixes I like to rotate around.

I have a couple flavors I still like to buy just because they're so good. Cosmic Fog's Milk & Honey, The Schwartz's Upside, Centerfold's Sammie, and Boosted by Boosted E-juice.

Other than that I stick to my own blends or whatever I get from friends or win online. I don't make very complicated recipes, I keep them simple and cheap!

I find I prefer what I mix now more than the vast majority of what I already have stocked. I am considering taking all my juice that I know I'll never get around to actually using to my local b&m to start a "take a juice, leave a juice" bin.

The only juice I still buy is Sagamore by Adirondack. It's the one juice I desperately want cloned. I'm close. But not quite there. Meh. Maybe one day they will pull a Gremlin and release the recipe.

Once a month I buy a juice I havent tried before from a vendor that gets a lot of reddit love. Last month was Placid and the lime bite is finally fading after a few week steep. Next up is probably Bigglesworth. For me, its nice to try a change up and support a company that isnt trying to make a quick buck with a trash marketing strategy. Especially when those times come that I have mixers block. Now that Ive tried Placid, I can compare the clones to it as I know it has a few clone recipes that people really dig.

I occasionally buy juice when it's on sale. I find that it helps get my creative juices flowing when I'm in a slump, and reaffirms that 99% of the time, the juice I can make tastes better.

I still pick up a few bottles of Indigo here and there (Eureka), as well as the occasional Cosmic Fog Milk & Honey.

I only buy Muffin Tops from Sloth Sauce. Other than that I DIY.
