I am working on a variant to the bombies deputy recipe that for goes the chocolate glazed donut and replaced the parts with equal amounts of cap glazed donut and tpa frosted donut. I'm going for more of a maple bar taste with a cream jelly filling which I've just about got nailed. I have butterscotch, brows sugar and nougat flavorings that I added in very small percentages hoping to get that maple glazed taste but it's just not coming through how I hoped. As is the recipe tastes great and I doubt I'm going to be able to keep it around long enough for a steep but I think if I can get that maple glazed taste to it I'll finally have what I was going for.

Yes I know that's a shit ton of flavors (and I clearly throw caution to the wind when it comes to DA/AP) but the reason I used different brands of the same flavors was to make the notes I was wanting fuller if that makes sense.
Went to the basics a bit and used a combo of the flavor and recipe tips. The recipe now is:

0.25% FA Joy
2% FLV Milk & Honey
1% FA Yogurt
0.25% TPA Ry4 Double
0.5% FW Butterscotch Ripple
0.5% FW Maple Pecan
1% FA Meringue
0.25% TPA Acetyl Pyrazine 5%
Waiting for a steep on this one due to the ry4. Will have to remind myself in a week about it. Fresh it tastes friggin delicious. Everything is really balanced so I may revisit or bump up the butterscotch and maple Pecan or just the maple Pecan. Steeping should tell how the ry4 will play out in the end but this is pretty much what I was going for and is close to [[malasada]] by 63maui.

Thanks. I've been meaning to get some ry4 double despite not being a fan of tobacco flavors but I hear it's really more of a Caramel type flavor. Looking for more of that hard cracking maple type flavor than the syrup but looks like I'll need to try some out. Thanks for the feedback.
Tfa Ry4 double, or fa ry4 will give you more vanilla and caramel. It's steep is huge to settle down but even fresh around 1-2% might help you. You might even be able to lower the vbic. It can get dry at higher percentages but I think your others brown sugar ingredients and the pastries would help with that. I honestly only get the very slightest stone fruit essence of tobacco from tfa ry4 double. Like how fresh cured tobacco can smell like raisins. But it's not a tobacco to me at all.
too much donut. Drop both, but the TFA esp. That will help not just the recipe but the rest of the flavors to show. Just imo. I have been using the two donuts for well over a year now. 3% on the Cap and 1.5-2% on the tfa. No comments on the rest of the ingredients but I would thin them out for sure. No issue with many different flavors but too much is counter-productive. There is a range for palates but at a point too much is too much. I mix from 6% total to nearly 25% so not about total % but too much and too many. I would say break the recipe into the component flavors (the donuts alone get them right then the cake batters) and get the blends right. Then add each blend at diff % till the balance is right. Same for the maple. Get the best reviewed flavors and try them all individualy and then try to make a blend. Strawberry for example - tfa ripe and cap sweet straw as a blend or inw shisha make a better fruit together than alone. The balance needs to be right for each component and the recipe as a whole. Best this go to new mixer thread (could be named mixing help thread to save pride bruising :) Good luck you have a great selection of flavors so you will get there eventually.

Maple donuts are my weakness, so I know what you are talking about. It's completely different than maple syrup. I would dump your butterscotches and replace them with 4% TFA butterscotch. It's pretty damn close.
Buttermilk glazed old fashioned are my greatest weakness. I got a donut shop up the street from me that does them perfect. Nice sweet and yeasty just done insides with a good thin sweet glaze and thick almost crunchy outside layer to the donut. Greek yogurt with/or joy is what I'm guessing that could accomplish some of that yeasty type taste of the dough.
Fucking FLV Milk and Honey has a strong Maple Glaze taste, like you would get on a donut. Just buy itself.
Been on the fence about that one but if it gives off any of the malasada type taste from 63 Maui I will be sure to love it. Hasn't been a flavorah flavor I've tries yet that hasn't been just fantastic. Hadn't even thought to consider that one. Back to the drawing board :)
I like to mix it 2:1 with FLV Greek yogurt to really bring out the creamy glaze of it and give it just a bit of tang. That seems to cover up some of the honey flavor and make the sweetness more earthy and maple

Yeh that's interesting. Your recipes remind me of mine when I would dive in at the deep end creating horrendously complicated recipes that just became vague undefined messes of flavour.
Imo, simplify.
Donut:

CAP Glazed Donut: 3-8%, slightly waxy at higher percentages but can impart a solid dough flavour with a sweet smooth glazing

FA Joy: Flavour of fried sugar, absolutely perfect to give it the authentic fried aspect. 0.4-1% depending on your preferred level of friedness, change it up each time for a bit and note down if you thought it was an improvement or not.

FA Meringue: Meringue is essentially airy sugar, it can enhance the sugary top of the donut, if you so desire. I personally enjoy it at 0.6 for a light frosting and up to 2% for a seriously overglazed feeling

TFA Frosted Donut: adds slight frosting but importantly adds complexity to dough. 0.8-2.2%)

AP: roasted nut, can help push bakery cooked aspect, 0.05-0.4% here
Alright so with those ingredients you can make a solid donut to your exact liking. Personally I don't use AP and keep the meringue low but some may prefer to use ap and meringue but drop the frosted donut. Make it to your taste, nice and simple. Every flavour in it has a purpose for being there and because of this you'll taste a fresh glazed donut.
So you want a maple variety? Find a single simple maple flavour and add that in. Because you already have the donut recipe perfected you can focus on just playing around with the maple. After, try different maples say. Swap a few things in and out here and there, just revolve it around a simple recipe.
After you've found a maple donut you're happy with and you don't think you can tweak the percentages to be any more perfect then feel free to start looking at adding in new flavours, often in lower percentages just to help boost certain notes in your juice. So with the maple donut, maybe the maple needs to be creamier, so introducing either something creamy and sugary to boost both the maple and the donut or something like a straight cream. Either way, it gets tricky during that final stage of development, making sure everything's balanced. The more ingredients you have, the longer and harder it'll be to balance, so advance slowly with your creation.
