Can I get some help with Rice Crispies recipe? Anyone familiar with TFA Rice Crunchies?
submitted over 9 years ago by waffles09

I've done many, many searches trying to find a decent Rice Crispy treat recipe but I haven't had any luck whatsoever and discussions on this flavor are thin at best. I picked up Rice Crunchies TFA recently in order to replicate this, but it hasn't been working out too well. First I tried Botboy's suggestion in this thread, but it tasted like plastic to me :/ (sorry botboy).

I tried messing with it a little bit, but it's seriously lacking. I made this in a first test batch:

TFA Rice Crunchies 6%

TFA Marshmallow 2.5%

TFA Bavarian Cream 2%

Acetyl Pyrazine .5%

Sucralose .5%

This tasted pretty flat to me; it was okay but I'm missing the buttery sweetness. Can anyone help me out with this flavor? What can I use to replicate the gooey buttery aspect?

I would try to replace TFA Marshmallow with Capella's Marshmallow. It's different by giving it more body and sweetness.

I used Rice Crunchies for a Coco-Crispies recipes a long time ago.

FA Meringue might have a place here. Just a suggestion; I haven't personally attempted rice krispies recipes.

FA Meringue is frequently used to add the sugar coating flavor in many cereal juices.

Maybe a touch of TFA butter it's very movie theater butter tasting but it has the bad stuff in it

I agree after 20 yrs of cigs I don't worry about the bad stuff (especially since they taste so good) but the younger vapors may want to. My 2 cents.

True. But I don't trust flavor west anymore I've phased them out of my recipes. Sad too, I loved yellow cake.

Try using the tfa rice crispies at a lower %. I found it good (if you find a good marshmallow) but only after a super long steep. I tried the Tfa Rc much lower with some FW crunch cereal. Maybe worth a look or try? I also found the FW crunch cereal to be strong and needed a super long steep. I started using it as an AP alternative. After a year(made march 2015)I have a great rice crispies and a crunch cereal. I am currently working on newer versions as the long steep to me meant I used it far too high(in both cases). My two cents. *buttery sweetness is the FA meringue, and maybe FA cookie, for sure as others mentioned? ( I still have cap butter v1 but without that the FA cookie has a nice butter flavor and the meringue will give you the sweet and help the marshmallow and body?)

A touch of TFA Taro, and I mean, a TOUCH (0.1%), can elevate the buttery-sweet aspect. It was a weird result I found when working on a taro mix a long time ago; most of the mixes ended up tasting like rice krispie treats.

I havent had luck with rice crunchies. The flavor its supposed to mimic is very light and if you use slightly too much flavoring, it tastes nothing like it. Also, when you get it right, its one of those flavors that your tongue grows immune to (like most cereal vapes).

I had a recipe at one point... It wasn't great, but it was OK.

Iirc, there was Toasted Marshmallow, Merengue, Cinnamon Sugar Cookie, Biscuit, Cookie, and a few others...

Try adding 1-2% malted milk tfa if you have it. I like it at low percentages and will sit nicely alongside the flavours you already have there. Will add a rich thickness to the vape. Start lower than higher when experimenting as it is sickly in higher percentages.

Maybe a very very low cinnamon too. Not too much as to change the whole juice but to give it a savoury tone. Whichever your familiar with or have. I use cinnamon roll (maybe fw not at home) that i use at 0.25-0.5% in my similar recipe.

Probably would suggest posting this in the New Mixer's Thread.

Id like to see this thread searchable if anybody has any success. A rice crispy vape would be good if someone could nail it down.

it's a unicorn of e-liquids for sure. Lots of people have tried for years, never once have I tasted one that is even close to decent.
