Ok, so this is a really simple recipe. It came about from me testing different mango flavors. First off I will say, TFA mango flavor is decent, I bought 16 oz of it like 2 years so I have no idea if the recipe has changed or not. But basically I got bored of it and decided to try out TFA Philippine Mango.
I have always been a fan of CAP sweet mango as it is sweet and very mango-ey, wanted to see how INW stacked up so I decided to try it out. I wasn't a huge fan, I cant quite put my finger on why, but I think it has a bit of an 'earthy' tone that I am just not looking for.
Anyway. So I scrapped the TFA Mango and INW mango.
Phillipine Mango alone is 10x better than the original mango in my opinion, but vapiing it alone is a little dull, so I added some CAP sweet mango.
Now at 7% TFA Phil. Mango and 3% CAP Sweet mango, the juice is enjoyable and vapable. It was missing a bit of a kick so I added some CAP Dragonfruit at 1% and 3 drops of EM and 2 drops of citric acid for a 20 ml bottle. I tinkered with the amounts a bit. To cool it off I added menthol
So my final recipe ended up being:
TFA Philippine Mango- 8%
Cap sweet mango- 6%
Cap Dragonfruit- 1%
EM- .1% (or more to taste)
Citric Acid- .1%(or more to taste)
Menthol - Medium amount (to taste or use none)
Pretty good shake and vape. Gets better after a few days. I do have some sitting in a drawer to test in a few weeks, but in general the straight up fruity flavors are usually best after 48 hours (imo)
This almost tastes like Mongo Sorbet so I am very happy with it. TBH you could probably cut the dragonfruit out if you dont have it. But the mangos arent really interchangable IMO as these two flavors create the perfect mango taste, for me. Other people obviously have different taste buds so may feel differently.
Hope you enjoy the recipe :)
INW Mango tastes like the kind of pithy part really close to the seed/pit, to me. It's not bad, but it's not the best part of the mango.
This looks pretty good. I'll have to mix it up when my next flavor order comes in, since that one has a bunch of different mango extracts in it. Chasing that mango with lime dragon.
Looks good, I definitely want to try it.
Have you tried this without the CAP Dragonfruit? Just looking at your recipe I don't think you actually can cut it out and have it taste anywhere near as good, and wouldn't recommend people do that. Maybe replace it with TFA Dragonfruit if that's all they have on hand? I don't know. Haven't tried CAP to compare them yet. But TFA Philippine Mango is just mango nectary sweetness and CAP Sweet Mango has more depth but both are lacking in the bright, sharp mango top note department. I suspect Dragonfruit does a great job of compensating for that.
Dragonfruit definitely helps. It will still be mangoey, but not as sharp like you said. You couuld probably compensate with something else if you dont have CAP dragonfruit.
I did add dragonfruit later, so it was vapable without it, just not as good.
A little bit of lime might work, or some bitters.
