Apparently I'm easy to please (5% Fuji, 2.5% TFA Pear) - what's next?
submitted over 9 years ago by xDue2Lose

Beginner diy guy, been scouring recipes and looking for clones of things I liked in the past (ADK Placid, Bombies Cold Press). Ordered some FA Fuji with another order for placid clone ingredients since people seem to love it. Fuji showed up early so I mixed it with TFA Pear which I already had. It was like one of those scenes in a movie where they do a close up on sometimes face and their eyes dilate all slow mo.

5% FA Fuji 2.5% TFA Pear 1.5mg NIC 70vg/30pg

What is that? Like what is it about those flavors that are incredible? I know it's a stretch, but I'm looking to see if anyone has a similar preference and, if so, what else should I try? I feel like sour/tart might be what I'm looking for? I don't know enough about flavors to understand what flavor profile that is.

I'm tempted to just order a barrel of each flavor and be done ;-)

Holy crap that's a lot of Fuji!

As long as you like it, it's all good.

Wait really? I'm new to DIY and I have a strawberry apple lemonade flavor that uses 4% fuji....

Fuji is pretty potent stuff. Other ingredients can meld with it or mask it I suppose, but if I use it above 3% it's usually all I taste. But like I said, if you enjoy the flavor and it helps keep you from smoking cigarettes, it's all good. I mostly wonder if you could use less and get the same taste.

I haven't steeped the new version where I upped fuji to 4%. Before I couldn't really taste it so maybe it was masked like you said could happen. I guess I'll just see after a little steep time

I could see those two flavors making a tasty vape , both are excellent .

Placid is tricky because Adirondack has confirmed it uses a different flavor manufacturer for every flavor thats in it's Placid mixture .

The flavors are Pear, Honeysuckle , Lime and Strawberry according to most clone makers but which flavors are from what vendor is still a mystery .

If you love FA Fuji and TFA Pear (which I absolutely love as well) you should give Botboy's Awesome Apple Pie v2 a try. It's definitely one of my favorite flavors DIY or not. There's a lot of ingredients, but it's amazing and all the of the ingredients are pretty popular for other recipes as well.

I definitely agree with /u/surfisherman on Honeysuckle (TFA) in a range of .5-1.5%. Also, the same range of percentage with TFA Honeydew if you enjoy that flavor as it compliments the Honeysuckle very well and helps get close to the Placid taste.

Interesting , thanks . I think most cloners are trying to figure out the "lime" in Placid .

Some think it's one of FA's limes , others think Inawera , i have no idea.

They are great together. Try adding 0.5% FA Anise to that mix for a beatific variation I enjoy greatly.

Never would have thought to add anise, I might have to give that a try as it's been a minute since I've made Awesome Apple Pie and its easily one of my favorite vapes. I usually drop the FLV Rich Cinnamon a hair and add a touch of a pre-made pumpkin spice base consisting of NF Ginger, TFA Holiday Spice, and FA Clove to give it an authentic Appeltaart taste.

Just for clarification, I've never tried the Anise in AAP, just with Fuji and Pear.

I've been on a 4% fuji, 2% banana cream, 2% fresh cream 2% meringue kick lately. Mostly out of ease of mixing and good taste. I'm gonna replace fuji with 2% pear next and see how that is.

I made up a [Blue Raspberry] (http://e-liquid-recipes.com/recipe/403063/Blue+Razz+V1) that's pretty decent.

A bit of caramel in there might make your head explode with joy.
I used TFA Caramel original but throw a bit of your favorite in there and see if you like it.

I mix inw pear, FA pear, FA Fuji, and inw two apples with cap and FA caramel. All at 1%. Some times I add vanilla swirl sometimes custard depending on my mood. Usually at 1-2%.

Point is all of those compliment each other. You don't need exactly those if you like what you got but adding some caramel or vanilla if you have any at low % really brings the fruit out in my opinion.

Check out the Rhodinite recipe on ELR or ATF. It's seriously amazing. Me and my brother-in-law cannot keep it around. I just made 240ml of it last night.

Good to know. Shipments with ass loads of flavors will be here next week giving me the ability to make Rhodondite, which I'm seriously lopoking forward to this recipe. I have about 20 recipes I'm going to mix up, and then work on my own other recipes.

One of my best home-mades is a 5% TFA Pear candy, 2% Fuji, 1% FA marshmallow, 0.5% sucralose. I usually find more success using other's recipes (for obvious reason, I'm not that good at mixing yet) but for some reason pear + apple seems like something that's easy for us new-ish-bees to mix well :)

I added 60ml of this to my order since I already have Fuji on the way. For $4.50 I figured I wouldn't hate OP if it tasted like butthole.

It's sweet and candied rather than sharp but Wayne DIYorDIE's Casino Pier is a great recipe built on FA Fuji. I've subbed variously FLV Vanilla Custard and FA Vanilla Custard for his Bavarian Cream and it's good with either.

This far exceeded my expectations. I thought the 5% fuji was going to be WAY to much, but it works. I'm going to experiement with adding some champagne for a little more bubily feeling.

I added 1% FA lime Tahiti cold pressed and .5% tfa dragonfruit. Not sure, might be a little too strong on the lime and the dragon fruit may have stolen some of the sharpness from the Pear/Fuji, interesting though.

I'll give that or the equivalent of what I have

I'm working on a Cold Press clone. Best retail juice I've ever had. So far it just tastes like grapefruit. Here's where I'm documenting the process. Would love another mind in on the initiative :)
