Honeydew milk recipe
submitted over 9 years ago by rimpower27Proud Sidebar Reader!

Here is a simple honeydew milk flavor I mixed. Primary note being honeydew with a sweet, milky, and runny-nose inducing exhale.

Since TFA Honeydew can be unpalatable at higher percentages, (soapy taste, harsh inhale, poo smell, etc.) I added CAP Sweet Strawberry to pack more sweetness into it without sacrificing the honeydew aroma.

The FA meringue/marshmallow base gives this recipe a sweet milky mouth feel, while the TFA Bavarian Cream gives a little bit of creaminess.

I chose not to use the more vanilla tasting base flavors (i.e. CAP Vanilla Custard, CAP Cake Batter) since they did not match well with honeydew for my preference. (vanilla and honeydew combo made the honeydew even more poo tasting IMHO)

The recipe is also shake n' vape friendly. Hope you guys like it!

Vendor | Flavor | Amount ------|------|------ TFA | Honeydew | 3% CAP | Sweet Strawberry | 3% TFA | Bavarian Cream | 2% FA | Meringue | 2% FA | Marshmallow | 2%

>runny-nose inducing exhale

So I'm not alone in getting a runny nose from honeydew flavors?

You're not alone! It is very interesting. Maybe somebody with an organic chemistry background can fully analyse what is happening here.

All I found out so far is that ethyl butyrate, which makes up about 10% of TFA Honeydew (source), is produced via condensation reaction by reacting ethanol and butyric acid. This means that water is produced as a byproduct as Ethyl butyrate is being created (source).

My guess is that when we add heat to TFA Honeydew the existing ethyl butyrate turns into ethanol and butyric acid and then back to ethyl butyrate as they cool down? I only took Gen Chem in college so my guess is probably way off. Someone please explain!

All esters are made up of an alcohol and a carboxylic acid also forming water. And esters are used in all flavourings. I am not an expert in chemistry, but its not the ester decomposing to give this feeling. Feel free to correct me in case im wrong.

Will try this, but I HATE CAP Sweet Strawberry, going to try to sub in TFA Strawberry if you're only really using it to add some sweetness.

aw I'm the opposite since my palate is mostly overwhelming sweetness lol. I'll also sub in TFA strawberry or FW blueberry for CAP S.S to see which of the three I like the best!

Didn't even think of FW Blueberry, definitely going to have to try that one!

this sounds a lot like the profile of kilo's dewberry cream, which i adore. gonna mix this up later, thanks!

I LOVE Kilo's Dewberry Cream. Although I didn't intend this recipe to be the clone, it sure is similar and inspired by Kilo.

> Vanilla and honeydew combo made the honeydew even more poo tasting

My two attempts to make a "Honey Pear Cream" using VBIC were completely disgusting. I had made a note to try several other creams next time. I'll just go scratch all of the vanilla ones off that list now.

I've actually had a good amount of success with VBIC and Honeydew in this recipe

Ingredient|% :---|---: Coconut (FA)|0.7 Honeydew (TPA)|2 Kiwi Double (TPA)|3 Koolada 10% (TPA)|0.5 Mango (INAWERA)|0.5 Sweet Mango (CAP)|2 Vanilla Bean Ice Cream (TPA)|2

Flavor total: 10.7%

Mainly Honeydew-Kiwi with Mango and vanilla background. Hint of coolness, with coconut to smooth it out and turn it into a tropical ice cream.

That sounds really good and I have all of those flavors, so I'll give it a try. Thank you for sharing it. I like the taste of TFA Honeydew at 2%, but any higher and I start to taste soap. And misusing it can lead to some interesting results.

Here's what to NOT do:

All TFA: Pear 5%, Strawberry 2.5%, Honeydew 1.5%, Honeysuckle 0.5%, VBIC 4%

Then tasting that, letting it steep, trying it again, gagging a little, still being irrationally certain that these flavors will work together to create something awesome, and mixing

Pear 6%, Strawberry 3%, Honeydew 2%, Honeysuckle 1%, VBIC 3%

And tasting something like what might happen if you drank a gallon of your ex-wife's melon-pear scented body wash and then used your resultant diarrhea as an ice cream topping.

Here's another thing to NOT do, try "Paradise" ejuice by Natur Vapor and swear you taste TFA Honeydew and FA Citrus Mix in there, and attempt to clone it using

FA citrus mix 3%, TFA Honeydew 2%, FA Coconut 2%, FA Watermelon 1%, FA Strawberry 1%

Unless for some reason you want to lick a neoprene bicycle seat after your ex-wife rode it to her boyfriend's house and back.

I actually don't have pear, but I agree honeydew gets gross pretty quick. I forget what company posted it, but it was a discontinued recipe of 4% Honeydew, 6% Swedish Gummy, and 1% Sweetener. Tasted like I mixed shampoo with sugar

I have everything except FA Marshmallow. Is it possible to replace with TFA Marshmallow and if so, at what percentage would you recommend?

The flavor is a little different, and I actually prefer it over the other marshmallow flavors. Since its so mild and there to help add to the milk flavor, i would call it a good substitute

Would you say 2% would be a good starting point for it? I haven't really used it much.

I'll make a few different versions tonight when I get home and post some notes if there's any major differences in flavor.

Yeah, 1-2% is fine for a recipe like this. It's a very light cream.

Totes gonna make this. I freakin' love Honeydew vapes when they're done right.

Just Mixed, Used TFA Marshmallow at 1.5% instead of FA and TFA Strawberry at 2.5% instead of CAP Sweet Strawberry. Someone already mentioned this but it does taste a lot like dewberry cream, which was a longtime favorite of mine. It's a lot lighter though which is great for me. Really nice recipe, thanks for the post!

I mixed this up a few weeks ago and just now got around to trying it. The Honeydew at 3% proved to be just a little soapy for my taste. It's just me. I really enjoy Honeydew at 2% but even in mixes with other strong flavors, 3% has seemed to be too much for me in the past. So I knew this going in but wanted to try your recipe as written anyway. Could be confirmation bias, who knows. But I will definitely make it again with 2% Honeydew, as it seems like it would taste great if only it weren't for that little hint of soap.

Probably going to also steal your 2% Bavarian/Meringue/Marshmallow milk formula for some other fruit things that could use some sweet milkiness without vanilla.

Thank you for sharing it.
