Applricot Yogurt
submitted over 9 years ago by IAmBecomeTruck

So first off, I'm pretty new to DIY. Placed a couple orders, mixed a couple things, been amazed at how fun this is. Haven't had anything unvapable, so I figured I'd try not following a recipe and make up my own.

I like apricot, and I like yogurt. I also like apples so I figured I'd mix something that utilized all of that.

| Brand | Flavor | Percent | |:-----------|------------:|:------------:| |FA|Fuji Apple|3% |CAP|Double Apple|3% |TFA|Apricot|2% |FW|Yogurt|2% |INW|Marzipan|1% |TFA|Marshmallow|1% |TFA|Strawberry Ripe|1%

I mostly went with whole percentages based on how much I thought the flavor should be present, and since my scale is not here yet, I have to do with measuring by volume. Luckily I'm anal as shit when it comes to measuring and doing the science. (My rice is always perfect)

So far its damn good as a shake and vape. Delicious fresh almost candy apple on the inhale, with a sweet but kind of tart yogurt on the exhale while the apricot tends to stay behind a bit to play in your mouth.

I got Fuji and Double apple since I wanted to do different things with them, but when I opened both and smelled them side by side, the combination was amazing and I knew I wanted it in my recipe. Apricot is a strong flavor, even in normal cooking. 2% is about what I figured would make the flavor prominent, but not overpowering. I could probably bump it to 3%, but I'm worried it would overpower the yogurt since I've read that FW flavors err on the weaker side. I did not want to go above 2% on yogurt though, since the tartness of real life yogurt can also be very prominent.

I chose marzipan, marshmallow and strawberry ripe to help tame the yogurt due to their creamy aspects but lack of vanilla flavor. I wanted a creamy yogurt, not a vanilla yogurt. I was also scared that things like vanilla swirl or custard might overtake the yogurt and hide that delicious tartness.

All in all, I'm happy with how this flavor ended up and I wanted to share! I definitely want to hear any feedback or ideas to improve on this. I like it, but I bet it can be better.

I'll update anyone who wants to know how it is after it steeps a bit!

I'd be curious to hear. I have troubles getting Fuji to stick around through a steep when anything creamy is involved.

So it's day three now, and I have to say, the Apple is still there, just not in the same sense.

I'm vaping it right now, you get a nice sweet and tart apricot going in, and a crisp apple on the exhale. Definitely not as prominent, but it's still there.

I'm going to play around with this some more and I'll pm you if I make any breakthroughs with my vast supply of Fuji.

Nice notes. Repost notes in a week when this steeps and let us know how this settles. Look into CAP creamy yogurt, I've found it to be a real good neutral yogurt (no vanilla) with good mouth feel (creamy) and not too tart like Greek yogurts can get. Keep mixing!

I use a base of 3% FA yogurt, 3% creamy yogurt- it is absolutely amazing.

Sounds good, but I'd seriously recommend getting some INW Apricot. One of my favorite flavors.

I was a bit hesitant about INW when I was ordering my last batch of flavors, but after trying marzipan and buscuit.. I wish INW and FA made all the flavors. Their version of apricot is definitely going on my next order.

Sounds awesome. I have marzipan but I haven't figured out what to use it for. Looks like I'll be making a yogurt soon.
