Just wanted to say, I just started mixing by weight for maybe 1 month or 2, been mixing by volume with syringes for 6 or more months. I bought 1 scale for $25 and pack of 3ml pipettes for $5 and man its just so much easier. I highly recommend you at least consider grabbing a scale. I was very comfortable doing it by volume but I'm glad I took the chance, so much cleaner and faster.

Something you can try is putting some water in a shotglass or medicine cup, and then adding flavorings to that water to test them out. It won't be the same obviously but should give you an idea of how it would translate in a vape. This is a much better method than the ol' finger taste test since most flavorings are too concentrated to be able to taste by themselves.

I think the nude nicotine advantage is all on their "Nude Armor v2" containers. I personally would only ever go to them because of that container. Going off of what I believe /u/skiddlzninja said on in the mix, he leaves his out room temperature and has never had an issue with it. Also 15 mL of 100mg at 3 mg/mL only gets you around 1/2 L of finished juice, which goes pretty fast. I wouldn't worry about a bottle that small going bad, but I would probably dilute it down to 24mg or 48 mg right away.

To clarify:

• I wouldn't worry too much about how you store such a small quantity, I would however dilute it to 24mg/mL (or at least 48). I would shoot for a 50/50 PG/VG ratio in the dilution for breathing room on a final juice's PG/VG ratio.

• I wouldn't buy a 15mL bottle again if you decide that DIY will work for you. Get a larger size that takes advantage of their "Nude Armor v2" bottles.

• You are looking at 1L at 1.5mg/mL of total juice, or 500mL at 3mg/mL. That probably won't last long especially if you end up adding nicotine to a mix that you later decide you don't like. (Happens to me a lot)

The bottle is a small, plastic beaker. Not ideal for storage. But you won't need to store 15mL for long term anyways. The method for storage usually consists of breaking down a large bottle into 30mL bottles, keeping one out for use and putting the rest on ice. 30mL and under is used up quickly enough to not allow much oxidation, so don't worry about storing your sample, just keep it out of sun, and somewhere room temperature.

/u/gunslingerduds, yes, that was me. And yes, this nude armor v2 is just slightly pink, but has no taste and no harshness. I've had it since Black Friday and haven't frozen it once.

If I'm reading this correctly, you're buying 4oz amounts for each of those three flavors? If so, you might want to scale that back a bit in size and allocate that money to adding more flavors to your stock. You might find that one (or two) of those flavors aren't to your liking. Just my 2 cents. Other than that, looks like your set up for success bud.

Don't buy 4 oz of the flavors, yet. Double Chocolate isn't that great, and you don't want to be stuck with a big bottle. Get them in 30 mL or 10mL to start, make sure you like them, then you can upgrade. Also, with how much you would be spending on the 4oz bottles, pick up some other flavors from the "My First Order" Flavors in the sidebar.

Alternatively, you could buy all the ingredients for my recipe "Cliche" and know you'll have a good result, while also letting you get creative with the flavor you want to add as a top note. It's a great recipe for beginners that don't want to just follow a recipe but want to do some of the creating themselves.

Get an RDA and a sigelei or IPV device. They're cheap and powerful.

I use RDAs with Clapton coil builds and I just drip right on the coil without using cotton. This is for early tasting of a bunch of mixes I made. I use a Royal Hunter for most of my initial flavor tests.

I prefer to also test "more finished" mixes in a tank and at low and high wattage levels to get an idea of how the flavor works for others.

You need to check the "Atomizer resistance" of them also. If you like builds at lower Ω.

• Sigelei 150w resistance down to 0.1Ω - 3.0Ω
• Snow wolf 200w Atomizer resistance: 0.05ohm – 2.5ohm

I prefer the Sigelei for the fact it doesn't burn through my batteries as fast. Personally I can't tell a difference between vaping at 80w vs. 150w.

I use a petri rda with dual twisted 24g coils at 20Ω running on an ipv 3 LI at 70 watts.

Good taste, and can handle 151w if you really wanna dry your cotton in one huge cloud.

Did you shake it before dispensing? Cinnamon can separate and end up on the top of the concentrate.

It's either a separation issue like abdada said, or using it a bit too high. I've never really tried over 2%, just because cinnamon is such a strong flavor across the board.

Everybody just uses 1ml=1gram. Yeah its may be off by a couple hundreths, but everyone is on the same page.

For PG based and EtOH based flavors, you just use 1g/mL. For VG based flavors and VG, use 1.25g/mL. Since the real weights are usually 1.04/1.26 (PG/VG) the accuracy is off due to rounding, but precision is maintained through making the math easier. As long as you mix all PG flavors as 1g/mL, your mixes will always taste the same every time you mix them.

It's easier to use 1g/mL for anything PG and 1.25g/mL for anything VG. This makes recreating juices easier.

If you want to do the extra work for literally no extra pay off, specific gravities are available on the MSDS of the flavors, usually found somewhere on the manufacturer's website.

I tried it too, just not a good combo. Ditch the vbic and try 2% cap ny cheesecake, or tfa cheesecake w/graham. A tiny amount of a cream makes it even better.

Sounds like you aren't scaling something correctly. I've never experienced this issue. I've made 10ml 30ml 120ml 240ml of several recipes and they are always the same. Are you using one of the calculators from the sidebar?

Told you I would answer better if you put it here, so I will. It totally depends on the specific concentrates in the recipe. Some are very weak, and some are so overwhelmingly strong you almost have to dilute them down to use them successfully. You can get a general idea, sometimes, based on the manufacturer, but there are huge exceptions here too. Usually FW is pretty weak, so you might need like 15-20% flavor if that's the only brand you use, with FA or INW you might have like 10% total flavor or less. It's not a hard and fast rule unfortunately. There is a way to know what specific flavors generally get used at though. On http://e-liquid-recipes.com there is a button at the top that says resources, inside that a link that says flavors, click on that, search, sort results by rating. It will give you average percentages to try.

This brings me to the next point, and it's a biggie. If you are just starting out you should not be worried about making your own recipes. You should find some highly rated recipes from this sub or on ELR that I linked above, and order the stuff you need for those recipes. Then after you make something vapeable successfully, you should try all the flavors you have individually. Make like 10ml batches or less of each flavor and take notes on everything. Try at different percentages to see what seems best, using the link I posted above to get a starting point. You can also search this sub (try using as few search terms as possible) and then sort by Top and All Time or Relevence and All Time. In fact I encourage everyone to go to the main page and sort by Top and All Time. You'll learn a ton really fast and get some great recipes too. Smart to check base by itself, rule that out. If you are trying these flavors at 10%, no wonder they are harsh:) Try cutting in half, maybe lower with harvest berry and guava. Peaches and cream is nice at 4-5% standalone, but some people are irritated by peach.

I always search here and ELR for suggested starting % whenever I get a new flavor (and it's a really good habit to try all new ones standalone, get a feel for it).

Edit: Just saw the amounts. Did you make 120ml testers?

Was it clear when you received it? If not, I would inquire with the manufacturer. Personally, I wouldn't vape any nic base that wasn't dead-on clear. I've only used Nude Nicotine, and have had great experience with them. The reason I ask to inquire with manufacturer is it's possible their extraction methods could cause slight discoloration to the base; I could also be completely off base with that assumption =)

I don't have these particular flavorings, so I can't comment to their strength, but there's a couple of things that could be causing this:

• Too high %s on a certain flavoring
• Harsh Nic base
• Oxidized nic

I would personally recommend testing your nic base in straight pg/vg with no flavoring to see how harsh it is so you can kind of use that as a baseline when comparing your mix. When I first started mixing, I also had difficulty with harsh mixes, and it was typically overflavoring. Certain flavorings have a harsher throat than others, and even though the % seems ok, it's just too throaty to use at a decent %, and you'll have to accent it with other flavorings to bring a desired flavor with a comfortable throat.

Did you use TFA Peach (is that Juicy Peach?) at 6% in any other mixes? Some unlucky people are very sensitive to it and other peach flavors.

One of the manufacturers makes an oatmeal flavor. I haven't tried it yet, but I'll tag /u/josephaa so he can give you the rundown of it.

OoO (One on One) Oatmeal is the only concentrate I've found for oatmeal (among popular vendors). It fades a bit with steeping (considering many of the volatiles are alcohols it makes sense) but it gets the job done reasonably well with a bit of help from supporting flavors. It hits on the green notes well but otherwise lacks body and overall strength that you need to fill in for. Very tricky flavor to use, as its easy to overdue or overwhelm. Fruits typically pair well with it because some of the harsh front notes are attenuated but unfortunately some of those harsher front notes are actually key odorants in oatmeal so you end up in a balance game of getting just enough "oat" flavor that you get than impression.

Try this as a starting point for granola (in the way your link describes)

• 3.00% OoO Oatmeal
• 1.00% FW Hazelnut
• 0.20% FA Walnut
• 0.25% FA Almond
• 0.30% FLV Cinnamon Crunch
• 0.50% FA Madagascar Vanilla (think it contains trace amounts of Myrcene (from ylang-ylang essential oil), which would touch on the hemp seed. vanilla cinnamon is also a pretty awesome combo (horchata style))
• 0.20% CAP NY Cheesecake (about two drops)
• 0.20% FLV Sweet Coconut (around two drops..coconut flakes, also helps support the rice note)
• 0.10% FA Honey (1-2 drops)
• 0.30% TFA Brown Sugar
• 0.40% TFA Acai

etc.. fill out the rest of the fruit notes (banana..blueberry..strawberry).

3 weeks minimum. 6 weeks was peak IMO. No hot water, no cap off, just shake it occasionally, store in a cool dark place. Thanks for moving this to the new mixers thread!

I too was fooled by that one. Tastes just meh, and probably worse than that now, seeing how you abused it:) It might have been a decent shake and vape, but steeps into melted plastic taste in a couple days.

Seriously, with future mixes the best way IME is to mix, shake, put away in a cool dark place for aging. Heat and/or cap off are taboo. Can ruin or weaken the flavor.

If you are looking for a creamy kiwi flavor, I would start with a mix of TFA Greek Yogurt and then experiment with adding different creams until you find something that works. Maybe some FA Yogurt as well.I have never had TFA Double Kiwi though.

Yes, it can work. But you have to make it work. I suggest using a small amount of either TFA Strawberry(2-3%) or TFA Honeydew(.5%) to use as a base, then have the kiwi be a top note. This way, you aren't so much getting the kiwi to mix with the cream as you are giving the kiwi a creamy base to come out on top of.

I couldn't get DK to work with anything. Just got FA Kiwi, it's much smoother. I am playing around now with a creamy mix. I recommend it for sure.

FW Kiwi is supposed to be a creamy kiwi, great reviews, but since I'm working on a diketone free mix for someone, I didnt get it.

Short answer? As long as they still taste good. Long answer? It depends on the flavor. Fruit flavors tend to have smaller compounds that will escape the bottle easier. For this reason it's important to make sure you open bottles as little as possible, and let as little air escape as possible. Creams and bakery flavors tend to use larger compounds for flavor, and will have a harder time escaping the bottle.

It really comes down to best practices. If you are buying 10 and 30 mL bottles of flavoring, you should really not have much issue with concentrates going bad. If you are buying 4oz+ (~= 120mL) bottles, refill a 30mL bottle from the 4oz. That means you only open the bottle 4 times over its life.

If you keep your concentrates away from sunlight, in a cool dark place, and limit the amount of time the bottle is open, you should never really get less than 6 months, and I would imagine you could get get 1-2 years out of it.

Also, FA Joy may help you in your search for more dough. Start low like .25% or .5%. Above 1% and Joy ruins everything for me, even after a really lengthy steep.

TFA Graham Clear may be the biggest culprit in making that vape taste bready. It's fairly dry and tends to soak up a lot of cream. Try halving the percentage or dropping it entirely.

Some CAP Cake Batter at very low percentage may help boost the doughy taste/texture, it's got kind of a sweet oily raw-dough flavor to it that might work well with FA Joy to create something more cinnamon roll-like.

If you're lacking in cinnamon flavor, FA Cinnamon Ceylon is a good bakery cinnamon, but only under 2%. Over that and it starts to taste more like cheap Valentine's day candy.

I can almost guarantee you that VapeWild isn't building a cinnamon roll flavor from the ground up. They're probably using FW CCinnamon Roll. I like it much better than CAP's cinnamon danish, I'd suggest using it at 3% in this recipe in place of CAP. The others look good, but I'd drop the caramel to maybe 1% or less, and the same with the sweet cream.

Okay. You've figured out all your sources for gear, VG/PG and nicotine so part two of preparing to DIY is as follows.

• Step 1: Find some recipes. Browse around e-liquid-recipes.com and alltheflavors.com, the monthly recipe thread and this sub in general to find some recipes that catch your eye. There are reviews and ratings on those sites so it should be easy to find a good recipe.

• Step 2: Make a list of the flavors you'll need based on those recipes.

• Step 3: Order your flavors and bases. I like Bull City Vapor for their quick shipping and wide variety of stock. 10mL bottles of extract are perfect for getting started. Essential Depot is good for your bases, they're on Amazon. One liter of PG and one liter of VG will make a lot of juice, but if you want to mix a lot of high-VG, order two liters of it.

Do you plan on jumping in with both feet, or a more conservative approach, just to see if it's for you (that was me a year ago)? If it is the latter, Bull City Vapor has EVERYTHING you need, except nicotine. Here is a nearly free sample of high quality nicotine. If you choose 100mg/ml, that sample will let you make ~16 30ml batches @3mg. (Get PG-based to start with).

Search here for recipes that both appeal to you, and have at least some POSITIVE feedback. There are some real turds (almost all donut recipes), so search well. Then order only those flavors needed, 10ml sizes until you know whether you like them. Resist the urge to buy large because "it's a good deal". Also try to limit impulse buying. That'll come later:)

1. No. Saying they are the same math is saying that 6mg/mL eliquid and 18mg/mL is the same. You add more 36 than you would 48, more 48 than you would 72, and more 72 than you would 100mg/mL.

2. 70pg/30VG is a bit higher in PG than the norm, but it looks fine, and the math checks out.

Really none of that is needed. Just a good shake by hand, then a cool dark place to let time work the magic. IME this produces the best flavor.

Having said that, because of a bad shoulder and elbow, I sometimes strap a newly mixed bottle to a sawzall blade and give it 30 seconds or so. Saves me some discomfort, but again, not really necessary.

Time.

Let them steep. Wayne's flavors almost all require a steep, and mouthfeel is something that comes out during a steep.

I'm not sure why you'd add menthol to fix it if it was originally supposed to be a tobacco, but if you added menthol it wouldn't need much of a steep. If you added an NET, it would need a long steep. Try 2% menthol.
