Good morning!
Quick little adjustments to the eloD V.1 post I made a few nights ago, with the adjusted flavour notes below! You know how I do.
eloD v2
- CAP Sweet Tangerine at 4%
- CAP Juicy Orange at 2.5%
- TFA Banana Cream at 1.5%
- TFA Pineapple at 2%
- FA Meringue at 0.5%
- TFA Dragonfruit at 1%
- FA Fuji at 0.25%
- Koolada at 4 drops per 5ml
FLAVOUR NOTES
CAP Sweet Tangerine/CAP Juicy Orange - so in the first attempt, I had ST and JO at 3.5% and 2% respectively. After letting that mix sit for a few days, it just wasn't enough. It was still noticeable there, but I wanted more orange juice flavour to push through the banana cream. Upping both flavours by 0.5% seems to have helped immensely. Still get the great orange juice flavour, it just holds its ground a bit better now.
TFA Banana Cream - no changes here, but you could definitely drop this down to 1.25% or 1% if the banana is still too noticeable for your liking. I, however, love what it does to the mix at 1.5%. After a day of steeping, the cream comes together with the other flavours to push that "thicker" mouthfeel you get when drinking the actual orange/pineapple/banana juice blend you'd find in the grocery store.
TFA Pineapple - no changes here, but I suppose you may be able to push this up to 2.25% and not get an overpowering pineapple in the recipe if you don't have FA Fuji. However, 2% is definitely teetering on the maximum amount of TFA Pineapple you can use without it taking over. Just be mindful when making adjustments here.
FA Meringue/TFA Dragonfruit - dropping meringue to 0.5% was a crucial adjustment here. At 0.75%, it was just making everything far too creamy for my liking, and almost pushed an artificial sweet taste into the mix that I didn't like. Not sure which compound it was mixing with to create that, but it just wasn't enjoyable after a day of steeping. You can easily do without it in the recipe, but it adds just a little extra creamy mouthfeel at 0.5%, as well as a nice boost of sweetness. Dragonfruit didn't change in v2, because, well, it didn't need to. It helps bind all of the flavours together and give the respective fruit flavours a little extra boost.
FA Fuji - the missing piece from v1. FA Fuji is fickle, so you can't be using a whole lot of it unless you want crisp apple flavour to be the main thing you taste. At 0.25%, you can't even really taste the apple in here, but it helps push the pineapple flavour without needing to add more TFA Pineapple, it adds more juiciness to the oranges, and it seems to mellow out the creams before they have a chance to take over the mix. FA Fuji has quickly become one of my favourite concentrates to use, and it definitely has it's place in very small percentages in any fruit recipe you could think of.
Koolada - alright, so 4 drops per 5ml is insane, right? That's what I've been hearing, so I'm starting to think I might have a weak batch of Koolada. Because even at 4 drops per 5ml, I'm not really getting slapped with the cold element. That being said, in this recipe, you really want some Koolada. Without it, I've found that just the heat from your coils tends to give the recipe a strange taste on the back of your tongue. I mean, that's probably a good thing, because it honestly tastes like what I assume warm orange/pineapple/banana juice would taste like. Almost creates a sort of warm banana pudding flavour that does not work. Adding the Koolada pushes an added bit of freshness to the vape, and really helps tie everything together. Use it to your preferences, but you just want it here to add a little coldness to the mix, we're not trying to make it feel like a menthol juice.
Alright, adjustments here have pushed this recipe to the next level. I've been vaping it nonstop since I mixed it up yesterday morning. After a day of steeping, it's still delicious, and it's definitely my current ADV. Go ahead and mix it up and let me know what you think.
Thank you!
> FA Fuji at 0.25%
> Koolada at 4 drops per 5ml
For the sake of consistency these are both 0.25% depending on the size of your "drop".
Drops when measured by weight depending on the dispensing container range from 0.015g (Inawera 10ml bottles) to 0.04g (yorker spout tips).
Using your average 30ml dropper bottle would be roughly 0.025 to 0.03g per drop. 4 drops per 5 ml @ 0.03g per drop = 0.24%.
Just trying to keep things on the same playground.
From now on I'll just wait until v2 to mix your recipes, you fickle bastard ;)
Probably a good idea. I usually drop v2 within 24 hours of v1 anyway hahaha. I always think about just waiting till v2 to post, but I know some people like seeing the progress and changes I make so I just do it haha.
I had some version of Nebula saved for later. What version are you on now?
Have you tried CAP golden pineapple? I can't stand TFA pineapple, personally.
I have Golden Pineapple. Something about it just doesn't work for me. I dunno what it is, I might just need to do some more solo tests on it to find a good percentage. Or maybe I need to try a mix of TFA and CAP for my pineapple flavour.
Cheers! I love straight up fruity vapes :) Using FA Pineapple at 1% since I don't have the TFA version and it still dominates alongside dragonfruit. Fuji oddly enough really comes through and I can sense the banana cream, the orange and tangerine however completely disappear in the background. Nice improvement, the first version had some odd off taste that's gone now. I might tone down dragonfruit and/or pineapple and possibly add some lemon or lime to bring out the citrus fruits, but on the whole it's a terrific vape as is! Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work :D

Oh thank you! I forgot to add it there as well. Fortunately, using flavour notes allows this to also be posted on the main page as well.
*Flavor, there's only one Aussie here and he's asleep/drunk by now.
I'm surprised it took you this long to call me out on my English spelling. People usually crucify me on that as soon as they meet me hahaha.
