yo Wayne, I love you buddy but I think you might've jumped in a little too deep without preparing fully. Not an insult at all mind you - your recipes are dope, your insight is great, and you really inspired me to get back to going hard in the DIY game.
If you ever need suggestions for content or anything you know the community here is more than happy to help out. Hell, throw a strawpoll out there sometimes and see what people want to see more of. Stuff like that. User feedback is always a good thing. I'm sure it's hard to find content for a DIY eJuice magazine, don't be afraid to ask for help buddy.

tl;dr Don't be afraid to ask for help man. We'd all be happy to contribute.
I have to agree with OP. I almost subscribed to it when it first was starting to be published, but was very hesitant about it. I know it's only $3, and in the world of paid published content that is not a lot.
However, advertising, and promising X and Y amount of content and not delivering on it, is never a good thing and just the right amount of people saying the wrong things is enough to break a lot in this world.
Don't get me wrong, what he has done over the last year has been awesome, and his 'free' content is nice for new people to DIY, but kind of put him self in a bad position. IMHO, he should open up and ask for help from the community or just like one or two people. Give them a kick back from the income and really push out the content.
I saw the writing on the wall when one of the first (or maybe it was the first) issues was supposed to be published then was almost a week later before it got out then was already way behind and then missed a week on putting out the eMagazine.
Another thing that kind of bothers me now, knowing there is hardware reviews and basically anything that is not DIY related stuff, kind of makes me feel it's very homogenized with anything else already out there. I thought it was a great idea to have just a DIY focused thing like this sub, but if it's more gearing towards gear, what's the point?
I feel like there should be more focus on reorganizing (yet again in the past year), to really just stick to what he can do or get some more people on board that can help with content creation or publishing.
Looks like the mods have deleted the whole thread.
yeah that was fast... also, it was not in violation of the rules, so I don't know what gives. I thought we all wanted to be more engaged in...well what ever related to DIY.
What did you think of the content before you unsubed? Is it worth more than just watching his videos for free on youtube?
The only part I really cared about what was the flavor notes. The rest (letters to the editor, hardware reviews, advocacy, etc.) I generally skipped past. Those notes alone were worth the cost but only if they were delivered as advertised.
I'm thinking about subscribing just for the flavor notes as well. Were there a lot of flavors from each vendor reviewed? Or was it just a couple from a few different vendors?
To be perfectly honest, why not consider your $3 subscription a donation instead? Wayne puts out a lot of free content on top of his magazine. He also puts in a lot of effort and more than likely a lot of his own money in order to put out all that he does.
I agree that he needs to work on keeping to what he agreed to, however, I think that $3 a month isn't going to hurt most people's bank accounts, and you could consider it a way to give back for all Wayne gives to the DIY community.
Your money, your choice, $3...
You have a point. But if he's promising a weekly subscription in exchange for $3, I think he should honour his promise. If he wants donations, just remove the subscription service completely and put a big donation button there instead.
Or rather change what he offers. Obviously it's too much for him to keep up on, or he is struggling finding content to fill his pages. Really, he should either starting putting out what he promised, or cancel all the subscriptions and start a new subscription with terms he will adhere to.
The recipes alone he releases for free make me more than happy to give him $3 a month.
You're missing the point. I'm all for supporting Wayne but promising people a product in exchange for money and not honoring that is kind of scummy. Maybe he has a good explanation for it. Maybe he got too caught up with the Chef Vapor collab. Who knows
While I can understand your reasoning for cancelling a subscription, I don't really think this is the proper place to be airing a grievance. If you have an issue with Wayne's subscription service, why didn't you just email him directly? He's always good about replying to emails, especially considering something that involves money.
I don't know, call me bitter, but it just seems like you posted this to put him on blast. You're not going to get a response from making a post on reddit, because Wayne doesn't moderate this sub, and it'll probably get removed or lost in the other posts before he'd even see it. Just email him directly.
Gotta say I disagree with you. He is paying for something that he was told he would receive. I understand he could keep paying as a donation to thank Wayne, but that's not what he signed up for.
Don't get me wrong, I think Wayne is a fantastic guy. But it seems like you are posting this to put the op on blast for having his opinion, which he rightfully has.
Sure, he could email Wayne, but then only he gets a response. If Wayne comes here and addresses the issue, it clears things up for a lot of people.
I will agree that this isn't the place to post material like this. Doesn't fall into the subs posting intentions.
Perhaps /r/DIY_eJuiceDiscussion should be created to discuss issues like this
I don't even agree with that. Where else would this be discussed? It's not like this place is flooded with posts. Wayne and DIYorDIE are 100% this sub. If In the Mix can be advertised here, it can most definitely be discussed here.
Also, it's not like this guy was bashing Wayne, or being disrespectful. His post is very sincere and he makes a great point.
It was hardly a "blast". Wasn't even an opinion, just a statement of fact.
Did you contact Wayne? or did you come straight to the masses instead?
I agree with Matt, it's one thing to cancel your service but to do it publicly without even tagging him seems a tad overboard.
It is obviously your own choice to pay the 3$ a month and I understand why you would want to cancel but Wayne is a really good guy. What if he has something is store for those who stayed loyal to the service and sends them out a care package or some other randomness. Idk it's only my 0.02$ and I don't even scribe to the service so I'm not one to talk.. lol
