What do I mix to get this flavor that is not this flavor???

This has been on my mind for quite a while now and the only dumb question is one that is not asked so I will take my chances and ask away. Can you make a flavor with two different flavors like making cherry with two flavors that are not cherry or peach from two flavors that are not peach and is there a list somewhere of what flavors when mixed will equal something different???

Absolutely can do this. I've made cherry on accident mixing different almond flavors.

Which is neat, because many amarettos are actually made with apricot pits, not almonds.

Flavor perception can be fascinating. Volatiles can combine to produce flavors that none of them hint at individually.

AFAIK, they're all in the same family, so the pits carry similar essences, just in varying amounts.

this in going to try. simply because I love amaretto and it has such a beautiful "cherry" taste to it even though it's not made with cherries. I never thought about almonds.

It's definitely possible, but pretty complicated. If you look in to the deeper DIY subreddit you will probably find more of the answers you're looking for. Also this thread goes in to flavor bending a bit by creating an "oatmeal" flavor out of different flavorings.

You'd have to have some pretty specific knowledge of flavor volatiles to do this on purpose, but it has happened to me on accident a few times. Too bad that was before I wrote anything down :-(

2 parts TFA Juicy Peach and 1part TFA Sweet Raspberry make blue raspberry iirc. Tfa Dragonfruit can sub for pear or pineapple in a pinch...

Its all about the molecules, ans its usually discovered by accident and case-specific. There is (unfortunately) not some kind of Cyan Magenta Yellow Black flavoring kit that you mix in different ratios to get different tastes

I tried this once:

2% TFA Wintergreen 2% Vanillin 1% TFA Cinnamon Spice 1% FA Orange

The result? Pink bubblegum. Seriously.

Yep, I have been trying Strawberries of many kinds. Mixed with some creams I often get a lemon hint without ever adding lemon.

I mixed up a few different batches cap blueberry jam with a couple creams the other day and no matter what percentage I kept getting a almost spicy cinnamon flavor. I'll have to check when I get home exactly what flavors they were, but I was going crazy thinking that I had used an old syringe/bottle that previously had cinnamon in it, but even with brand new bottles and syringes I was getting that spicy flavor.

I think I have tasted something very close to chocolate in a mix with some coconut extra and dragonfruit. There was some strawberry in there too, I believe. It went from a mix of fruits to sweet chocolate in a week or so. Probably the dragonfruit at work.

Rainbow Drops TFA + anything vanilla = Urinal Cake

On a more practical level, I've also found weird results with Maltol heavy flavors combining to form entirely new results. I don't like those results, but if I were trying to come up with something totally new I would start there. Apricot + Strawberry (Ripe) TFA for a start.

found sweet anchovy flavor. 10% FA forest fruit 15% tfa sweetener those amounts scared me, but so many people loved it i had to try... yup anchovies, unmistakable looks like we have the makings for a pizza!
