The STD you want to get! (A Strawberry Donut Recipe!)
submitted over 9 years ago by Macoochie
  • FLV Strawberry .5%

  • TPA Strawberry 3.75%

  • TPA Rasberry Sweet 2%

  • Cap Glazed Doughnut 5%

  • TPA Frosted Donut 2%

  • FA Cookie .5%

  • FA Meringue 1.5%

  • FA Joy .75%

The Jelly - FLV Strawberry/TPA Strawberry/ TPA Raspberry Sweet FLVs Strawberry is strong. But it has this wonderful jammy note, that to me is spot on what you would find in a Donut. The TPA Strawberry/Raspberry Sweet combine for the perfect candish, yet tart strawberry flavor. I tried a lot of strawberries to get the jelly note. Every strawberry I could find just fell short, but this is just perfect for me.

The Donut - CAP Glazed/FA Cookie/ FA Joy I'll preface this with I LOVE Caps Glazed Donut. When I say love, I really mean "OMG I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT THIS" It's that good to me. It has a wonderfully sweet bready note, followed with this interesting fried note(What people say tastes like playdough) But, in previous attempts it got overpowered by the jelly, so I had to boost it a little bit. Cookie is really only here for the AP, boosting the breadyness of the Donut, and Joy helps boost the fried aspect. Both of these are CRUCIAL for this recipe.

The Sugar TPA Frosted Donut/FA Meringue/ FA Joy I've never seen a jelly filled donut with out a powered suger coating. To me, it was super important to get this note to be there. And it was kind of hard. Frosted Donut is ONLY here for this note. It adds NOTHING to the breadyness of this juice. The combo of Meringue/Frosted Donut gives you this wonderful powdery sweet note that just falls into place perfectly. Joy also helps here.

So there it is. My first recipe shared with you guys. I hope you enjoy it. Constructive Criticism is always welcome.

EDIT I mix this at Max VG, incase you're wondering.

If you're going to a jelly type, FLV is what you want. It just has this wonderful Backnote that just yells jelly.

I would start out with CAP Sweet Strawberry and TFA Strawberry Ripe considering everyone uses that comp.

Flv Strawberry isn't going to fit in a lot of recipes.

You have to have CAP Sweet Strawberry. I don't know how you even got into this sub without it. Joking aside, I'll sell you my bottle of FLV since I think it's disgusting. It can help with a jelly note but there has to be better options. It doesn't help with a strawberry note at all.

can you please explain why the use of joy, how does it help the liquid?. and how long to let it cure?

Joy has two notes that help here. It brings a fried note, and it brings a powder sugar note. Both are needed.

Let it cure? Just shake it up and put it down for 2-3 days. I don't do any heat curing or anything like that. It's good fresh, but 3 days and it's great.

By itself it tastes like a funnel cake imo.

Just mixed this one up, will let it sit for a few days to see how it evolves! Cap glazed doughnut has always smelled/tasted like Play-doh to me...but I've been in the mood for a good Strawberry doughnut vape.

Still chasing that taste of fresh Strawberry Cloud Rat.

I don't have frosted donut, but I have all the rest of it. Do you think bumping meringue would help? I also have brown sugar and sweetener.

Doing without should be fine. You'll just miss a little of the sugar coating.

Made a test bottle of this a few days ago, still tasting quite playdohy. I found this recipie which, on its own tastes just like doughnuts. No steep required, but no jam.

At some point I'm going to combine it with your jam (jelly if you're not from the uk), and a bit or meringue for the frosting and I'm confident it will be the best doughnut recipe out there.

8% seems super high. If my recipe tastes playdoughy to you, then I don't see how this wouldnt. But to each their own! I'm glad you enjoy the jelly aspect. It was the hardest part for me to nail fown!

I know it sounds high but try just those 3 ingredients on their own and you'll agree it's a lot more like sweet fried dough. I'm also thinking of involving some sugar cookie for a little more fluffines, and a dash of liquid amber for the fruit. If I ever get round to perfecting it I'll post.
