Looking for a FW - Yellow Cake substitute.
submitted over 9 years ago by slapofthebass

I use yellow cake in many of my recipes, but I want to stray away from it because its a delicious coil killer and apparently has sugar in it.

Can you guys recommend a good substitute for its rich cakey notes without tasting like AP (I think, FA-Cookie, INW-Biscuit)?

I think we're all waiting for something to fully replace it. Maybe fa will listen to us and offer a lemon free Nonna's

The lemon in Nonna's Cake isn't the bad part. It's the anise that overpowers every other flavor mixed with it.

Oh I thought it was the shit fuck plastic artificial taste. I never noticed the other thing. Nonna can blow me. CAP sugar cookie plus fa joy for the win.

I agree, I get the best cake base with CAP Sugar Cookie.

For some reason I could never really taste FW Yellow Cake.

I actually have them both, what % do you use them at to replicate FW Yellow Cake?

I don't taste the anise in it or least with the recipe I made.

I made a sort of generic cake mix with it and it tasted like cake soaked in Jaegermeister. Ugh.

Yeah, it has that perfuminess that just doesn't seem to fade.

I think the lemon helps brighten the flavor; if they just took out the anise, then it would be a great angel food cake flavor.

Get some FLV Cupcake Batter. You won't ragret.

Hmm I didn't try it that high. 4% was as high tried at but in mixes been around 1-2% maybe I'll do standalone and try it higher again.

Trance does 4, Manson does 5. I tried both and I wasn't fapping until 6.

You think it would replace yellow cake in the recipes that requires it? Sucks it sold out on BCV shoulda jumped the gun but wanted to wait for flavorah so I could just get 4oz of it.

Yeah, pretty much. It becomes a little less battery & the cake note comes out more after a few days. Still don't know what a 1-2 week steep is like because I kill 30mls too fast

I've used Vanilla Cupcake V2 (CAP) and Cake Batter (CAP) in a 2:1 ratio for NCM's SBSCB with very tasty success.

I tasted a European type cake, duh, with Nonas and I just want a a good old American yellow cake. I'm not fancy. I hope FA OR FLV hears us. I left a note for FLV. I sure miss FW yellow cake now that I can't use it, even though I didn't use it that often when I could. I think it's a case just not being able to use it for me.

Probably not spot-on but TFA Vanilla Cupcake has a similar profile albeit slightly weaker. Capella Cake Batter is a thicker denser cake, but it might work too.
