I fucking love coconut, especially in pie form. I tried to make this as close as possible from memory, because my diet prevents me from eating such lovely desserts. After a couple of months of tweeking, I ended up with this light, creamy, and not overly sweet coconut cream pie flavor. You can shake and vape, but it gets better over time with all the creams going on. Hope you all enjoy.

Flavor Notes
The Crust

FA Apple pie is hands down my favorite crust flavor. It's adds the bakery note needed, without weighing down the rest of the recipe. The apple isn't noticeable at all, and if anything, it adds a twang to the custard filling.

INW Biscuit Complementary flavor to FA Apple Pie. Just adds a buttery baked note to round out the crust.
Other flavors tried:

TPA Pie Crust: Tried at 0.75%-1.5%. At higher percentages, it clashing with the coconut, making the juice too buttery. At the lower end, it wasn't giving me the flavor I was looking for.

FW Pie Crust: Had some success with this at 1%. This would've made the final cut if I didnt try out FA Apple Pie. It's more dry than TPA Pie Crust, so that's probably why it worked out better.
The Custard Filling

FA Vienna Cream: Adds a light creamy sweetness to the custard. At 1% it's works well with the coconut and it's custard partner in crime.

FA Custard: It was difficult looking for a custard to add enough richness, but without adding too much vanilla that would mask the coconut. FA Custard adds a bottom note to round out the Vienna Cream. It's also adds a slight twang I was looking for due to it's citrus note. At 1%, I can't taste the citrus, just the twang the custard needed.
Other flavors tried:

CAP Vanilla Custard v1: Tried down to 3%. Was overpowering everything else with vanilla.

FLV Vanilla Custard: Tried at 2%, same result as above.
The Coconuts

FLV Coconut (v2) My favorite coconut flavoring. It's rich, buttery, creamy, and everything that's good in life. It's the dominant coconut flavoring, and blends so well with the custard filling. I used it higher than 0.5% in previous versions just to see what would happen, and it seemed to not do much. The coconut was barely stronger, and the subtleties with everything else was masked, but it wasn't harsh or anything.

TPA Coconut Candy Adds a sugary top note to the rich flavor of FLV coconut to complete the coconut package. Any higher than 1.25% it adds a fake chemically coconut taste.

FLV Sweet Coconut I really wanted this flavoring to work to the point I got stuck in my early versions. concluded that it was just too buttery and clashed with the crust. It was heartbreaking giving up on this flavor.

INW Coconut Cookies Baked coconut dessert flavor would work perfectly, right? Wrong. It's a weird flavor that's really light at lower percentages, and really chemical at around 3-4%. I could see thing being a base of a coconut macaroon recipe, but it just didnt work well in this.

TPA Coconut Extra After using FLV coconut and sweet coconut, this stuff is just sunblock.
The whipped topping
- CAP Vanilla Whipped Cream Tried this after failing to make my own whipped cream with separate ingredients. It really light, fluffy, and sweet. I don't get much vanilla in it, I just get a pillowy light creaminess on the exhale. I put this at 3% because I fucking love a mountain of whipped cream on pie, but you can certainly dropped this percentage down a bit.
Other flavors tried:
- FA Fresh Cream with FA Meringue: Was too Milky without adding enough fluff to the mix. I ended up keeping the meringue in the mix, but Fresh Cream didn't add what I was looking for.
Accenting Flavors

FA Meringue Adds sweetness to the mix, and maybe a little egginess. Tried at 1% and it was making the recipe too sweet.

TPA Acetyl Pyrazine Wanted to add some toastiness to replicate toasted coconut on top. Anything higher than 0.4%-0.5% and you're looking at corn flakes country.

TPA Toasted Marshmallow Didn't give me the toasted flavor I was looking for. Just gave me toasted marshmallow on top of pie.

TPA Toasted Almond Was thinking, hmmmm toasting coconut does give it a nutty flavor, maybe toasted almond might work? wrong, made almond milk.
I've always associated that chemical coconut flavor as cardboard soaked in tanning lotion. Really easy to overdue it too.

Wow, congrats on nailing your white whale! I'd say that's one of the best feelings in the world, when you've finally nailed that recipe you've been working on for a while. This is a really great write-up. Thank you very much for all the hard work you put in to it! I'm missing the coconut candy & vanilla whipped cream so I can't mix it up but I'll throw them in the next basket. I've wanted to try a coconut cream pie but I knew that recipe would be a b*tch-and-a-half to nail.
While coconut flavours really aren't my thing, you seem to have addressed all of the reasons why I don't like it with this recipe. For me, coconut either tastes like tanning lotion or it's just fake as shit. With your inclusion of things that DIDN'T work, it's made me want to try this.
And to think, I was gonna try to keep my next flavour order under $20. What a joke.

you can try switching out the coconut/AP with something that's more of your liking. In the back of my mind i'm trying to think of a banana flavoring, or a combination of them, that would work well for a banana cream pie. Most banana flavorings tastes like banana runts to me. Or try it out with strawberry, or a mixed berry.
Well something that I've found to work really well if you're trying to get a banana cream base for this, TFA Banana Cream at 2% and LA Banana Cream at 0.75%. With that, you get the strong banana flavour from LA without getting that banana runts flavour, while the TFA version helps keep it more in the realm of banana cream. I love how those two meld together.
I just got this mixed up and I have to say, this is excellent. I really like the way that the FA Custard plays in the mix. Awesome usage of ingredients. Sweetness is perfect and really reminds me of a coconut cream pie.
Just vaped it at shake-n-vape stage, what would you recommend for steep time?
glad you're enjoying it! I really like it early on because the different parts of the pie are more distinctive. At about a week the flavors start to blend together like if you stuck the pie in a blender and drank the results. I haven't made a bottle that lasted more than 3 weeks because it's my in between flavor when i wanna switch from a fruit juice to a darker juice.
