Here we go again. Matthew's throwing another recipe at ya.

This one is simple in terms of the flavour profile, I needed something completely on the other end of the spectrum of what I'd been mixing up lately. My last two successful recipes, Drunken Pears and Banana Split, have just been assaulting my senses with dessert and creamy flavours. So this recipe is my sort of olfactory reset.

• FA Concord Grape at 0.25%
• CAP Lemon Lime at 2%
• CAP Juicy Orange at 1%
• TFA Strawberry Ripe at 4.5%
• CAP Sugar Cookie at 1.5%
• TFA Brown Sugar at 0.75%
• OPTIONAL Koolada at 3 drops per 15ml

Flavour Notes

CAP Harvest Berry/FA Concord Grape - so I have been messing with Harvest Berry for about a week now in flavour testings. I love how complex and dark this flavour is, but it is insanely potent. I've found that it has a rather unpleasant medicinal type aftertaste to it in most of my taste tests, but the initial flavour of it is very nice. It's a dark, moist, full-bodied berry flavour that I think works perfectly at 1%. You can push it to 1.5% without that medicinal aspect showing up, but it starts to get overpowering at that point. Concord Grape is in there just to give it a little extra boost. The slight bitterness and tartness of the Concord Grape plays nicely even at 0.25%.

CAP Lemon Lime/CAP Juicy Orange - I used the citrus of these flavours to tame the bold flavour of the Harvest Berry. While you don't necessarily pick up on the lemon, lime, or orange, using these in this recipe definitely adds a nice bright element to the darkness of the main profile.

TFA Strawberry Ripe - plain and simple, I think this acts as the bridge between the berries and the citrus. It seems to prevent any sort of flavour separation, and keeps the profile consistent.

CAP Sugar Cookie/TFA Brown Sugar - while playing with Harvest Berry over the past week or so, I found that it really mellows out and becomes less of a main player in recipes that include creams, custards, vanilla, etc. However, I didn't want to create yet another creamy dessert type vape. CAP Sugar Cookie has been a beautiful addition to my arsenal for it's versatility. In this recipe, it adds a nice body to the mix without becoming an actual flavour note. You get the FEEL of a bakery vape, without the flavours that come with it. There's the softness of the cookie and the sweetness of the sugar, but it only adds those elements to the flavour of the berries. Adding Brown Sugar in here was just my substitution for EM or Cotton Candy, because it complements the darkness of the berries with a dark sugar flavour note.

Koolada - I personally love Koolada in my primarily fruit flavoured vapes. I never was a menthol smoker, but for some reason, I like that feeling with my fruit vapes. Entirely optional in this recipe, but the tiny bit of cooling you get at 3 drops per 15ml is a nice touch for me.

Ratio/Steep Time/Concept - 70VG/30PG is perfect. No need to mess with it. Definitely a shake and vape, but I've found Harvest Berry does calm down with a day or so of steeping, so you'll get a little more of the strawberry and citrus notes after a little steep, but nothing too noticeable. Finally, the concept. As I said, I needed something to break the desserts I'd been focusing on for the past two or three weeks. And this was just it. I spent most of my day listening to A Perfect Circle, and the recipe title of "Sea of Names" comes from the translation of the APC album Mer De Noms. I wanted to create a flavour profile that mimicked the feeling I get when listening to that album. I've come up with my own little theory of what Maynard was doing while creating his different bands. Tool is the rage and anger in humans, Puscifer is anxiety and chaos, while A Perfect Circle is the emotional and sexual aspect of humanity. This recipe was supposed to emulate that sexuality and emotion. I thought to use berries and citrus because those create a mouth-watering feel to emulate a sort of sexual desire, while the dark sugary aspect is there to play off of the darkness and emotion behind A Perfect Circle's music.

So yeah, I'm strange, but I'm slightly intoxicated and that's the inspiration for this recipe. I probably won't fuck with this one too much because it's not something I'm really trying to push into any sort of personal flavour line I may or may not create, but I still think it's tasty and a great shift from the dessert recipes I've been dropping lately.
