I always do. It can help identify a problem flavour or an ingredient that's out of proportion. Let's hear what from the rest of you!
Like when I run out of batteries and I have to drink my juice?
All I've really learned from this is that peach really does not agree with me. It burned the shit out of my tongue. Think I'm allergic to the peach flavorings.
Other than that, no. It's not representative of vaping. Strong flavors are really strong. Background flavors fall too far back. And the vg is super sweet with ruins all balance of flavor.
I do, but I make all my juices without nicotine first. I add in the nicotine after steeping. I don't get much other than chemicals until I dilute with a lot of saliva.
When I get a new flavor in, I sometimes will. What I learned from that, is Extreme Ice (FW) and Koolada will make your mouth feel really cold for a good hour!
I do this with every new mix. It doesn't really help me identify if the recipe is going to vape well, but like you said, it does sometimes let you know if your proportions are out of whack. I've yet to learn anything of much importance using this tasting method, but it's still a habit of mine.
I do this with flavors, not usually with mixes. I don't usually do single mixes of flavors to test them out, just taste and smell of the actual concentrate.
Found out the hard way that INW cactus has an very intense burn. The burn is followed by a juicy, watermelon/bubblegum type flavor that's really nice. I've yet to use it in a fruit mix, but will one day.
Sometimes I drop a few drops of vanilla swirl into my coke so I get vanilla coke without having the go to the shop and buy a bottle of it.
Not with mixes but with flavorings. I feel this helps me get an idea of what it will taste like and how concentrated the flavoring is. I will however taste my mixes here and there; if I happen to get some on my fingers I may give it a lick to see what it's like.
99% of the time when i taste a drop it is mostly a stinging sensation which i don't know if that means it needs more steep time or it's not sweet enough.
Reason i say that is when i do a drop test on juices that i have bought most taste good right away and taste finished and no stinging sensation.
DON'T FUCK.NG DO THAT WITH KOOLADA.
I REPEAT, KOOLADA-> TONGUE, NO.
Even a drop feels like it's burning your tongue.
Edit: nvm somehow I read wrong. I always do, just because it's damn delicious. Btw I've dropped strawberry cheesecake mixes into my milk teas (the ones you actually drink), tasted amazing!
Always. It's actually the first thing I do when I get new concentrates. Crack it open, sniff, then taste. Sometimes it's really pointless, as the taste of the pure flavor is nothing like a finished product, INW Biscuit comes to mind here. But most times it helps to get a complete sense of the flavors I'm working with. AP, Koolada, and menthol not included, that shit's asking for trouble.
I do it pretty regularly. I've learned that there are times where a juice tastes great on the tongue but is absolutely disgusting when vaped, and there are times where a juice tastes absolutely disgusting on the tongue but is amazingly delicious when vaped, and everything in between those two extremes.
Basically, I've learned that how a juice tastes on your tongue is absolutely not an accurate indicator of how it tastes when vapes.
