Coconut Key Lime Cake

I had planned on sitting on this for a while and letting it steep but /u/bigbruise 's post on Nonna's Cake made this a good time to get it out there.

Coconut Key Lime Cake

2% Coconut FA
1% Creme Brulee INW
2% DX Bavarian Cream
1.5% Key Lime TFA
1% Marshmallow TFA
1% Marzipan FA
1.5% Nonna's Cake FA

Coconut: FA Coconut is the most authentic coconut I have come across. It is not without faults though. I find its delicate and easily hidden. This recipe has been my personal best use of it.

Creme Brulee: I use this to add sweetness and "toast" the coconut. Credit for that goes to KGuardian over at VU.

Bavarian Cream: We all know what this does. Sweet, buttery, fluffy and creamy. I personally think it brings a little "white" to the cake. I used the DX here simply because I like it better than Capellas.

Key Lime: One of the stars here. The only lime flavor I've ever tried. Do you think I could do better? Anyway I "hear" that this flavor mutes over time and mutes flavors around it. For that reason I have not steeped this longer than 3 days. The lime covers the lemon that Nonna's is bringing and at 1.5% is subtle like the coconut.

Marshmallow: Fluff/filler, sweetness more "white" and some obligatory acetoin.

Marzipan: I love this shit. I try to find a place for it in every thing I make. Buttery and sweet. It seems to push the cake a little.

Nonna's Cake: The lemon in this flavor hurts it (for me) in so many ways. It works well in this recipe because of the lime.

Joy: Yes its not in there. I did try swapping it with the Marshmallow and what I got was a super dense yellow cake. Something southern and homemade. Egg and bread flour. Could this be an answer to the yellow cake dilemma?

steeping: I haven't. Its ok shake and vape. Better the next day and it never lasts me much longer than that.

I also was wondering if FA Joy might be able to help with the cakey aspect but so far I haven't found a percentage that works as well as the heinous FW. But it's a great path to starting out.

Hmm. Looks like I need to add some FA Joy to my next order. I've been trying to solve the yellow cake problem for a while and it sounds like your accidental results are just about what I'm looking for.

If you want a good key lime flavor, get Capella Lemon Lime. I got it and I never went back to TFA Key Lime. Wayyyy too perfumy.
