Ecto Cooler - Flavor West
submitted over 9 years ago by TwistedfexerProud Sidebar Reader!

Seen this flavor pop up a few times and decided to get a sample to check it out. Glad I did. After looking at reviews and such I decided 10% to be a good starting point for this flavor.

Mixed @ 10%, steeped 2-3days & tested on derringer clone w/ dual .32ohm coils @ 45w

Decent amount of flavor. First thing that comes to mind is rind but also sweet.. Naval orange seems to be the flavor this is trying to mimic. But its like taking a bite of a naval orange, unpeeled without getting that cottonmouth feeling.. Which Imo isn't that bad. I enjoy it.

Going to drop it down to 8% see if the rind-y-ness goes away.

Regardless tho this is a decent stand alone and would be great in citrus mixes and beverages as well. Most likely ordering more of this stuff to mess around with.

For those kiddies that don't know. Ecto-Cooler was an orange juice box that was an ~~original~~ promo HI-C flavor for ghost busters. It had ~~this green glob guy~~ slimer from the real ghost busters series on the juice box. Later was replaced with ~~"orange lava burst" IIRC~~ crazy citrus cooler.

There is rumor the juice box flavor may come back this year.

This was my favorite juice box as a kid.

Edit: facts

I wonder if they're going to bring back Ecto Cooler with the new Ghostbusters flick.

It was around a long time too. Forgot when they pulled it from shelves, but I disntinctly remember seeing it as a fountain drink option somwhere before, way back in the 90's.

Curious, might have to try this.

I bought mount baker vapors version a few months back and thought it tasted like orange-ass.

Well then you're in luck! The FW version that I have has been mixed anywhere between 2%-10% and it tastes like orange-ass no matter the concentration.

This is one of those flavors that makes me wonder if nostalgia has an effect on our taste buds. I love oranges but the peeling is one of the most bitter things I have ever put in my mouth. Ecto Cooler taste like those peelings to me.

I like it as a standalone. I make it for my brother and myself. I mix it at a higher percentage, but I run it max vg @ 3nic. I like the in your face citrus it provides. I have tried it in other blends even at low percents and its all I can taste no matter what. Its one of the few flavors that stands on its own for me. I also like Cap Peaches and Cream as a standalone.

I'm not sure if it's just my order, but I got this with my DIY kit I bought, and I was disappointed. I love Juice Box by Vape Wild, and I assumed this was the flavor they used, but when I got mine, the flavor wasn't very strong, and tasted nothing like what I was used too. The one thing I dislike about DIY is that I feel since a lot of the sellers have to rebottle the flavors, because they can only be bought from FW in 4oz bottles, I might be getting a weakened sample of it.

I just bought another bottle of this from Bull City, a different retailer then the one I got my kit from to see if it was just that original bottle. Now I'm very excited, can't wait to mix this.

Yeah, what was OP thinking? FW concentrates need like double that amount. :P

Back in the olden days this was the most popular juice, MBVs brand. It's also what got me into DIY as I realized their whole line was just Flavor West flavors mixed with PG, VG, and Nic.
