Thank you for everyone who turned out to the IRC chat yesterday to vote me in nearly unanimously as a moderator. For those of you who were in that IRC debate, you'll know that the only ones who voted against me were the other moderators, except for that Aussie who wasn't familiar with what voting was.
New DIY Rules
DIY is no longer Do It Yourself. The point of DIY is to take people who have only been vaping a few weeks and help take recipes they find here and claim them as their own so they can make a lot of money overnight. DIY will now mean Dollars, Income, YOLO.
Starting Monday We will be blocking all new post submissions and you can only post in the daily and hourly threads that the moderation team puts up. The daily threads will be:
- Pictures of my flavor concentrates and mixing table thread
- Asking how to make mixing by volume easier thread -- we will ban anyone who talks about mixing by weight in this thread
- What can I make with these ingredients thread -- this will be sponsored only by FlavorWest, so you are no longer allowed to post any ingredients from any of the amateur concentrate makers.
- The flavor of the week will now be the flavor of the day and we will delete that thread when a new flavor is created, so that only active participants can get value out of it.
The hourly threads will be:
- Hand checks of your favorite FlavorWest flavor concentrate
- Hand checks of your funniest melted syringe moment
- Hand checks of "guess what vape pen oil I mixed?"
- Hand checks of those times when you use the wrong dropper top that doesn't fit the wrong LDPE bottle
Ban-worthy offenses
If you post any comments including any of these topics, you will be banned:
- "Dang I just placed an order and I didn't order that flavor!"
- Anyone who mentions mixing by weight to people inquiring about mixing by volume/using syringes.
- Anyone asking about substitutions, especially if the original flavor concentrate mentioned is FlavorWest.
- Anyone who asks anyone else to post one of the previously deleted flavor-of-the-day threads. If you missed the thread for any reason, too bad so sad.
Now that there's a new boss in town, We want you know that you will be just as welcomed as always, unless you violate the rules.

Nice try AB. We already discussed the limits of your powers, and you agreed to drop the FW requirements.
It is much easier for everyone to mix 10-15% of a flavor concentrate than 0.25%. DIY is about making it easier for people with no talent to be able to sell their juice and make millions, so we need easy flavor recipes that people can just eyeball when mixing at B&Ms.
Right, and we have no problem with the suggestion, it just can't be a requirement.
Is it ok to use the scale that I weigh myself on in the mornings to DIY??

Why bother with a scale when mixing by eyeball is so much easier?
I drew some lines in permanent marker on my toddler's baby bottle and just pour concentrates in as close to the lines as possible. Clean it out before letting her use it again and don't worry about the darkening, that's just the nicotine miscoloring the plastic.

I've read some new studies involving nicotine and infants. It's be proven that nicotine can be absorbed at higher rates in infants than adults, and shown to have a direct correlation to more naps times and less crying.
How many mg of nic should I add to a 60ml syringe to mix by volume on my hardware scale to make a 1ml batch to split into 5 old coke bottles?
I say just eyeball it to taste!

Sonic blenders aren't needed either. Steeping is a placebo, the only thing that's really happening is vaper's tongue is going away so you can better taste the chlorine and hexane used in most flavor concentrates.
I just pour it in with my eyes closed and count in my head. WheN I get to three twice I know there is enough in there.

I'm pretty sure that /u/enyawreklaw and /u/thirdworldorder are going to be announcing their private labeling mixing website where you just order the flavors of theirs you like and they stick your brand on the bottle. No need to even own a syringe anymore, just have someone else do it for you.
My brand is announcing Brotherly Nuts and Cream-Like Caramelized Sugar Custard soon, through them.
OMG! That was funny... I've been lurking here for so long but never posted. Learned tons from all of you. Can't read side bar since I usually lurk with a phone, but have learned to get most of the info I need in one way or another. I buy a lot of different flavors (actually have probably 50+ tfa flavors alone) and it's all 4-16 oz bottles. Yes, I've wasted a bunch of juice in my endeavors but learn, and yes I've even made some wicked juice that I vape a lot. I've never sold any of it, never. I make it specifically for me and my 28 yr old son that introduced me to vaping. I'm now almost a yr into vaping (finally quit smoking after 35+ years)... I've made most of everyone's juice here at some point, and some is good and some is shit. I appreciate all that you and others have suggested and taught.... But if these rules were ever to really apply... We'll, I guess I'd continue to keep lurking anyhow. Enough said

Might I make a suggestion for the sub? We need a submission form that gets sent directly to the grunts like /u/NotCharlesManson and /u/skiddlzninja so they can figure out my clone demands and send me 120ml bottles of the final product so I can enjoy my favourite premiums for free.
I think they're working on it, but it doesn't sound very equitable. You are taking a big risk with the possibilities of vaper's tongue, so realistically they should pay you to test out the flavors they're mixing up for you.
Maybe $10 per 120mL of e-liquid they send?
Also, I want them to post their cell phone #s so I can text them if they haven't finished mixing my samples yet.
Good point. I dodged a bullet there. Damn fuckin right I deserve to get paid to test the work they're doing.
And yeah, having their cell number is crucial. I need to be able to hit them up when I have 5ml left in my bottle so they can whip up another clone for me in a few minutes and ship it to me express so I don't have to wait for the goods.
