This recipe started very... reluctantly. I needed another recipe to finish out my line, but it needed to be something marketable. My mind immediately jumped to strawberries and cream, unfortunately. I had to think of a way to change the normal all-Capella Flavors, overly-sweetened strawberry cream into something that I wouldn't be ashamed to post here.
I called on that little, nagging, inner-VapeBro voice inside of me that is the driving force behind all my self-loathing for guidance. What he came up with turned into possibly my favorite recipe of my line. It's simple, commonly used flavors, with an added benefit of being able to change profiles whenever I choose(more on the rotation/changes later.)
###Cliché
- 8% TFA Strawberry Ripe
- 5% TFA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
- 3% TFA Raspberry Sweet
- 1% FA Fresh Cream
- 1% FA Forrest Mix
From my Flavor Profile sheet: >Cliché- It's gone by many names, and has been all-but bled dry. A refreshing take on a staple in the e-liquid industry, Cliché is the strawberry cream you've been pining for.
How is this a "rotating" strawberry cream, you ask? Because that final ingredient is 100% seasonal, optional, and replaceable.
As of now, this flavor will be my gimmick. My ace-in-the-hole. My marketing ploy to make people think my line is special. The flavors that have been tested and approved by my podcast co-hosts and a select few of the best mixers from here will be listed at the end of the flavor notes.
TFA Strawberry Ripe/TFA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
Everyone here should be well aware as to why this tastes great, and why my mind would jump to it as the main base of my strawberry cream. Shit's easy mmmmkayyyyyy.
TFA Raspberry Sweet
I used this flavor in A LOT of my past strawberry cream recipes. At around 1%, it really accentuates the strawberry and helps blend it with the cream. It adds a dark sweetness to the mix, and I highly recommend it for any strawberry cream. I used it at 3% because I didn't want it to just blend the parts into a whole; I wanted it to become a part in itself. I wanted it to set this flavor apart from the over-done strawberry creams of yore.
FA Fresh Cream
Again, should be self-explanatory. I didn't want a strawberry ice cream, so I added the fresh cream to give the base a more creamy flavor. Works nicely, and another highly recommended flavor for any strawberry cream.
Rotating Flavors
The most praised flavor is listed in the original recipe, but the others that have been tested and approved are as follows:
- 1% CAP Harvest Berry
- .75% FA Fuji
- 1% FW Cinnamon Roll
- .4% FA White Peach
- .5% TFA Quince
I invite you all to experiment with this recipe, seeing what you can find that suits your tastes better. If you choose to share your tweaks, you have my word that it won't be used to make a profit.
On a separate note, if you haven't already, I highly recommend purchasing a subscription to AllTheFlavors. The newest feature, collaborative mixing is one that I personally requested, and truly sets the app apart from others. It allows multiple people to collaborate on one recipe, making it much easier to get help on a recipe that isn't quite where you want it.
/u/queuetue spends a lot of time keeping the app and features up to date, and the more people that subscribe, the longer he'll be able to keep up. I love this app and would hate to see it go away because it's too costly to keep up.

This looks delicious man. Having a rotating recipe is seriously a genius idea. I'll be mixing this up tomorrow. I'm interested in the cinnamon roll version more than anything right now. Been really enjoying that flavour as of late.
I'm planning on doing limited seasonal releases because vapers eat that shit up. I'm thinking of cinn. roll for winter, fuji for spring, forest fruit for summer, and harvest berry for fall.
If it were me, I would switch the Berry and Fuji...just 'cause apples are harvested in the Fall and definitely associated with Autumn. No one buying your line will know it's Harvest Berry specifically and berries is a good prelude to Summer. Just my 💱 ETA: Peach would be awesome in there too, so there isn't back to back berries & I have all of these so I'll try it here soon. Look good, congrats.
Have I mentioned to you that I've been vaping this every day since ~~I paid you for~~ you gave me the recipe? I think I've mentioned that. Proud of you.
It's odd how I went from being bitter about having to include this recipe to being extremely satisfied and hopeful for it.
And as always, thanks for the compliments :D
Yeah, that Sweet Ras adds a really interesting note. The Forest Fruit variation is by far my favorite. You've got a winner here, old pal.
Just mixed up a batch with Forrest Mix and another with Quince, substituting CAP VBIC for the TFA version. Very excited to give both of them a try! The Quince ought to add a nice flavorful twist to the exhale that will keep my taste buds on their feet. Thank you for all of your amazing contributions to this community!
The quince does..... something to the mix. It's hard to put it into words, but I've noticed it adds a small tropical hint(coconut, pineapple) while also boosting the creams. I was skeptical about it when /u/queuetue suggested I give it a try, but it turned out to be really good.
Wow this is awesome! I love seeing how someone develops a recipe from start to finish and can't wait to contribute a few recipes of my own soon.
When fizz dropped his mustard milk, if I remember correctly, he stated that Strawberry Ripe can not be substituted in place of regular Strawberry because it doesn't play well with VBIC. Did you find that not to be the case just through trial and error or was it something that you found through studying the volatiles involved and how they interact? Or was it just the addition of Raspberry Sweet that changed everything?
Anyway, thanks for this. I do not have Forest Fruit yet (it's on my "to grab" list) so I'm going to make a few batches of this. One omitting the FF entirely, one with Harvest Berry, one with Fuji, and then one with Quince to let them steep while I'm on my cruise for a week :)
Damn, lucky you have that cruise to steep for you haha.
What I've found is that regular strawberry is too much like a gummy, sweet strawberry to fit in with creams. It adds a really unpleasant note after about 2 weeks of steeping. Also, I think you may have misread, because strawberry ripe wasn't replaced in this recipe :X. Either way, yes, raspberry sweet does change everything even when using strawberry ripe. It's a really interesting interaction, and gives the flavor a lot of character.
> was it something that you found through studying the volatiles involved and how they interact?
Hmm, I think he probably mixed them and liked the taste lol
I'm sure that was the ultimate deciding factor, but I know that skiddlz looks into that kind of stuff and it's something I want to dive more into as well.
Also, did you ever settle on a recipe with FLV Milk & Honey? I've had it for a while, but haven't experimented with it much.
Right, I think I've seen him in deeperDIY. It's interesting stuff (especially as a chemist).
I haven't, no. Barely ever used it. It's good and should have uses but like you I've never gotten to it. I need to stop buying so many flavors and experiment with the ones I have already...
For some reason I really want to make this minus the Forest Fruit but adding like .5 TFA Mint Candy or .5 TFA Peppermint.
I've been on a "add a small amount of mint to stuff" kick recently. Dunno why. I'll try and report back.
This is awesome dude! That's a really good idea to keeping the S&C profile fresh. I can't wait to start experimenting with this. Good name for it too, haha. Very enjoyable, informative, and inspirational post good sir.
Yeah, I'm really glad that people are enjoying it. I think of it as a step-up from the super simple Mustard Milk, in that this one gives you a spot to customize the profile as you want, without risking it completely ruining the profile. Teaches people about adding hints of flavor instead of just subbing a main note.
Well I think I can safely say I've just found my new favorite strawberry cream. Mixed this up a couple of hours ago and I'm loving it. I didn't have forest mix so went with peach, damn it's good. Can't wait to try it with forest mix and fortunately it pretty much used up the last of my strawberry ripe, so I've got to put in a new order in the next couple of days so I'll add that to the list. It might be a cliché but there's a reason for that, everybody loves a good strawberry cream.
I'm glad you like it! I'm going to be trying FW Blueberry and maybe even a tangerine tonight.
Cinnamon Roll, huh? I wouldn't have considered that as a possible rotating flavor in your profile, but the more I think about it the more I want to try it. And I love me some FA Forest Mix, it's looks like you have a real winner there. Good job!
+1 for Alltheflavors
I haven't been able to delve into it and move my recipes over quite yet, but i've been watching dev since the beginning. /u/Queuetue is a pretty cool dude.
This is a masterpiece of a juice. Just mixed it up, and wow. It's great fresh, and can't wait to try it a week from now.
So, how do you like it now? :)
As one of those unfortunates whose taste buds hate vanilla bean ice cream I have to ask you, is there any way to substitute it in this recipe?
Have you tried using capella's vbic? I have always had decent results with a straight substitution.
Never heard before, are they similar? Because I'm going to order flavors in a few days and it would be awesome.
I usually swap CAP VBIC for TFA in many recipes. I usually use 1 or 2 percentage less of CAP VBIC compared to the original recipe of TFA VBIC.
TFA has a slight peppery cheese note for me. I have been trying really hard to like this TFA flavor.... but CAP seems to work really well for me
I'm sure it would taste fine if you used CAP Vanilla Custard.
Sorry for bothering you but, would Cap Vanilla Custard be closer than Cap VBIC? I would try it myself but Im still deciding on which flavors to pick for the next order.
As a comparison between CAP's & TFA's, I find CAP's to be more milky/creamy and less spicy (vanilla spice) than TFA's. TFA's is almost like a frozen custard (which may be why CAP VCV1 would be a good substitute, as skiddlz recommended). I would say I find TFA's to be more representative of an Ice Cream than CAP's, but CAP's works really well in cream recipes.
Skiddlz, are you in Cleveland? If not, someone is selling this under the same name.
Edit: I'm sure there are people all over selling your recipes. Just curious if you're from Cleveland mostly!
You're not familiar with his most famous recipe?
It Tastes The Way Ohio Smells:
- 8.4% Honey TFA
I'm from North Ridgeville. My friend/business partner is handling my line, selling out of Cleveland Vape in Lakewood. He should have been running around with samples the past week, so you may have met him.
Thank you very much for sharing this! (and not only this)
But could you please explain why "everyone here should be well aware as to why this ^strawberry ^ripe+vbic tastes great"?
Me, for example - I don't like this combo.
Four words: Mustard Milk
But doesn't Mustard Milk use non ripe TFA Strawberry?
MM recipe contains TPA Strawberry, not TPA Strawberry Ripe. /u/fizzmustard himself said that ripe doesn't work well with vbic, and it's true.
Whether you like it or not, Mustard Milk(the strawberry ripe + VBIC recipe) deserves a lot of credit for being a simple recipe that a large majority have loved. It's also probably the most popular recipe on this subreddit.
I'm not telling what I like and what I don't, man. I'm just saying that straw ripe + vbic and straw + vbic taste completely different. And we cant just call both of this recipes with the same name. Ripe and non-ripe they are two entirely different flavourings.
Well shit. I guess I have to try this now. I've had Sweet Ras and Forest Fruit for like a year and never made anything worth having. Now I'm all excited, and sweaty. Thanks a lot for sharing this skiddlz! We love you.
I will try it with the TFA VBIC first but does anyone have a good sub? I haven't made friends with TFA VBIC. /u/notcharlesmanson, do you think CAP VBIC would work? I have it (your fault) but haven't mixed with it yet (not your fault).
Nice. I tried a similar thing with a strawberry cheesecake recipe - swapping out the strawberry for other fruits. Didn't work in that recipe so I gave up on the idea. I'll definitely be trying this out. I like the simplicity of having one recipe that's easily adaptable.
Do you think INW Rasperry Concetrate could be swapped for TFA Raspberry Sweet, maybe at a lower percentage? I haven't used either yet but have some INW on the way.
No for the INW. It's much more tangy and artificial tasting. It overpowers the strawberry. The raspberry sweet works because it's a light raspberry with fruity sweetness.
There's a juice company I used to order something with a similar idea from, www.vaporcore.net has a juice called Derp. It's a rotating fruity blend that uses the same base but changes notes for the corresponding seasonal changes. I haven't bought juice in years, but I always loved the idea of using traditionally seasonal fruits for short runs. Nice write up
Just whipped this up with 0.75% TFA Acai as the rotatory flavor. Excellent! The raspberry gives it an excellent sweetness without any kind of sweetener involved/needed. Can't wait to see how this steeps!
So, how'd it steep? :)
I went ahead and mixed up a 30ml of the 0.75% acai, and the fuji/cinnamon roll variations.
The acai was done by day 3, the fuji also done by day 3, and I just cracked open the cinnamon roll today (6 day steep).
Fuji and acai were delicious, I'm thinking about making another acai bottle with .6% or so because it was a tad too strong but still very enjoyable. Fuji was bright and crisp, hid in the background but was still apparent enough to brighten the mix. It makes me think that lemon might be a good rotatory flavor as well.
Didn't see much change from an overnight steep and day 3 in terms of flavor, but had all of the benefits of steeping (a little thicker, smoother, and blended).
I'm pretty sensitive to cinnamon (and probably burned out on strawberry) so I really can't be a good judge right now. I'll rewick, drip a couple times of the cinnamon roll version, and edit this post in an hour.
Edit: Ran though a couple of drips, thoroughly nic'd out. The cinnamon is a bit much for me, but my roommates enjoy it. We typically prefer heavier creams, although after a nice steep it is much thicker in taste but not in mouthfeel (a bit thin still). The strawberry blends nicely, the vanilla from the VBIC pops out a bit more, the raspberry still provides the underlying sweetness perfectly. It's fleshed out into a nice complex blend of flavor with so few ingredients. Overall 8/10 from me, 9/10 from roommate one, 7/10 from roommate two.
/u/skiddlzninja , this is a really interesting mix. I shall try that! Since, I haven't had a good luck mixing or trying a DIY Strawberries & Cream that taste as it sounds. All recipes I tried my original and posted , either taste like Milk or Custard . My attempt to Clone Texas Fair from Longhorn Co. has failed however I nailed down that they are using FW Strawberry, thats all I was able to figure out.
Judging by the ingredients, this would initially smell like Raspberry and Cheese ! How much do you need to age this one?
Really digging this with Harvest Berry. I'm scared too try the Forest Mix because I believe it has elements of black currant in it and I can't stand it. But I will make another batch with it just to see.
I'm glad you like it! Be sure to experiment even more with it :D
It really reminds me of something too, some sort of berry cream, like maybe a creamsaver but also like starburst in a way. Maybe the berries and cream starburst!
Definitely a very interesting profile, I'm glad I picked up Harvest Berry just for this recipe because I feel I'll be using it quite a bit.
This recipe is outstanding!! I am one of the unfortunate ones who can't taste strawberry for more than a few vapes, however the notes in this one just continue to shine through. It has quickly become one of my favorite recipes thus far! Thanks for the insight and for the pure bliss that this flavor has given me for the past 2 days!!
You're welcome! The raspberry is what helps the strawberry shine for those that can't tasye it ;)
I just told someone yesterday that because of my strawberry issues that raspberry sweet has become one of my favorite flavorings so this makes perfect sense. Anyways, thanks again! If I were scum I'd steal this recipe, put a cute little cartoon image on the bottle, and make buku off of you! Haha
has anyone ever tried a pumpkin flavor as a rotating flavor?
Haven't done a strawberry cream in a while so th- ah, TFA VBIC. Never mind then. Shit.
