Anyone else still having issues with Vape Clarity nicotine?
submitted over 9 years ago by slapsack

So about a month ago i ordered some VG based 100 mg nic from Vape Clarity after reading here that they have really clean nic for a decent price.

A few days later it shows up and i wrap it in a black plastic garbage bag to keep light out and put that into a brown paper bag. I put it in a cool, always dark closet to store because i still have some nic left from Nude to use up before i open my new stuff.

When i finally get to breaking it out of storage about a week ago, It is noticeably pinkish now and harsh as hell. Did a test by making some juice with and without the Clarity nic and it's definitely the Clarity nic bringing the harsh. I am aware of the hot spotting issues with VG based nic and i always shake the bejeezus out of my nic when i go to make juice. From my base of knowledge, i'm thinking i did all the right things and it seems like the nic was just bad in some way from jump street.

Anyone else having this issue with recent Vape Clarity nic orders?

That nicotine has oxidized. Was it pink before you put it into storage? I've never had a problem with VC nicotine, but that doesn't mean there isn't a problem with yours. Is it possible the bottle wasn't properly sealed before storage?

The bottle was clear before i bagged it up and set it aside. I didn't open it at all before bagging it up for storage, just took it out of its mailing packaging.

Sounds like a problem with bottling then if your storage space didn't get hot.

Mine is clear but seems harsh. It's pg based. The sample I had of it before this was great. I got this nic around a month ago also, maybe a little longer. Never had a problem with other nic I've stored. I still have some VT stored that I went back to, and ordered a sample of CXT.

I just got two bottles this week and I'm thoroughly impressed with how smooth it is. No funky smells, no funky flavor. They're my new go-to for nicotine.

color me jealous lol. another thing i noticed was it had the same guinea pig cage smell as some other nics i have tried.

If they make this right i'll give em another chance but right now im bummed and almost out of nic :(

The guinea pig cage smell is a much better thing to have than the kerosene smell my last supplier sent me.

Interesting take on that smell.

I don't notice any difference at all between VC and Nude, which is twice the goddamned price

The bottle I got from Nude was exceptionally harsh, likely at least 2x higher concentration than labeled. I kept some of it to titrate.

The only batch I ever got from them was pink and harsh. I dumped it. This was in 2015, though, and I do remember a few other posts about the nic being pink and somewhat harsh.

Sounds like you did everything right. I assume your cool cabinet never got above 75F?

I keep my place at 68F and the closet in question is on the cooler side of the house away from the heater. If i had to guess, i'd say it probably never gets above 62f in there.

I remember seeing a post or 2 as well about their nic being wonky and them replying that they fixed the issues...was thinking maybe i got old bad stock or whatever issue they were having has reappeared.

If I'm correct, they ship their nicotine in plastic bottles. I always rebottle into glass bottles as air can permeate through plastic much faster than glass (albeit it's still a slow process)

Yep translucent white plastic bottles. While i don't think in this case air permeating thru is the culprit (double bagged it), thank you for reminding me i also need to pick up a few large glass amber bottles.

I store mine in the freezer, vg nic and I haven't had an issue thus far.

I put my Vape Clarity order (VG based, 36 mg) straight into my juice room mini fridge out of the shipping box and I've had no issues. Still smooth and perfectly clear, and I received it the first week of October 2015.
