Mango Meringue (M&M) Recipe
submitted over 9 years ago by Steepanddeep

First and foremost thank you to this community for providing 99% of the knowledge I use for mixing ejuice. This is my first recipe that I wanted to share because I am enjoying the heck outta it, seriously tasty stuff. I have made a handful of comments here but never posted so I wanted to start with something good.

I wanted to post it because /u/UncircumcisedWookiee and I were in the ECR Late night chat thread last night. I mentioned this mix I was vaping on and he wanted the recipe. All of my recipes are only handwritten at this point, today I had some time to write up a little something about it for you fine folks.

Finally the Recipe
MANGO MERINGUE (or M&M for short)

  • 2% Philippine Mango - TFA
  • 1% Mango - INW
  • 1% Mangosteen - FA
  • 2% Meringue - FA
  • 1% Fresh Cream - FA
  • 1% Marshmallow - CAP

Flavoring total 8%

I mix at 20/80 pg/vg and 2mg/ml of nicotine, I found it to be a good balance that works nicely in all of my tanks and RDAs.

Steeped for 1 week on my current bottle with this exact recipe but wasn't bad on earlier batches that I tried as shake and vapes.

Flavor Notes
Philipine Mango - TFA This is the main component of the mango taste, I found out about it here and as soon as I smelt the bottle I knew it was the right one for this recipe. It really is the best juicy sweet mango that works well as a base IMO.
Mango - INW This was the first mango I used for DIY and it is really strong, over 2% it really can perfume out a mix. It is backing up the philippine mango and hitting on some fresher top notes.
Mangosteen - FA This was an impulse buy when shopping on ecx one time, I do not regret it. I have eaten mangosteen a handful of times when I go to Asian markets. The are sweet/sour and really have a unique tart taste. It creates the interesting aftertaste on this mix, wouldn't be the same without it.
Meringue - FA This flavor is incredible at providing such a rich mouth feel that brings a depth to the mango. It does not taste eggy but more like a sorbet with this mix.
Fresh Cream - FA Helps back up the Meringue. It does not need more than one percent, but if you want more of milkshake taste you could up the percentage.
Marshmallow - CAP I do like the mix without this but for me some extra sweetness is needed. The marshmallow gives the extra smoothness needed to balance the fruit with the dessert aspect.

This recipe has been messed with over the course of the last 4 months, I have been mixing for a little over a year. I like mixing clones and other people's recipes, but ultimately creating something unique is really rewarding.

Any comments, questions or criticisms are more than welcome.

I will post some more recipes in the future in the Monthly Threads and such starting in April.

I have three mango flavors because I like mango so much, and here you use the two I don't have, but will now be ordering on payday in order to make this. The illusion that DIY saves me money is now completely shattered.

Mango has been a project of mine. I have INW mango, INW shisha mango, and cap sweet mango. On the way is bull city SC mango (same as VZ). I want to try HS mango next.

What have you got?

I'm trying to figure out if fa mango and tfa mango are worth it.

I have TFA Mango, CAP Sweet Mango, and FA Mango. But I'll almost certainly be adding Philippine Mango and INW Mango to my stash this week.

TFA Mango is no good by itself. I'm not sure how to describe it. Imagine something vaguely resembling a mango sat on a shelf collecting dust, not decomposing, just collecting dust. And then you decided to eat it without dusting it off. It's also a pretty weak concentrate so at low levels you don't taste it... But at higher ones it gets weird.

CAP Sweet Mango. Now, this one really tastes like mango. Like an overripe, bordering on rotten, mango. Sounds nasty but I've had a little luck using it at fairly low % with cream. So if I had to pick just one, so far this would be it.

FA Mango. This one also tastes like a real mango. Like a real mango that's so underripe it's as hard as an apple. Or maybe more like you're biting into a mango skin and all. I dunno because I learned the hard way what happens to people who eat grossly underripe fruit as a kid and I peel mangoes before eating them like a normal person. Anyway, it's no good by itself, but gives a nice mango aftertaste at very low levels. It'll never work as a main flavor, too dry, nice accent though.

So far the best I've come up with is a mango base that's 60% TFA Mango, 30% CAP Sweet, and 10% FA. It's great as a standalone, but if I push it up to high or mix it with certain things, it starts to impart some of that musty TFA Mango or rindy FA Mango or both, so I will probably revisit it with a higher dose of CAP Sweet Mango. But first I'm hoping INW or TFA Philippine will be my salvation. I really want to make juices that taste like the Mango Mango Gummies from Trader Joe's and those mango slush drinks with boba balls in them.

Thanks for the writeup. I'll follow suit.

INW mango is pretty good, but it leaves me wanting something else. The flavor is unique...not unlike a mango, but it isn't as bright as I'd like it to be. It doesn't really stand out in mixes for me either, and if you go to high, things start to get weird. It also has a dryness that I don't care for. Range used 1-3

Cap sweet mango has a better flavor than INW mango, but again, I want it to be brighter. It doesn't stand out well in mixes, and is a little dry to me. Range used 2-5

INW shisha mango is bright as hell, but unfortunately it doesn't really resemble a mango imo. It tastes like mango mixed with some other sharp, astringent fruit. And it really stands out. Too much so. Range used .25-2

My go to mix for mango was 2% INW mango and 2% cap, but it still leaves me wanting more, and would get totally covered up in my sticky rice mixes.

I'm hoping the Super Concentrate mango will show promise, and if bull city gets the HS in I will give that a shot as well, possibly posting a mango mega thread.

I may give the FA a shot as well. I'm trying to get a bright, slightly sour mango with a very slight unripe taste that doesn't taste as dry as what I have now. I may be limited by the components that make up a mango flavor, or I may need to add some sucralose to get where I want to be. I figure I'll just buy all the mangos and see what works.

Thanks for the tag. I'll have to add some of those to my next flavor order. Look forward to trying this. I've only had one, maybe two mango flavors, but really enjoyed it.

Sounds delish =) I'm hoping to get a chance to mix in the next few days and this is totally going on the list.

Thanks!

I appreciate the notes, and the recipe looks pretty dang solid! Will probably be a while before I add mangosteen to my arsenal but I'll probably be picking up TFA Phillipine Mango; I have INW Mango but I feel it needs some help. Noticed the same at 2+%. TY!

Mangoringue!

I love Mango but I'm missing a few. Placid an order next Thursday and I'll keep this in mind. Thanks for sharing!
