Which recipe was spot on with only one flavor?
submitted over 9 years ago by MaythamK

I was interested in making a pink lemonade ejuice, and started going through the vendors flavors to see what I can use, when I noticed a pink lemonade flavor concentrate. I asked myself would this one flavor concentrate be enough?

So my question to you guys is "What flavor did you plan to make a full on recipe for but were satisfied after that single flavor concentrate?"

FA Forest Fruit was amazingly good as a single flavor recipe . I forget the percentage but probably around 5% .

How would you describe the flavour? Like berries?

2 points

by surfishermanover 9 years ago

I am not good at describing at all , lots of berries , great stuff.

by strangeaover 9 years ago

Basically just a mix of berries. Its very sweet. Let me mix some up and Ill give you better notes.

FLV Pink Guava is pretty popular as being a good solo flavor. Tastes more like a sweet grapefruit but it's still damn tasty.

Just figured out FLV is Flavorah

Pink guava is killer. I've used it with botboys recommendation at 5% with 1%EM and man is it good.

This flavour is Def going in my next order

Sorry I should have clarified.

You've peaked my interested, who makes it?

I love FW guava stand alone. I'll have to give FLV a shot.

TFA Irish cream 12%. Fuck yes.

If I'm allowed to add a second flavor it would be Brown Sugar or Sweet Cream at 2%. Really rounds the Irish Cream out.

Ive vaped 90mls of Irish Cream 12% easy.

2 points

by MaythamKover 9 years ago

What's the flavour profile if you don't mind me asking?

4 points

by kernozlovover 9 years agoOne of "The Damned"

It reminds me of Baileys Irish Cream straight from the bottle IMO.

Im going to preface this by saying this probably isnt for everyone. And as it steeps the flavor changes so vape it fresh. I made 2 30mls and by the time I got about 10mls into the second bottle it was more of a sharpie shoved so far up your nose you were coloring your brain.

But to me its a sweet slightly alcoholy cream/milk. Personally I enjoy the alcohol notes with the cream because I feel it replaces the alcohol burn from the actual drink. I need to make more but I think Im out of TFA Irish Cream

If you dont like Baileys Irish Cream you wont like this.

Love me some Irish Cream. Have you tried FA? I only have that one, wondering how it would compare to TFA

5 points

by kernozlovover 9 years agoOne of "The Damned"

TFA Irish Cream is by and large said to be complete shit. If I didnt have a wierd obsession with it I would have to say the same. It doesnt mix to well with anything.

Apparently FA Irish Cream is the kind to have. My next order will probably include as many different kinds of Irish Cream flavorings as I can find.

2 points

by CheebaSteebaover 9 years agoFrugivore

Lol right on. I've only used the FA Irish Cream in a recipe so not sure how it is standalone, but it smells great & worked great in the recipe. It was a Cola + Irish Cream + Jamaican Rum (all FA); really good

by CheebaSteebaover 9 years agoFrugivore

So far I think the best one I've had as a single flavor (excluding of course concentrates that were meant to be a single flavor) was FLV Blueberry Muffin. There are definitely a few FA flavors that I would vape by themselves though

2 points

by BuryMeInSmokeover 9 years ago

What percentage are you using that Blueberry Muffin at solo?

I've mixed some up at 3% and there's not much muffin but quite a bit of overly floral and perfumey blueberry.

If you haven't tried it yet FLV BM goes really well with FLV Strawberry.

1 points

by CheebaSteebaover 9 years agoFrugivore

I think I was mixing it up at 4%? It was kind of a while ago. Oh interesting, I still need to pick up their strawberry, good to know! Been really wanting to check out their boysenberry too

2 points

by Forever_Nocturnalover 9 years ago

Boysen is amazing especially with their lime and sweet coconut.

1 points

by BuryMeInSmokeover 9 years ago

Cool, thanks. I seem to have problems with all blueberry flavourings I've tried so far, maybe it's just me.

Yeah I've been wanting to check out more of their fruits, the three (Pink Guava, Peach, Strawberry) I've had so far are all pretty good.

Why exclude the concentrates that were meant to be a single flavor ? Are these sold by a flavour supplier or eliquid suppliers? What are they?

2 points

by GunslingerDudsover 9 years ago

Flavor west tends to have decent single flavor concentrates, but they are very hit and miss. Go through them, find ones that look good, and search for reviews/notes on this subreddit, and other forums. E-liquid-recipes.com often has decent information on single flavor % and notes.

2 points

by CheebaSteebaover 9 years agoFrugivore

I mean like companies like Nude Nicotine or One Stop DIY Shop that have flavorings that are basically like a concentrated recipe instead of just a particular flavoring, if that makes sense.
edit: I wouldn't include them because I don't think it would be fair, since they're essentially either a concentrated recipe using single flavorings, or a concentrate manufactured to be used as a single flavoring. You also usually can't mix them with other flavorings like you would single flavorings

2 points

by MaythamKover 9 years ago

Oh yea makes sense, I just didn't want you to exclude any flavours from Flavour west, capella, tfa etc....

FA Tiaramisu is really good by itself at around 1.5 to 2 percent.

INW lemon cake is pretty good. Its a spot on lemon pound cake. Not very lemony, but it is pretty cakey

Have you tried fa nonna cake yet

I think people were looking for a fw yellow cake replacement and it's turning out to be more like inw lemon cake.

INW Lemon Cake is fantastic by itself at 3%.

Such good stuff.

Sine your a fan of the lemonade have you ever tried pink lemonade or any other form of lemonade? Also would you say it's a strong citrusy vape or is it a well rounded lemonade?

2 points

by Forever_Nocturnalover 9 years ago

I've tried OSDIY's pink lemonade but only at 10% and by itself it seemed thin and a bit harsh. Coulda just been my percentages though I'm gonna have to go back and do some more testing on it. Seems like it could have potential.

LA lemonade is just perfect. It has a nice citrus punch to it

I've been vaping this recipe lately. It's damn good! I'm bummed that it doesn't retain it's flavor after two weeks though.

2 points

by ID10-Tover 9 years ago

At what %? I tried it at 5% and thought it tasted like melted, watered-down Lemonheads candy.

2 points

by Vurveover 9 years agoVurve with the Swurve

By itself, 6%.

Taste is subjective. Not everyone enjoys the same flavors.

1 points

by ID10-Tover 9 years ago

Very true that taste is subjective. There's someone in this very thread advocating the use of TFA Irish Cream at 12% as a standalone. I myself love the taste of FA Meringue and FA Marzipan as single flavors at 4%; most folks only use those as enhancers in very small amounts.

I was just wondering if I used too much or more likely too little LA Lemonade when I tried it. I doubt 5% and 6% are going to be all that different. But, I've been known to peel and eat raw lemons and my two favorite alcoholic beverages are vodka plus juice of one lemon and tequila plus juice of one lime, so basically my taste buds are not right.

by BuryMeInSmokeover 9 years ago

If you're into mint and menthol - FW Extreme Ice (at 3% for me).

A lot have tried it via MBV but for those that haven't it's a mix of peppermint, wintergreen, menthol/koolada. At around 3% you get the flavouring of the mint and wintergreen without it being too icy.

I'm not even a big mint/menthol fan but this is the only juice I mix up in volumes greater than 30mL. It's the only juice I can vape for more than two days straight.

1 points

by MaythamKover 9 years ago

Have you tried caps cool mint? I heard it was pretty good on its own.

2 points

by BuryMeInSmokeover 9 years ago

No, I haven't, haven't heard much about it either unfortunately, a quick google doesn't bring up too much info either.

Outside of FW Extreme Ice the only other mint/menthols I've tried are TFA's Koolada and CAP's Menthol.

by ID10-Tover 9 years ago

So far, there are four flavors I've liked so much as a single-flavor vape that I'll definitely have them all by themselves again. Two are pretty normal, FA Fuji and INW Peach. I think many people could do FA Fuji at 3 to 4% as an ADV, and INW Peach at 1.5% tastes incredibly peachy while at 3% it can satisfy a craving for peach-O's without all the diabetes.

You're going to think I'm really weird for the other two, but FA Meringue and FA Marzipan.

Unicorn Vomit by FW- I call it white nike's. Just 10%... 12% makes it a little too strong going on perfumey. 8% may even work for you.

To me it tastes like a mix of juicy fruit(yellow package) and zebra stripe gum.

2 points

by TheCatHimselfover 9 years agoPâtissier

TFA Honeydew is great by itself. Which is good, because it kind of swallows up anything else I try to mix with it, except for TFA Spearmint (don't do that, it's gross) and menthol.

by SteepingTakesTimeover 9 years ago

INW Cherimoya. @5%

I don't know how accurate it is to the real deal, but it's REALLY good by itself. Creamy, fruity, and sweet. Awesome stuff.

Again, can't confirm how "authentic" it is, but seriously worth checking out.

1 points

by MaythamKover 9 years ago

Haven't even heard of the fruit before

I hadn't before I came across the extract. Apparently Mark Twain was a big fan of it.

Flv cantaloupe at 3%. Single flavor tested it when I got it and I loved it so much I let my friends try it. Some ask for it still.

CAP orange Creamsicle is great

What percent?

1 points

by Python4funover 9 years agoProud Sidebar Reader!

As I've found with all of the Cappella's that I've tried. 8% works great for me, but if you want more flavor and sweetness 15% is what I mix for my mom (she is still smoking).

/u/Vurve's pink lemonade recipe is amazing and easy to make. If it has to be a single flavor, liquid barn makes a really good pink lemonade but it isn't nearly as amazing.

I was just interested to see which flavours were really good by themselves, if you have a pink lemonade recipe I would love to try it out

Tfa - watermelon

I've tried Fw, La watermelon & boom by mb. Still have a bunch to try, so far tho Tfa's watermelon destroys the others imo. It's the only flavoring I order in 120ml so far.

I use it at 8% w/ randomly one additive to change it a bit like, sour, koolada, lime/lemon, berries, etc..

I've tried tfa watermelon I think its OKAY.
