Mission Impossible | Rainbow Sherbert

This has got to be the hardest recipe I've tried to figure out to date. I'm on version 8 and its definitely the best one yet but it's still nothing amazing or even that good IMO. I've tweaked it in many ways and I feel like it's just completely missing. Here's the reciepe "The sherbinator"

Rainbow Sherbert TFA | 6%

Sweet Creme TFA | 0.75%

Marshmallow TFA | 0.5%

Raspberry INA | 0.5%

Bavarian Creme TFA | 0.75%

Has anyone made a rainbow sherbert recipe that could help me out, or does anyone have any suggestions or tips. Thanks in advance because my head hurts when I try to fix it and it comes out worse.

I have been trying to mix up a rainbow sherbet recipe myself recently. I love the taste of sherbet, and the flavour i have been trying to imitate is the old flying saucers sherbet candy.

I think the cream base your trying for is too heavy for the tangyness to come through on the sherbet. I just got in some fa fresh cream and plan on using that with some torrone and marshmellow fa to get the cream base subtle enough. The next trouble is getting a balanced fruit medley to shine. I like orange as it has some of that tangyness with some sour. My personal preference at the moment is add a bit of koolada for a nice cooling effect on the exhale.

Food for thought. Sorry dont have a recipe but might give you some inspiration. Let me know how it goes.

Thanks a lot, I try to stick away from Koolada personally cause I am not a huge fan of menthol. I'll definitely try your other tips though, thanks very much

I thought the same thing about koolada, it doesn't taste like menthol at all. Just adds a cooling effect, definitely worth trying.

can you taste tfa rainbow sherbet at 6%? I can't taste mine at all and I'm thinking of tasting it at 10%

Honestly it seems the creams might be crashing the other flavors. Try reducing the creams or omitting some of them and it might help. I will try mixing this up later and see what I can figure out

I havent forgot about you. will mix it up just been tied up with work lately. Will report back in a couple of days after my weekend rolls around. I gotta throw a bunch of new mixes together anyway :)

Have you considered trying TFA Vanilla Gelato instead of the creams, particularly Bavarian?

I have not, I was thinking Vanilla Bean Ice Creme also instead of Bavarian. Yes or no on that idea? Or just nothing at all instead of Bavarian

VBIC instead of Bavarian cream might work although I think Vanilla Gelato has less of a vanilla flavor than VBIC. If you're mostly just looking for the smooth mouth feel, something with a weaker flavor might be a better choice.

I was just about to recommend TFA VBIC. someone was talking last week about something called purple cow. I mixed a variation, 3% TFA Grape juice, 8% TFA VBIC. My flavor notes say "grape sherbet"

HIC's Double Rainbow. Super simple, 9 flavours, 1% of each, all FA: cherry, raspberry, pineapple, orange, lemon, lime, meringue, custard, vienna cream.

Very nice rainbow sherbet, and easy to tweak if you prefer more raspberry or orange or whatever.

I would suggest sweet cream or whipped cream instead of bavarian, bavarian is way too thick and sweet for a sherbert.

Sherberts are tart. I will give you advice that I was recently given. Go one flavor at a time, find the base flavor first, then add on top of it.

So, every rainbow sherbert I've had has really just been orange, with some other shit in it. So think first what kind of fruit you want your to taste like, then tweak that percentage around until it tastes good.

Then, throw different creams at it, at a low percentage, until you find one that's tasty. Then dial in the percentages or that. Then, see if it needs any sweetener to round it off.

I wouldn't go above 2% unless you're trying to mute out your fruits a week later. TFA Sweet Cream has a tendency to be to crowd out my fruit flavors with its thick creaminess.

If it's only fruit, do this:

Sherbet 6%

Vbic TFA 2.5%

Vanilla swirl 1%

My advice? Instead of using a rainbow sherbet flavor, add each component of a rainbow sherbet individually and tweak it that way.

I think I should add Fa Lime Tahiti at about .25% to this to give it that true rainbow effect. But all in all this is a very good rainbow sherbert.

Raspberry sweet TFA 6%

Strawberry ripe TFA 2%

Sweet and tart TFA 1.5%

Bergemot FA 1%

Orange FA 1%

FE Lemon 1%

Vanilla bean gelato TFA 4%

Koolada .75%

add 1 drop sweetener per 5 ml

add 1 drop lemon juice per 5ml

2.12 - Vanilla Bean Ice Cream - The Perfumer's Apprentice

0.30 - Mandarin - Flavourart

0.55 - Lime Cold Pressed - Flavourart

0.65 - Raspberry - Inawera

1.00 - Lemon Sicily - Flavourart

0.60 - Orange - Flavourart

0.75 - Fresh Cream - Flavourart
