Capella Cake Batter in place of FW Yellow Cake?

Yellow cake was probably my favorite flavor bar none. Now I know why. I'm frantically searching for a replacement, and Nonnas Cake is not it.

What do you pro mixers(y'all know who you are) think of using Caps Cake Batter? Would adding anything to it help it? My next thought is to Doctor up any of the cupcake flavors.

I hope their cake plays well with others and holds up to a steep unlike a lot of the FLV flavorings I've tried!

I have this one. It's cupcake batter and I reviewed it in a previous post. It's been 1week so I will be writing another review tommorow on 1 week steeped tasting notes tommorow.

CAP cake batter is a completely different flavor. It's dense and greasy.

As you know, FW yellow cake is fluffy and sweet.

I've not tried and replacements yet, but some of the cupcake or muffin flavors may be the best substitute until someone comes out with a direct replacement.

Thanks for letting me know, I won't waste any time on c.b. then and just start working on the cupcake flavors. I really hope someone comes out with a new yellow cake, minus all of the sugar of course. I have a Poundcake flavor but I wasn't impressed with that either.

I just found out. I'm just going to leave cake alone for awhile. It's very frustrating because yellow cake was my favorite flavor.

Just be aware that Cake Batter Dip still contains Fructose, albeit slightly less than Yellow Cake. I'm assuming that's why you're trying to replace YC in the first place?

Yes it was, and I wasn't aware that CBD also contained fructose. Grrr...thanks for letting me know though. I think I'm going to back away from cake right now and concentrate more on fruits. Maybe eventually someone will come out with a suitably safe replacement for yellow cake.

I've subbed CAP cake batter for yellow cake for more than one recipe and they turned out really good in my opinion. It's DIY, doesn't cost much to just give it a try!
