Just realised I have stockpiled over 5L of nicotine
submitted over 9 years ago by PilgrimsRegress

I have been in a bit of a European TPD panic recently and have been buying nicotine each time I had some spare money. Did not realise quite how much I had bought until today when I went to put it all in 150ml brown chemical bottles with nitrogen for storage. Need to buy more bottles and I only use about 10ml @3mg/ml juice per day, talk about a lifetime supply.

Going to feel a right idiot if my fears are unfounded. On the other hand I should be able to make a nice profit if I do go 0 nic.

I'm at 3L currently. 30 x 100ml PG with 48mg. I will probably add an additional 3L and some ready to vape base until judgement day is upon us in the EU.

How do you store your base? In a freezer or without additional precautions?

Even if it's not the TPD that's shitting on everyone's parade, it will be the impending taxes on e-liquid.

I have it stored in these bottles and I have replaced the air in the top with a nitrogen gas wine preserver. Then they are in the bottom of a dedicated freezer which I have fixed a lock to.

I already bought my storage base in brown glass bottles topped of with nitrogen. But I'm still arguing with myself, if I should put them in the freezer (I don't have a dedicated one), or if my basement will suffice. Right now it isn't a problem, since it's cold enough either way. But during the summer it could be too warm even in the basement. An extra freezer probably won't be the worst idea...

A dedicated freezer will mean less disturbance and temperature variation so less degradation and more safety, keep your eyes open for a cheap second hand one.

I have read that a freezer would not make a huge difference to long term storage but I don't think it can hurt.

Word on the street is at the end of the year you will not be able to buy over 36mg nic (don't quote me it might be 48?). Without having to pay a 40 dollar hazmat charge on top of shipping charges. I believe all packages will have to come through ups of fed-ex. Now this is all hearsay but I will find the post and edit. This came from a post from nicotine river so I would believe they would know.

I live in the UK and our impending laws are even more draconian. No stronger then 20mg/ml and only legal to be sold in 10ml bottles.

If it all goes wrong and nobody can get hold of DIY supplies, at least you'll make an absolute killing on the e-liquid black market.

Yep my thinking too!

While I agree that the law is ridiculous, I don't know how anyone finds such a high nic content juice pleasurable to vape.

In DIY, we dilute the nicotine when we mix, getting a higher NIC content allows us to use less and it saves funds.

Is this for the US?

I have 1L of 48mg nc PG, which equals 16L of 3mg, with a habit of vaping 0-6ml per day, that is enough for the next 10 years and I plan on going down with the nicotine again next year. I also have half a Liter of liquid ready right now and another half Liter of 3mg 50/50 base.

I thought about maybe buying another liter, so I can sell it later on when you can't just get it anymore and I don't need any more nicotine.

Such a shame we are being driven to do this.

Yes, it is. Fuck the EU, in Germany it was just decided that Companies can keep producing however they want until this October and we can continue buying until May 2017.

I have one Vapor Giant v2, which is the only atomizer I use, and a ZNA30-clone and a Smok m65, I guess I will buy 2 or 3 more Boxmods, in case mine craps out, but otherwise I am set for the next few years, but I would much prefer it, if they would just fuck off and leave us alone.

I am going to teach myself how to make mech boxes and then stock up on spares so I won't have to worry about mods if all mine break down. Also thinking of stocking up on a load of cheap rda clones from fasttech as well for if the worst comes to the worst.

I was not at all aware of any regulation changes in the EU! Gotta read up on what's to come to Portugal. Might be a great time to test out DIY and stock the supplies in case I like it!

Where are you buying your nicotine currently?

I get mine from darkstarvapour.co.uk

I'll also have to stockpile some, probably just 1l will be enough for me, a 100ml of 100mg/ml already lasts me several months, By the time I run out there might be a big black market or I already quit vaping before I ran out.

I have a spare box freezer and as soon as regulation announcements are made for here in the US I plan on stockpiling and moving down to 1.5mg from 3mg which should make my nic last even longer.
