Weekly 'Suggest a Recipe for my Flavors' Thread - Week of March 11, 2016
submitted over 9 years ago by AutoModerator

Got a bunch of flavors but not sure how to make them work together? Post your list here, and our team of semi-professional mixologists will make suggestions for you! If you are impatient and want to do this on your own, here are a couple of good links:

  • /u/daath has a nice website that has this functionality, but you will need to register to make it work. It is not very intuitive but if you work with it you can input your flavors and get a list of recipes that you can make. IMO this is the better site if you have the patience to make it work for you. Edit2: to get this to work, first set up an account. Then add your flavors to the stash (under my page / my flavor stash). hit save. Then go back to the front page and click the link next to the search field, "Search by flavor stash". You can select a couple of your flavors and recipes that have those will pop up.
  • This site has a nice big search button with just what you're looking for.

Happy Mixing!

Awesome, I'm going to try both of these when I get out of work, thank you!

First recipe is good as a shake and vape, but gets a bit better with some aging. Second recipe needs some time to age.

Also, here's a trick... say you want to make something featuring Strawberry (Ripe) and are looking for ideas or exact recipes. Go to past monthly recipe threads like this one and do a search for Strawberry (Ripe) or whatever flavor you want. Control + f "strawberry ripe" and bam, you will find a ton of recipes and ideas for recipes to call your own.

I already plan on making some kinda cereal, and a clone of pinky swear (strawberry rice crispy treat)

Marshmallow

Rice crunchie

Fruit rings

Fruit flakes

Cheesecake

Strawberry

Bavarian cream

Sweet cream

Cotton candy

try this recipe out. it's good shake n vape, but definitely improves with steeping a week. you get a slight lemon - lime you know from fruit loops, but the creams and marshmallow makes it taste like fruit loops with a scoop of some vanilla ice cream. i personally really like this recipe. it's not my own, but it's one that I really enjoy.

Fruit Circles 7% Berry Crunch 3% Bavarian Cream 2% Marshmallow 2% Sweet Cream 1%

7% fruit circles???

by the_jiverover 9 years ago

yes, 7%. you can tweak it to your liking. it's not something that is set in stone, but i have found i enjoy mixing my recipes at 15% flavoring.

What are you in the mood for? You have a fair enough list that I could make a dozen different things.

At least give me one main flavor you want to base it around and I'll go from there.

Lime Tahiti cold pressed, I just recently got it and I have some base flavor mixes sitting and steeping for a bit.

Something more fruity not dessert.

2 points

by Vurveover 9 years agoVurve with the Swurve

Ok, you're first. I hope this doesn't count as dessert. I made it a dry cookie. Not too sweet.

Cherry Limeade Cookie Snap | % ---|--- Cookie FA | 2.5 Lime Tahiti cold pressed FA | 1.25 Cherry INW | 1 Biscuit INW | .25 Acetyl Pyrazine | 2 drops/30ml Joy FA | 1 drop/30ml

Good as a shake and vape, blah blah blah, give it one week to steep.

I just made it an hour ago and I thought it was pretty good. The cherry will calm down after a few days. Cookie FA will become a bit more complex. Lime will start to mute after 3-4 weeks, so don't take too long to vape it.

I only have a couple of flavours at the minute as I'm just getting started. Currently I just have:

TFA Vanilla Swirl

TFA DX Caramel

CAP Cake Batter (I have tried this on its own and am not a huge fan of the flavour but if there is a way to make it work I am open to ideas)

I had been making up a recipe found on here which included these flavours plus TFA Belgian Waffle but I am currently out of belgian waffle.

My question is what can I make that includes 1 or more of these flavours plus another couple of flavours, nothing too complex please. If it can be make with diketone free flavours too that would be amazing. I myself am personally not too bothered about diketones but my partner does not want these in her vape.

Thanks in advance

Well, what other flavors do you plan on purchasing? Or do you want someone to suggest a recipe then you're gonna purchase those flavors?

1 points

by riiskyyover 9 years ago

If you could suggest a recipe that includes just a couple of extra flavours then I will probably be going out and purchasing them to start slowly building my collection

1 points

by goldfish18over 9 years ago

You should really find a few recipes that you think you will like and that others here have vouched for, buy the flavors for those recipes and then go from there. I don't feel comfortable suggesting random flavors to you because I don't know what you like. We may not like the same things. I have a bunch of flavors I never use anymore because I just bought flavors I thought I would like. The correct way to go about building a collection is buy flavors for recipes you think sound good.

Getting my first DIY order in the next few days.

CAP:

  • Bavarian Cream

TFA:

  • Watermelon

Coconut

Strawberry

Dragonfruit

Belgian Waffles

Vanilla Bean Ice Cream

Cheesecake Graham Crust

Crunchy Cereal

Rainbow Drops

Bavarian Cream (I got TFA and CAP to try them both out)

Red type II (not my thing but I think my GF needs a tobacco flavor to get her off cigarettes)

I got Strawberry, Coconut, and Watermelon for my favorite juice; Tiger's Blood. I also like the cereal and skittles juice I get from my local guy so I want to replicate those too but those should be fairly simple. I'm also thinking waffles, strawberry, and ice cream too.

Anybody have anything good with these? The only for sure one I have is as follows;

Tiger's Blood

TFA Strawberry 6-8%

TFA Coconut 4%

TFA Watermelon 2%

A nice, simple, three flavor shake and vape that I've gotten from my B&M for month's now. I don't know their exact formula but I aim to closely replicate the flavor if possible. I'm thinking that TFA dragonfruit at 1-3% would help the Strawberry really pop as opposed to being mildly muted by the coconut like the stuff I usually get is.

by ID10-Tover 9 years ago

Swap the percentages on the watermelon and coconut for your Tiger's Blood. I've not tried adding dragonfruit to this but yes, a small amount of it could very likely help the strawberry stand out. Make two bottles, one without dragonfruit and one with dragonfruit at 1%, and compare them.

2 points

by RockyHarlowover 9 years ago

Sounds like a good plan. I realize now that the watermelon should be higher because coconut can be so overpowering

2 points

by RockyHarlowover 9 years ago

Well I finally got my order in and made a 6, 4, and 2% mix as you said. Upon initial shake and vape, it's too much watermelon for me. Like wayyy to much watermelon for me. I'm going to try mixing it with 4 coconut and 1 dragonfruit and probably no watermelon or maybe just 1%.

2 points

by ID10-Tover 9 years ago

Could be you're just not a watermelon fan, but I think it's more a case of not enough strawberry. Most recipes I've seen for Tiger's Blood have twice as much strawberry as watermelon. But what you're planning to make sounds pretty good too and that's what it's all about, being able to make what tastes good to you.

Right now. I've tried a couple mixes of the Strawberry, Kiwi, and Green Apple, but I cant seem to get the ratio right.

Strawberry Ripe - TFA

Kiwi Double - TFA

Green Apple - TFA

Cranberry - TFA

Forrest Fruits - FA

Sour

2 points

by Vurveover 9 years agoVurve with the Swurve

It would help to have a cream or dragon fruit to blend them all together, but try this:

  • Strawberry ripe - 5%

  • Kiwi double - 1.5%

  • Green apple - 1%

1 points

by strangeaover 9 years ago

Will do! I should have some bavarian cream and sweet cream (along with a bunch of other flavors) showing up Monday. If I added cream what would be your suggestion?

Also, I see dragonfruit in a lot of recipes. Is it good at smoothing out flavors or just goes good with everything?

Thanks for the suggestion!

I have all your flavors. Let me try something and I'll get back to you.

Dragon fruit works as an emulsifier in fruit recipes. Blends it all together. And it tastes really good

While /u/Vurve works on a recipe for you, here's a shake and vape.

CAP Honeydew Melon 6%

TFA Kiwi Double 3%

TFA Dragonfruit 1.5%

This recipe doesn't really steep well and I haven't quite figured out why yet so vape it sooner rather than later. Also, since you want some Juicy Peach you could probably dial back the Honeydew Melon to about 4% and Kiwi Double to 1.5% then add some Juicy Peach maybe 3% or so.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to make this! I plan on trying it out right when I get home from work! I will report back with my thoughts!

Same question to you.:

What are you in the mood for? You have a fair enough list that I could make a dozen different things.

At least give me one main flavor you want to base it around and I'll go from there.

I really enjoyed mixing 6% vanilla bean ice cream and 6% juicy peach. I'm out of vanilla so maybe something base with juicy peach!

2 points

by Vurveover 9 years agoVurve with the Swurve

Haven't forgot about you. I'm still working on yours.

Edit: Having a hard time because I don't have a lot of your flavors, but I have their counterparts ie. You have tangerine FW, I have Sweet Tangerine CAP. I'm going to have to do some research, and guessing (which I really don't like doing)

2 points

by Vurveover 9 years agoVurve with the Swurve

Here we go. The best I could do, since I don't have a lot of your flavors, is try to elevate your peaches and cream.

Tropical peaches & cream | % ---|--- Vanilla bean ice cream | 3.5 Juicy peach | 3 French vanilla | 1 Pineapple | 1 Whipped cream | 0.5

It's just a slight variation on one of my peach and cream flavors. Just fine as a shake and vape. I find the touch of pineapple very refreshing and uplifting. Kind of reminds me of a drink you'd have while sitting around a pool.

I'm guessing since you were vaping 6% juicy peach, you don't mind the harshness. If you do want to smooth it out, add about 2 drops of EM per 10ml

I couldn't give you a recipe per se, but I personally think something like a peanut butter vanilla gelato tired off with banana cream might be good, but you'd need to work with low percentages because those seem like really bold and over the top flavors that would fight for dominance and confuse your tastebuds.

by goldfish18over 9 years ago

Agreed, OP for a PB Banana Cream try something like:

TFA Banana Cream 4%

TFA PB 2-4% (depending on how much you like PB)

FA Fresh Cream 2%

TFA Bavarian Cream 1-2%

For a little more complexity try adding either TFA French Vanilla or TFA Vanilla Bean Gelato anywhere from 1-3%.

Here is my stash. Pour some recipes on me !!

Pretty limited stash, but for a vanilla cheesecake try:

CAP NY Cheesecake 4%

TFA French Vanilla 1-3% (depending on much vanilla you want)

TFA Cheesecake Graham Crust 2-3% (not really a good crust flavor, but it's yummy and creamy)

TFA Sweet Cream 2% (will add to the cheesiness of the cheesecake)

This recipe will need some time to homogenize and I've found that cheesecakes and yogurts (cheesy/sour creamy recipes) benefit from a splash of sweetener.

You won't believe this but I actually made this same thing. How long do you steep such a mix?

2 points

by goldfish18over 9 years ago

A week if you can, but should be fine after a couple days

1 points

by chaz393over 9 years ago

I just got my first order a couple days ago. Tried some recipes, but can't mix anything that I like. Looking for some kind of creamy fruity mix, but I'm open to anything. I've been trying to clone a Peach Yogurt from VapeMall, but I've had no luck getting it to taste any good. It's a very cream peach that is just amazing. Thanks!
All TFA:
Greek Yogurt
Peach
Vanilla Cupcake
Vanillin
Frosted Donut
Sweetener
Wintergreen
Hazelnut
Orange Mandarin
Lemon
DX Bavarian Cream

Here's my stash

I'm less looking for new recipes and more for flavor suggestions - flavors that are widely used that would go well with the ones I have / flavors that are essential to complete recipes I can almost make.

Also I've mostly been making fruity flavors and the occasional mustard milk, I'd like to branch out a little into creamy/desserty/etc.

Okay. Whoever said DIY is cheaper, he lied! haha This is the stash i have ended up with so far: http://e-liquid-recipes.com/publicstash/43994 I have bought many flavors to test out Wayne from DIYORDIE's recipes. I have tested his cereal marshmallow Strawberry milk, and loved it. I love fruity and creamy/sweet vapes, but whatever i can create from my stash would be fun to taste. Perhaps some koolada suggestions? Dying to test that.

Blueberry (Wild) (TFA) Strawberry Lemonade (HV) Lemonade (FW) Raspberry (TFA) Wild Cherry (FW)

So far I've mixed the blueberry and wild cherry to make a "Snowcone" mix which isn't to bad as well as a blueberry lemonade which is super tasty! Any help is much appreciated.
