Citrus flavors separating in bottle/tank.

Does anyone with a chemistry background or a lot of ejuice experience have some insight as to why my citrus (lemon usually) flavors are separating? Is there a certain level at which citrus is no longer miscible with PG/VG? My most recent batch was an 80% VG blend with a 12% lemon, 6% BlackBerry, and 1% sour... If the juice sat on my tank for more than about an hour between use, the lemon separates and coats the coil. The resulting first few drags are harsh and I feel like it's almost entirely the lemon flavor. When I shake it for a while it balances back out but will separate again if it sits up. Thanks in advance.

A large part of citrus flavor is oil. Oil doesn't mix well with pg and vg.

Normal.

Some additives may help keep the oils homogenized, but that's more complicated science.

Posts with brands listed don't help anyone, by the way. Post your brands in the future.

That makes sense. I guess I'll just dial back on the heavy citrus recipes and use it as subtle undertones and aftertastes. thanks. BTW, TFA flavors.

When the flavor blended together again, it tasted amazing. I'm big on intense flavor but have a sensitive throat. Doomed to either mediocre taste or a sore throat, I guess.

As someone who hasn't mixed yet (lurking and learning) but loves lemon and was very much looking forward to mixing some juices with lemon....is this a predominant problem with any juice that includes lemon? Are there brands that do this less than others? If the lemon is a lower percentage of the mix, with other flavourings being the dominant notes, does it still tend to happen? Sorry for all the questions...just trying to understand. FWIW I have a variety of lemons on my to buy list in differing types (for multiple uses) from INW, FA, CAP, TFA. I have also seen FE mentioned for a lemon but have not been able to find that company, perhaps it was a typo? :) Thanks in advance for any insight and I don't mean to hijack the OP's thread :)

Lemon in low amounts, in my experience mixes fine. Depending on brand and flavour, high amounts can lead to this problem.

Nah, just trial out a few different flavours, and don't get disheartened! Also keep notes but I imagine you're tired of hearing that by now.

This might not work for Eliquid, but oil should become solvent in alcohol. Adding a little bit of alcohol should alleviate this problem in juices. It's just a thought though.
