Just received my DIY delivery! Within 10 minutes had my first bottle of juice.

My mum in law has been looking forward to me making her a flavour to try so when my delivery arrived we had great fun smelling all the flavours and choosing one to make.

I quickly mixed up 10ml of raspberry using an e-liquid calculator app. 3mg nicotine, 50/50 vg/pg and we both tried it.... It tasted like raspberry! Woo!

She was very impressed and I can't wait to try more complex recipes.

DIY has my vote already :)

I'll give you a few tips I've picked up from watching our mixologist at work over the past 8 months.

  1. Become very proficient in detailed notes of EVERYTHING you do, especially versioning.
  2. Never be scared to think outside the box. higher concentrations, odd pairings etc. You may be pleasantly surprised what just a little bit of something odd or a little higher concentration than normal may do to a flavor.
  3. Buy a bunch of 10ml bottles they are cheap and when making different versions you will go through a lot of bottles.
  4. Steeping and how it tastes steeped is extremely important but it's rare we find something that is amazing steeped that wasn't damn good shake and vape as well.
  5. Plan ahead as much as possible for new flavors. Small sizes of flavorings are pretty cheap and with so many variations of something as simple as a apple on the market you want to make sure you give yourself a fair shot by having a good selection. If you can't find say the apple flavor that's exactly what you want start mixing just those together until you get the flavor you want then work on your recipe. This is one way to make your flavors stand out among the pack.

Enjoy and happy vaping!

This is what I got in my kit. I've realised there's only 11 flavours so I need to contact the company!

I'm a fan of fruit, cream and "baked pastry" flavoured juice.

Glad you're having success so far! I just got my first order in late last week.

One suggestion I'd give you is to get 10% nicotine solution next time. Just make the ratios easier, plus you need less of it.

Unfortunately 72mg is the highest we can get in the uk!

Thank you :)

I ordered a starter kit from UkFlavours. I don't know what concentrates they use, as it's all branded with their own name. I got 12 5ml samples in my starter kit. One of which was raspberry.

At first I used 10% (1ml) of raspberry but my MIL said it was a little weak so I added another 0.3ml or so... But warned her adding too much might make it even weaker/mute the flavour.

It's a nice sweet raspberry flavour. Not too over the top :) going to try it with cream at some point.

You know, as much raspberry as I go through, I'm kind of slapping myself right now for never going "duh, add cream, you moron" before reading that...

Are you mixing with syringes or with a scale? I spent my first few months of DIY with syringes and I finally took the leap into mixing by weight with a scale. And let me tell you, I've never been able to mix so quickly. You'll need to drop a little more money to get the scale and some bottles for the ingredients, but the time and effort saved has reignited my love for DIY, and allows me to experiment so much easier.

Either way. Congrats. Looking forward to seeing more from you on here :)

Cheers.
