submitted over 9 years ago by ohm-societyMixologist

Gooie-Ooie

An authentic, rich tasting, homemade Glazed Cinnamon Pastry

  • Top Notes: butter, icing sugar, baked pastry
  • Middle Notes: vanilla, cake batter, cinnamon
  • Base Notes: cinnamon, caramelized sugar

Recipe

  • Cinnamon Crunch (FLV) 3%
  • Sugar Cookie (CAP) 2%
  • Biscuit (INW) 0.4%
  • Cake Batter Dip (FW) 1.5%
  • Cream Cheese Icing (LA) 1.5%
  • Rich Cinnamon (FLV) 0.1% (Diluted ratio 9:1 PG)

Total Flavouring: 8.5%

Steep Time: 2-4 weeks

Development Notes

  • Cinnamon Crunch (FLV):

This is obviously the main flavor in this recipe and in fact, it is so good that it can also be used as a stand alone flavour. I use it at 4% stand alone and get a very strong aroma of baked cinnamon and grains, brown sugar and a hint of vanilla. Using this flavour at 3% will be bold enough to take the main flavor notes but also will be low enough to not impede on additional flavours.

  • Sugar Cookie (CAP):

I really love using this flavour to enhance a lot of bakery flavours, it does it quite well. The sugar cookie is being used here to add more body and depth to really form the cinnamon crunch into more of a pastry. Used at 2% here is to include its butter, sugar, hints of vanilla and most importantly pastry notes.

  • Biscuit (INW):

Oh Inawera’s Biscuit, how I love you too. Previously using Biscuit at higher percentages I found it is best at lower percentages for this recipe. Due to a longer steep time on this recipe I feel that if used at 0.5%+ will impart too much of its flavour. At a low percent it is being used to add depth and richness to the Cinnamon Crunch. Used at 0.4% will impart its buttery, cookie and crust notes that will further shape the pastry.

  • Cake Batter Dip (FW):

Well shit I love you too! Seems to be the going trend for this recipe, use only flavours that I really truly love. I’ve been on the CBD wagon for some time now and that’s because this flavour is very versatile. It’s a very versatile flavour and works so well in boosting creams, cakes, vanillas and cookies. Using this flavour at 1.5% will not only help aid in the depth of the pastry but will also play as an icing sugar booster.

  • Cream Cheese Icing (LA):

For anyone who has not tried this flavour and adores icing sugar and I highly recommend it. I use CCI in combination with CBD to really nail down that icing sugar glaze over top of the pastry. This can be a very dominate flavour and can easily take over a mix and ruin it. At 1.5% is enough for this flavour to be present but not dominate.

  • Rich Cinnamon (FLV):

No explanation required.

Additions

These can be used in combination with each other or individually.

  • Add Vanilla Bean Ice Cream (TPA) 1-3% to increase cream, vanilla and mouth-feel

  • Add Fuji Apple (FA): 1-2% for a fruit pairing

  • Add Peach (INW): 1-1.5% for a fruit pairing

  • Add Brown Sugar (TPA) 1-1.5% for further sweetness

Guess I'll be picking up cream cheese icing. I think this is a flavor I've been desperately looking, but not didn't know it.

2 parts Cake Batter Dip (FW): 1 part Cream Cheese Icing (LA) is my usual go to ratio.

With a good steep, it can add a very authentic icing sugar taste to your recipe. It's coats your mouth with its sweet, sugary taste and creamy, smooth texture.

Stuff is good.

Can Cinnamon Ceylon replace rich cinnamon? Maybe up it to .5?

If you enjoy Cinnamon Ceylon, I would say add it but Rich Cinnamon can be easily be omitted.

Cinnamon Crunch contains Flavorah's cinnamon goodness and by adding additional cinnamon, other than Rich Cinnamon, you will change its profile.

By adding Cinnamon Celyon you will either add more depth to the cinnamon flavour, or over crowd the already great tasting Flavorah cinnamon.

Holy shit I actually have all of these. I'll mix it up and let you know how it is!

Taste it after a day and let me know what you think.

Flavour profile will still be there but give it time for it to truly shine. It'll get richer, fuller and much sweeter.

Here's the ELR recipe for the lazy.

Thank you! I didn't hyperlink it because I don't care if my recipe gets rated or not but more so ifs being enjoyed!

I tried to keep this recipe at a lower total flavouring percent so that people can add and tweak things to more of their liking. Such as a couple drops of sweetener for those that like a sweet vape.

Thanks for this. Are you saying 0.1 of the dilution of rich cin, (so 0.01) or that you used a dilution at 1%? I could see that being either way. I enjoyed that churios btw, though I'm not really into CDS.

0.01 lol stuff is potent but does mellow out once fully steeped. I find it is always best to go with less than more. You can always add but never take away.

Thank you!

Ever since I tried Flavorah's take on cinnamon, it's become my only cinnamon I use. Such a lovely vape.

So, what is the answer? You put a "lol" after 0.01 and I can't tell if that was the answer or you are just mocking the apparent absurdity of one-hundredth of one percent.

Hahaha. I made a diluted solution of 9 drops pg: 1 drop Rich Cinnamon.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, it's pretty potent and great. I've only used it around 1 drop in 30ml so far. I need to take the time and dilute some of that, my MF flavors, and a couple other things this weekend.
