Flavorah Review

Got some brand new flavors from Flavorah that they are releasing. They did this as a favor after forgetting to add 4 bottles to my order (how dare they! My rage post is coming soon). They were nice enough to ship out the missing bottles and threw me some samples of incoming flavors. I thought I would review them as I have learned so much from this sub and would love to contribute more. Sooo…without further ado, here is my review.

All flavors were tested in a Tugboat V2 with fused claptons. I dripped right on the coils and tasted it with no wick. That would allow me to transition flavors without having to rewick. All flavors were tested after a shake and vape. I will post a follow up after 5 days.

Grape - .9 – 3%

I have been pursuing grape for a while now. I have had loranns, TFA Grape Candy, FA Grape and have been wanting to try INW Grape. I have always felt disappointed as they always captured a candy grape flavor more akin to grape candy (pixie stix) than anything else. I have high hopes for this flavor.

Taste:

I get some great grape. Concord grape to be exist. Maybe even a grape jelly. This flavor is phenomenal and will make great soda out of my sodastream.

Smell:

Right out of the gate it smells like fresh concord grape juice. That intense grape ending with the sweet rind. This one really smells different and does not smell as acidic as the other flavors I have tried. I excited about this one as it smells like real ripe grapes.

Initial Shake and Vape:

I get very faint grape and it definitely is not popping like it smells it would. I am getting faint purple grape on the inhale and a very pleasant grape taste that rests on the back of my tongue after the full exhale. It is almost like a cross between purple nerds and concord grape. I am also getting a slight pastry backround but it may be me and I will see if it is still there after a few days of steeping. It is a little rough on my throat but I do realize that I have a delicate throat and get harshness easily. I look forward to see what this flavor will become after a few days. Flavor does not remain for a long time. It is hard to tell on this one without letting it steep.

Lemongrass .9 -3%

This one threw me off completely. I didn’t know why they would set out to make something like this but it seems interesting. I love tom yum and tom ka soup from my local thai and know that Lemongrass is a wonderful aromatic herb. I have always loved the way it infuses food and not only adds a great aroma, but flavor as well.

Taste:

Delicious lemon flavor. No brightness in the lemon. This tastes like a lemonhead without the sweetener. I get a slight cinnamon red hot on the aftertaste (in no way overpowering).

Smell:

Wow, the smell was not straight lemongrass but I definitely get some cream off of this. Trix cereal definitely jumps into my mind as I smell this flavor. I get a very subtle creaminess to this. Initial Shake and Vape: Explosive lemon taste. I was really taken aback at how much flavor this was giving me. Absolutely no harshness for as much lemon as I am getting. The flavor really focuses on undertones of the lemon without the brightness (if that makes any sense). This flavor has a very rindy taste of lemon and it feels like I’m almost getting bitterness of the actual rind (but not in a bad way). I almost get a lemonhead flavor without the sour. I’m really excited of applying this with other fruit to add lemon flavor without the acidity. This will also make for some wonderful pastries. I’m thinking those pastries with the yellow meringue in the middle. I can see why they decided lemon grass as opposed to using lemon as a description as this is much more aromatic. This is also great as a lemon head shake and vape. Don’t know if it will become overpowering with a little steep. This flavor actually leaves the taste of lemon rind on the back of the roof of my mind and the back of my throat.

Gingersnaps .6 – 2%

This flavor I actually made at less because of how dark it is. It really scared me so I pooned out. I have never been a huge fan of ginger and as a Colombian, ginger snaps have never been part of my diet. I mention this because I have not had actual ginger snaps to compare this too…if that matters at all.

taste

Get nice ginger taste to this. No creamy taste on the palate. The cream serves more to balance and calm down the ginger.

Smell:

I get caramel tones off of this similar to the crunch cereal flavor (but not as intense). The ginger is there but is subtle.

Initial shake and vape:

Immediately choked. First impression is that this would have to be made at a lower percentage but after a couple hits, it actually works pretty well. Subtle ginger favor with a delicious caramel, creamy finish. It is pretty subtle and I look forward to see what this will bloom into. This seems like it can turn into a nice cookie (I’m looking at you FA) flavor but not like a butter cookie.

Thai Chai .9 – 3%

This one sounded good. I obviously have the predisposition to expecting Thai tea. I get why they name their flavors but sometimes wished they used vague names so that I would have preconceptions to what it should taste like.

Smell:

I get an odd smell off of this flavor. Almost like chlorophyll or like fresh cut grass. I also get a bouquet of floral background to this flavor.

Taste:

Wow, I still get that chlorophyll up front but much less with a delicious powdered sugar finish.

Initial Shake and vape: First thing I thing that popped into my head was baby powder. BUT……bear with me because it really opens up. This flavor will definitely make people turn their heads as the smell of baby powder really emanates from this after you exhale it (my wife agreed). So as gross as that sounds, this flavor is not bad at all. I feel like it is the most complex up to now. I would agree with them calling it Thai Chai but don’t expect chai tea off of this. I get almost a faint peach body (with none of the sweetness) followed by a floral flavor and maybe even a hint of honey (my wife gets much more honey). I really, really like this as there is nothing even remotely close to this that I have vaped. I would love to throw some creams or peach under this flavor to see how it can add finish. I would keep this at 3% as a standalone flavor.

Cupcake Batter .9 – 3%

I am excited about this because I have always wanted a cookie dough/cake batter flavor. I cannot stand cake batter CAP because it tastes like nothing but chemicals to me. I get that it is subjective as I have customers that order Strawberry Cake batter off of me monthly. Despite this, it has never done anything for me at all and has left much to be desired IMHO.

Smell:

I immediately get a yellow cake from the smell. It has a nice butterscotch mixed with werthers candy too it.

Taste:

This flavor is giving me delicious reminders of those yellow candy’s in the clear wrapper from the candy bowl at the bank when I was a kid. I also am getting some waffle crisp cereal.

Initial Shake and Vape:

Yup…waffle crisp cereal. This might be that FW yellow cake with no sweetener we have been looking for. I would love to see what this would taste like with some milk. I will try subbing this into bronuts to see how it compares. I get a good amount of good honey and milk. Flavor lingers for a quick moment after exhale but quickly dissipates. It can probably be extended with some cream bases. Flavor seems good at 3% as a base flavor. You could probably up it to 5% if you were going to do it as a solo flavor.
