Caramel of butterscotch "stone"

So the term seems to be out of use but you used to see recipes for "stones" which were base recipes for a certain type of flavor that you could then use to layer into a more advanced recipe.

So youd start with a milk stone and then you only needed to figure out the cereal side for a cereal recipe or the strawberry side for a strawberry milkshake.

Make sense?

Im looking for this but for caramel / butterscotch / molasses. I keep ahooting from the hip and im just not getting the proper % on this to bring it through in a recipe.

/u/thirdworldorder's ~~Creamy Caramel Custard~~ Imperial Butterscotch is a good start as a base. ~~TFA Caramel Original has real corn syrup in it, though, so I'd sub something else there, but it tastes damned good.~~

~~His eliquid recipe calls for 16% of flavor but if you use it as a base you can probably get by with half that depending on what flavors your introducing.~~

Thanks for the shout out. Since that recipe has sugar in it, I'd go for my imperial butterscotch one as that has butterscotch with a bit of caramel from the INW Creme Brûlée. It's also just a much better recipe imo. It would be great as a "stone" although I'd probably take out the graham cracker.

What would you say are the differences between fw butterscotch and fw butterscotch natural? I'm transitioning from custard/milk into more bakery/caramel learning and I'd love your notes on those two.

Butterscotch natural tastes less like candy butterscotch and also doesn't have that feint taste of plastic that the regular one does. FW Butterscotch is okay as a stand alone but any mixes with it in it end up being subpar for the most part.

It'll be fine, but you might need to change the coils/cotton a bit more. I only found out about the sugar content recently as well thanks to abdada's site

Shisha vanilla? Fuck yea. I bought it based just on /u/notcharlesmanson 's review. It's like a vanilla milk taste. Super delicious. A little heavy on the milk. Think something like tfa vanilla swirl with better flavor and body and betterness.

Edit: I misspoke, by milk I meant that thick creamy mouth feel. I'll leave my original text because I think it can be used in milk/cream recipes. But indeed I stand corrected.

Vanilla Shisha is a delicious, amazing flavor.

The closest sub is probably Vienna Cream with Vanillin.

Can't help with base recipes for a butterscotch but see if you can get hold of some FLV Butterscotch it may well do what you're looking for as a single flavour. DIYorDIE flavour notes describe it way better than I ever could.
it does contain a lot of acetoin (1400ppm), I've reluctantly cut down my use of it as I find it makes me cough if I get too much of it but that's personal choice.
