I can't seem to find a recipie and the brands of flavors of p.c. Get pretty low recommendations.
I would've thought that would be a fairly popular recipe. I may have to make up some real ones and work on a recipe myself. You know, for science.
C'mon grammy, you are no newb around these parts... mix something up!
Pineapple, coconut, rum.
Waiting for your recipe.
Cocopilada INW is a beautiful starting flavor. It's warm, tropical, and tasty, without the suntan lotion curse.
INW Pina Colada. Have gone from 3-7%, and the flavor never went "off", just stronger.
It's heavier on creamy coconut, with light but noticeable pineapple. If you want more, add a small amount of a weaker pineapple, like Capella. 1-2%.
A touch of EM to sweeten and soften, if you like. 5.-1%.
I been wanting to work on a piña colada recipe. Got a little burnt out on tropical flavors when I was testing out inw cherimoya but I'm about ready to get back at it. We should give ourselves like a week or two to come up with the best piña colada we can!
I make
TFA Pina colada 8%
TFA Jamacian Rum 3%
TFA Coconut extra 1% (or less)
Capella Golden pineapple 2%
Tastes pretty good, my room mate loves the stuff. Honestly TFA pina colada is pretty good by itself at 8%. I just tweak it a little with extra flavours.
I made a virgin pina colada for the mrs, I find it a little heavy on the pineapple and a little light on the coconut, but she LOVES it, perhaps this can help your efforts some -
- Coconut (CAP) @ 7%
- Pineapple (TPA) @ 7%
- Fresh Cream (FA) @ 1%
I wonder if I could sub FLV coconut or sweet coconut for cap? I need to use that stuff. Maybe if I started at half the percentage it would work?
I've only played with FLV Sweet Coconut a tiny bit, and yeah, I'd say less than half ... Gave me a stomach ache when I used too much because it was so potent, and I think I was only using 2.5% or something! I'm starting at like, 0.5% with that stuff next time!
Did you ever mix up a Piña Colada that satisfied you? I'm about to embark on that journey for what seems like the 100th time.
Not yet I haven't. The pineapple is my problem.
