Moving to zero Nic and questions
submitted over 9 years ago by HypoLuxa

Life insurance blood text next month so......

I did my usual thing, made my juice but this time with zero nicotine.

The usual flavor percentages and ratio of 70/30.

Here's where my question comes in. Then juice tastes "thicker" or 'heavier', hard to describe.. It's like drinking too strong of a slush puppy (for an analogy) and I don't get the throat hit (which was expected, but not to this degree)

Question being, do I move to a higher PG content for the throat feel, and what causes this thick juice feeling?

Thanks for any input or experience

You could go higher pg or look into Flash by Flavour Art. It's supposed to mimic the throat hit of nicotine. It's a little strange though, says it's basically a ready to vape juice but you can also add it into a juice you're making. Could try it and just put in as much as you would normally with nicotine and adjust from there.

Came here to recommend Flash and was beaten to the punch.

It provides a throat hit of sorts, I wouldn't compare it to Nicotine however. A couple of years back, a lot of UK juice companies offered it as an enhanced base with Nicotine and it kicked like a maul; which, depending on how you look at it, is either a good or bad thing.

Higher PG and mentholated juices gets me by.

Menthol gives you a throat hit? I add menthol to harsh juices to make it go down smooth xD

Not a throat hit necessarily, but it takes away from the "flatness" of 0nic juice for me.

Very true, another option that's very person specific based on whether or not theyll like it is cinnamon flavors

Without nic it's going to be very hard to get a throat hit but your best bet is moving to higher pg, or another option is harsher juice flavors. I'm not very experienced with making juice but I can tell you that some juices just hit you harder. For example, juicy peach from Kalamazoo vapor is pretty hard, cereal number by d squares (I believe it's lemon causing the extra strong throat hit), just look around for stuff like that or make another post asking people about which flavors are harsh.

Nah man you can get a nice throat hit just by getting a dry hit! U don't even need juice, wick ur setup with some cotton and go to flavor town!! Lol but seriously going higher pg and maybe putting more citrus flavours in ur mixes or just doing citrus mixes will give u a hell of a throat hit. That's all I got for help. Maybe try making a 50/50 of a citrusy fruit flavour like lemon or lime or orange to use in a tank, it will probably wick well... Orrrrr u can use a tobacco flavour cuz I find those super harsh even ry4 Asian by tpa give me a crazy throat hit even at 3mg with creams and bakery flavours added!

In my experience when I vape 0 nic I feel it's thicker because I'm taking much larger pulls to try and satisfy my craving. I could be wrong but I think it's because your body isn't used to pulling without any throat hit. I would recommend upping the PG or like someone else said using some Flash or something
Edit: Another thing that might be causing a more concetrated flavor if that's what you're referring to, is that your flavors don't have to work around nicotine to make it to your palate. What MG did you vape normally?

That's the funny thing, I was at about 1.8mg, you wouldn't think it was be that much of a difference but it is. I find it quite odd.

Thanks for everyone's recommendations

Rootbeer gives me that great throat it i sometimes need when I lowered my nic. I also know that 1 drop of grain alcohol or absolute vodka per 10ml will also give u a throat hit. I need to work on this myself bc i cant stand how smooth some of my juices taste at lower nic levels. When I vape at 8 nic it's great but when I move to a 3 nic I miss that hit. I usually vape out of a kanger mini or a crown tank both under 30 watts just to give u an idea.
