My first mix that i am going to do notes on and really think about. I am not all that experienced with most of these flavors so im taking some (educated) shots in the dark and hoping i make something good! I read up on all of the flavorings notes and recommended percentages and took that info into consideration. Id love some good feedback or suggestions on this mix, because id like to nail it in the future - having a good mix of this flavor profile would be wonderful.
Okay so im going for a tasty chocolate coated crispy cookie with a smooth creamy hazelnut filling; basically along the lines of a kinder bueno chocolate bar... but more like a cookie instead of a wafer.
Outer Crust: Im going to try and use a few of my different flavors to create the outter crust/cookie portion of the mix. A combo of sugar cookie, graham cracker and some brown sugar. Im hoping to keep it light, somewhat crispy and have a bit of an oily taste/texture to it as well with the butter cream. Used double chocolate as the chocolate portion of the mix... was split between that and chocolate glazed doughnut, might try cocolate glazed doughnut next time and see how it goes.
Inner Filling: For the inner filling I am using a combo of flavors to hopefully create a smooth, silky hazelnut filling. DX Hazelnut will be the main note of the entire mix, along with ducle de leche and butter cream. Hopefully the acetyl pyrazine will accentuate the hazelnut flavor.
Additives: According to my research and limited experience, both joy and acetyl pyrazine add a nice bakery, and nutty feel/taste to the mix. They also tend to enhance mixes that are bakery type ejuices so i decided to add these in and see how it goes.
Acetyl Pyrazine 5% - 1%
Brown Sugar (TPA) - 1%
Butter Cream (CAP) - 1.5%
Double Chocolate (CAP) - 2%
Dulce de Leche (TPA) - 3%
DX Hazelnut (TPA) - 4%
Graham Cracker (Clear) (TPA) - 2%
Joy (FA) - 1%
Sugar Cookie (FW) - 2%
Sweetener (Sucralose) (TPA) - 1%
70/30 VG/PG 2mg/ml Nicotine

Ditch the joy. It's a very strange flavor that only works well in a handful of cases, this isn't really one of those. I'd suggest dropping the dulce de leche a bit too, it's very overpowering in a mix. Try adding .5% FA cookie instead of the AP you have in there. Also, replace hazelnut with FW hazelnut; the GOD of all hazelnuts.

Yeah FW Hazelnut really does shit on all other hazelnuts, which reminds me that I really need to figure out what percentages of hazelnut and some MF Chocolate are needed to make a good nutella that doesn't scorch (just got MF Chocolates in last week).... Looks like I know what I'll be doing tomorrow
I agree. Joy works wonders where it fits in, however I don't think the slightly greasy, yeasty flavor would work in a cookie juice.
Yeah, it's more useful for risen baked goods.
FA Cookie, CAP Sugar Cookie, and INW Biscuit are my staples in cookie flavors. CAP Sugar Cookie, FA Lemon Sicily, INW Lemon, and a little AP10% is a really good place to start a lemon cookie flavor. I haven't gotten the ratios down yet, but I'm impressed with the flavor.
I may have odd tastebuds, but personally I would reduce DX Hazelnut to 1-1.4% as it is pretty strong and has a horrible bitter taste at 1.7% or above even after a 4 week steep. It has a distinct taste of 'that smell you get when you open vacuum packed supermarket meat' (to me at least). DDL reduce to 1% or less, it gives an alcoholic taste, similar to the first sip of Baileys Irish cream liquor (not the nice creamy aftertaste). Takes a while to steep. AP, reduce to 0.4-0.6%, or just omit entirely. Brown sugar reduce to 0.2% or omit entirely, tastes pretty awful in general. Sweetener, leave out.

Awesome, thanks for the input! Thats weird about the dx hazelnut - i found that it was actually quite a weak flavor from the times ive used it. But im a noob still, so maybe i drowned the flavor out with other ingredients in my mix?
DX Hazelnut is your main note, but how did you decide on TPA DX Hazelnut? It isn't really known as a great flavor.
