Building Pie Crust
submitted over 9 years ago by TheVapinFarmer

I find that more often than not I build each individual component of a juice that I mix. I have a really good pie filling put together, but I'm stuck on the crust. I have OOO pie crust, and don't get me wrong it's straight up pie crust, but I feel like something is definitely missing. It comes off flat to me. Thoughts?

TFA Graham Cracker Clear gives a nice crust sensation without being bready IMO.

I really like FA Apple Pie. The name is misleading, Very little apple if any. All crust is how I taste it. A good one to have in your stash, esp if you like desserts.

Came here for this, FA Apple Pie is by far the best (imo) pie base flavour. Add really any fruit to it and it just works. Not as creamy as TFA's Pie Crust due to lack of diketones and another aroma volatile that TFA Brown Sugar also has in it that carries some health risk IIRC.

0.5% TFA Pie Crust always works for me as a starter but it depends on what fruit is your primary flavor.

I'm working with combos of INW raspberry, and rhubarb. I will definitely make it part of my next order.

Thank you! I hadn't thought of using biscuit as an undertone. This might be just the tip I needed.

If you like the OOO pie crust and want some accents to brighten it up, maybe some AP, or FA Joy or Meringue, or FLV Rich Cinnamon? +1 for the FA Apple Pie as well, or maybe even FA Cookie.

Ina Biscuit is great too, but to me it's more light shortbread. Maybe that could work with OOO pie crust though, if that's what it's missing. I do an LMP than uses Cap LMP base with Ina Biscuit and Cap Apple Pie to get the base - layering a few flavours could get you closer to what you're looking for

Depending on the recipe, I'll generally mix TFA pie crust and TFA Graham Cracker Clear in a 3:1 ratio
