This is an experiment; let's see how it goes. It will be a strictly moderated thread. If it works, it may become a permanent feature.
Rules:
- Top-level posts are vendor posts only. No requests - violation will result in bans.
- Vendors must be on the verified vendors list to participate.
- Vendors may have at most two active promotions at any time.
- When the sale / contest / code is over, vendor is required to delete the top-level comment announcing the promotion.
- Announcing your promo in the main sub is verboten. Readers who want access to promos are expected to check this thread.
- Format of your promo is up to you - whatever works best. Text, link, PMs, etc.
Failure to follow the rules will limit your ability to participate in future promos.
This post will be linked in the sidebar for up to 6 months. After 6 months posts are closed to new comments, so a new thread will be created at that time.
If you wish to comment on this idea or its execution, there will be ONE top-level post for commentary. Reply to that post only. This method of allowing promos without cluttering up the sub was created as a result of feedback from an earlier thread.
Sure, let's give the new thread a little whirl.
Coupon Code "DIYReddit7" is always good for 7% off concentrates @ GGG. Mainly good for the lazy DiYers out there.

While I disagree profoundly with allowing this sort of thing here at all, I respect the rules and the way you've presented them here.
But I expect this will go a different way.
Love it. Could also post 10-cent beer night at Cleveland Stadium.
And FWIW if it does take a wrong turn, the post gets pulled. So here we go...
Wow!! I've never seen the 10-cent beer night, but one of my professors showed me the destruction of disco night.
Thanks for the watch, that was awesome!
Also, was generally against this type of thing here, but fwiw think the rules are very well constructed. I hope it works out! Thanks for always adding to the community!
Is everyone pissed off? The wording makes me feel like a little kid that got in trouble.
Edit: I don't mean to sound ungrateful. Thanks for all the work you do for us.
Don't make it a fucking thread, its so unorganized and useless. Won't be properly formatted, expired stuff will have to be deleted, timely, by vendors..
Make an updated spreadsheet and just put some guy in charge of it.
Like that honey guy
GremlinDIY.com - DIY Sale - Today, 7-12-16 only.
The coupon code is diysale and is good for 15% off your order. This is more of a social experiment, so there is no real reason for it other than to see how many people see this thread for vendors to advertise sales. :)
So, if you are reading this and want to save a bit of money today, head over to GremlinDIY.com and don't forget to use "diysale" as a coupon code.
Even if you don't need anything at this time (I know most of you stocked up during the 4th of July sale) please let us know you were here.
This sale ends at midnight Pacific time. Thank you for your time and your business!
Rich and the Gremlins
EDIT: Well, the final stats are in. After a full day of a sale the total number of coupon code uses still sits at zero. :( This makes the customer count that saw this, one. :) The next major sale is scheduled for the beginning of August for our one year anniversary. (hard to believe it's been a year!)
Was gonna offer you to post it in the main but that defeats your point. I'm interested to see if this gets any attention as well.
Please, anybody that reads this today 7/12, do us a favor and upvote Rich's post even if you don't order today. I'm curious to see how many people check the thread on a random Tuesday.
Ive got no money to start DIYing, but I am one of the people to check this thread randomly. XD Actually this is my first time coming to this sub :o
We're evaluating our sales and promotion standards for vendors that contribute to the subreddit in non-commercial ways. Sincerest apologies for the lack of results for this sale.
No worries, The sale really was to test the sales thread to see if it is being used by the members. I really do think that it will be used during a holiday weekend when they are expecting a sale, just not on a daily basis on any given random Tuesday. :) I just want to help out where I can. As the post said, it was more of a social experiment than an actual sale.
"This was a test of the emergency sales network. Had this been an actual sale, you would have been instructed on where to tune in..."
Gremlin DIY One Year Anniversary Sale - Coupon Code "1year" for 10% off.
It's not a mind blowing super sale, but I wanted to share our happiness that we have now been here for a full year! I seems like yesterday that we started the DIY business, and it seems like 5 years at the same time.
Use the coupon code "1year" to save 10% on your order. This is going from now until officially midnight on Sunday (But you might sneak in an extra order or two until Monday morning!)
Thank you to everyone that has been part of our success. We have enjoyed meeting many of you in person, and promise to do our best to keep the doors open and the lights on for many years to come.
I said on day one, and I will say again... This is YOUR store, we are just keeping it open for ya.
Let's have another awesome year!
