It's come to my attention that a lot of newb DIYers are afraid to post here because they're fearful that I or others will shit on them for asking questions even after they've searched and found no answers.
I'm going to first welcome you to the DIY subreddit, even if you've been lurking for years. Your posts and comments are welcome and encouraged, with a few warnings.
#Are you a Newbie?
Honestly, the sidebar has your answers. It includes a DIY Beginner's Guide and that has a link to a DIY Beginner's Kit post along with some starter flavors, recipes, etc. Please read the sidebar, all of it -- it is SUPER helpful.
#Have Flavors? Need a recipe?
Do NOT post a list of what ingredients you have -- see the next section regarding the weekly post. My suggestion is to pop over to www.e-liquid-recipes.com, create an account, make a "stash" and let it match you up with possible recipes.
If all you have are TFA flavors, visit this thread for TFA-only recipes.
#Afraid to post? Try the weekly threads!
First, if you've got a question and are afraid to post it -- THANKS! That fear is part of keeping the value of this community up, but it shouldn't make you stay completely silent. Your first attack vector for getting some help should be to post it in either of the weekly questions threads, such as these:
Note that these threads change weekly. I also suggest reading the old threads just so you can see how they do -- go to the search bar, first change "relevance" to "NEW", and then type the word weekly in there and hit enter. Look at those lovely threads.
#Have a recipe to share? Monthly thread!
Second, if you have a recipe to share and discuss and get input on, there's a monthly recipe thread for that! Check out February's thread here -- these are GREAT.
#Searchbar problems? Try simplifying.
If you want to search for information, try cutting it down some when you enter it in the search bar. Are you looking for an aloe vera fruity recipe? Try searching for JUST aloe in the search bar. Don't complicate your searches.
If you have a complicated search, try Google. Type the following command into Google:
aloe site:reddit.com/r/DIY_eJuice
This will help you bring up a LOT of threads, which might give you the answer you're looking for.
#Clone requests? They're accepted!
Third, have a clone request? There is a thread for that!
By following these simple directions, you'll become an active and even helpful member of the community -- which we need as vaping expands and as more people flood into this subreddit. The mods do a great job filtering out shitposts, and when they're too slow I'll continue to crap down your throats and impregnating your sisters. But maybe I'll also post a link to this very post, and hope you learn from your heinous mistake and convert to becoming one of the many awesome members who are looking to make the vaping world a better place, or at least a cheaper one.
#Starting a vape business?
P.S. if you're looking to start up a juice company, go to /r/ecigvendors or something and ask advice there. This is not a subreddit for people looking to make money, it's a subreddit for people looking to save money, or who are curious about the basic process of juicemaking for fun and as a hobby.
Your Shitlord,
A.B. Dada, GFY
I'd like to be an active participant (you said you want to convert lurkers to participants) but this subreddits format is just way to hostile. Aside the flavor of the week, theres no reason (IMO) to put all the posts in weekly and monthly threads.
If I want to search a flavor I get a list of weekly/monthly threads and have to search within that one for the specific post that contains my keyword.
On the other side, if I have something to say I want to attract readers interested in the same topic by using a title that invites then to join (for instance, people with specific knowledge of what's in the header). There's only a select number of people in the weekly thread and their specific DIY knowledge of interests might not be similar to mine.
Your message is basically :if you want to participate but you are not a big name, go play in the weekly threads with the rest of the kids.
No doubt you will piss on this post as you have done to the other lurkers giving feedback, perhaps that's also a reason for the low participation rate... Just look at the comments here, does that look like a friendly community?
> :if you want to participate but you are not a big name, go play in the weekly threads with the rest of the kids.
The OP doesn't speak for the moderator team. This quote, and your assumption is incorrect.
All we ask is that people follow the rules. These rules have been created over YEARS- without them, this sub couldn't operate any other way.
PS- if you spend more than 10 seconds looking into it, you'll see that;
- Yes, abdada has too much time on his hands.
- He's a dick......... to people who don't follow the rules, and the outright lazy.
- He's incredibly, incredibly helpful if you have a serious, unanswered question.
This sums it up perfectly for me (from later on in this thread)
> The fact that people are so upset at this post is hilarious. There is literally no reason to post threads/ask questions if you're just getting started. Everything you need to know is in the sidebar, and if it's not, just use the search function. That's how I did it, and many others as well. Everything you need to know is here. Personally, I like the way this sub is run. /u/abdada has been very helpful and encouraging to me as well. All you have to do for the guy to respect you is show that you've put in the effort yourself. That's it. > I love how people are unsubbing and threatening to leave. Go for it. Good riddance. With the amount of knowledgeable and helpful users in here, I prefer to just put in the work and follow the rules. > Thanks everyone for a great sub full of useful information. It's a shame that reading the sidebar and using the search function is not an option for some of you, but if that's the case, DIY is not your thing anyway.
Thanks for replying to his post. My friends and I have been lurking on this sub for a while.. We do not post and honestly, I doubt we ever will. I have seen some lazy posts from people who did not search or use the side bar.. But seriously, it is no reason to treat someone like shit. There are better ways to educate and possibly turn a first time DIYer into a contributing member of the community than shitting all over them and making them feel stupid. It accomplishes nothing at all and clearly there are enough people lurking that won't ever contribute because same perception of this sub. This post in itself proves that this is a common belief. Just my 2 cents from a lurker.
The mods have spoken before about the posts they've had to delete en masse because they were destroying the usefulness of this subreddit.
If searching and weeding through weeklies is too much work, I don't suggest DIY is a good hobby for that person.
I search through hundreds of posts every day and always find what I need. I rarely post here because the sidebar still functions very, very well and the Google searches add to that value.
Posting shitty questions doesn't add to the value of the community -- sharing your findings does. No one is going to shit on someone sharing what they discovered.
>I or others will shit on them
Mostly you :)
Actually being honest the new posters threads kinda suck. Most of the comments and questions get ignored by most of the people here. Its almost like a 'Noobs post here because we dont want your stupid shit cluttering up our reddit' thread.
> 'Noobs post here because we don't want your stupid shit cluttering up our reddit'
Yup that's exactly what it is.
Which I am actually perfectly ok with, but most people dont follow up by going in there to help everyone, so then people get ignored, and end up posting their stupid shit in its own post. I try to do as much reasearch as I can, and I havent posted any threads here at all because I know they will either get shit on, or alternately I dont want to bother people. But when I post elsewhere it goes ignored or at least unnoticed. Noob posts may suck, but I can understand why some do it anyways.
The weekly new mixer thread has had almost every question answered for as long as I've been subscribed here. It's an amazing tool for users that have questions that don't warrant their own thread.
Fair enough, Im happy to check it out now and again and see if my initial impressions were wrong. I love this reddit, would be seriously happy if I were able to contribute one day. At this point though, there arent many visitors here that cant answer any particular question way better, smarter, faster, stronger, and with more eloquence than I can. But hopefully one day I claw my way up to the top and contribute :)
Godddddddd, what a fucking asshole.
While I agree with the sentiment of this post. Trying to force people to not be lazy is an uphill battle you will not win. You (and some of the mods) are, in my opinion, over the top with this bullshit.
When I first started lurking on this sub, I didn't know what the fuck I was looking at, much less to look for various weekly and compressed posts.
Perhaps I don't know how much "shit" posts mods have to moderate, but I actually enjoy looking at Reddit much differently than you and the moderators appear to. But I don't mind just fucking scrolling past posts I'm not interested in. You always speak about how valuable your time is, but yet you're the first to reply when you see something that violates the "rules". IF that's the case, quit costing yourself so much money. I get that you get off on playing the role of intelligent prick. I, for one, am not impressed by it. But this is a public forum, if you think that's your role, by all means, keep at it. You're not alive to impress me. But, if the moderators value lurkers and contributors alike I would recommend they ask you to politely slow down.
Lately it seems like certain moderators and members of this sub are simply circle jerking themselves with inside jokes.
That this sub consists of 23,000 subscribers and only 100 active subscribers attests to this.
Depends how you define active, I guess.
I probably average just one post a week across several subReddits but I'll visit them all, usually at least once a day, to scan for posts that interest me and read the ones that do.
I'd say that makes me a fairly active lurker but you'd never know I'd even visited unless I happen to upvote or contribute a comment.
I get very well reimbursed for the time I spend on reddit -- both in freebies from many supportive vendors, as well as in actual cash income because of my polarizing personality that leads people to look into me which leads them to something I've monetized.
Polarization leaves a lasting presence. Yes, 90% of the world hates me, but the 10% who love me keep me in a good lifestyle and usually end up being friends in real life.
Seriously who even are you. I often see your name, and saying things like "yeah I'm working on such and such [exceptionally-innovative-concept-here]" - what have you actually done though, apart from massage your ego and insult others.
I don't suspect you're the type to take on board any criticism and introspect about it, so I'll just tell you: you are an utter piece of shit, man. Get off your high horse.
Well, I post here under my real name -- so unlike most anonymous people, I reveal my identity because Reddit is an active part of my income streams and I like my customer based to be able to see me interacting with them. That's helpful. I'm shocked at how many people buy from Redditors who are totally anonymous, but that's society for you.
Secondly, I'm an entrepreneur who likes to break down the walls of secrecy in every industry I'm in. I've been interviewed by business magazines and newspapers about my history in the past. If you're into secrecy, cool. Stick to it. It's profitable for manufacturers and vendors to keep as secretive as possible, and I take no issue with that.
For me, and for those who follow me and pay me for my work, I want more transparency in consumer goods. I want less opaqueness. So I work my ass off in every industry I am in to actually unlock secrets and then share them with those who follow along.
I've done some good work in the past 25+ years of being in business in helping others see through the many barriers of industry. My end goal is to get more guys out of the cubicle and into self employment -- that's why I do what I do.
As for me being an utter piece of shit, that's fine, that's your opinion. You're welcome to it.

Your sidebar isn't worth reading a thread like this every few days. The attitude around here does nothing to promote DIY. Either this place wants to be a resource, or it doesn't. From what I see, it can't make up its mind, and can't be bothered. Unsubscribed, downvote away.
Dear Shitlord /u/abdada,
I started actually reading this sub about three weeks ago, I mixed my first juices two days ago. I've had to ask zero questions because the sidebar and search results have shown me everything I needed to know. When my skills and knowledge have advanced enough that I feel I have something (including questions to which I can legitimately find no answers) to contribute, I will. This is absolutely the most valuable and informative subreddit I've ever used and I greatly appreciate all the work that has gone into making it that way. It's a damn shame that posts like this have become necessary.
Definitely not unsubbing,
A Grateful Lurker
Hey I appreciate hearing that! Keep at it -- and never fear posting your recipes, even if they're crappy. Just the act of posting a recipe and saying "this tastes crappy" is helpful to others, and may get you some good help on fixing it.
Better than posting a potato photo of your 3 flavoring orders and saying "I bought this and want to make millions selling juice what can I make?"
This could actually be a good idea for a weekly/monthly thread, "failed recipes." Because now that I think about it in the monthly threads and such people mostly post their winners, sometimes with hope of improvement.
Thank you for the post. I vote these rules be strictly upheld. It is simple, with the posts in the correct area, feedback and activity will be improved in all the areas mentioned. Without these guidelines the entire sub becomes nothing but noise. Content is not just new info or a recipe. Content is also good posts like well thought-out questions with proper interaction with the respondents.
I'm going to edit this to reflect when it's solid to make a new post, I think.
Great content helps everyone -- especially the lurkers who contribute nothing but MIGHT contribute if the content is good.
It's almost like people just want to see this sub devoid of posts aside from once a week or once a month.
Get over yourselves, elitist fucks. Unsubbed as well.
Hey look another DIY lurker who hasn't posted a single comment of value to a subreddit but just came to take.
You're not part of the community anyway so why does anyone care?
Thanks for not being a part of things.
A post up you're saying that you want to convert lurkers in active users, and now you're going through their post history and shit-posting them?
You assume I just "took" things. Good for you. All I've ever seen you contribute is toxicity, so it really doesn't matter. My original point still stands.
Some people.
Noncontributors aren't even people, they're just toxic leeches from the bottom of the swamp come to steal our Life Essence. /u/abdada
This shit right here is SO spot on, lmfao.
I use http://www.redective.com/ to vet users pretty frequently -- I have the Chrome extension installed.
That guy has had a total of 3 comments on DIY. Redective really helps me before I crap on someone.
This is hilarious. I honestly don't know why so many of you fucks get so butt hurt over someone expecting just a little bit of effort from your end. Countless times have I come to an issue making my own juice and merely waited a day or so for the same issue to be shit posted here. Problem solved and I never had to shitpost.
All in all, I believe no matter how many "new mixers read this!" Posts you create will stop the shit effortless posts that go on here.
I come here every day twice a day to see what people have discovered. What people have made, how it tastes, and how it smells. I get robbed of my diy experience when you fucks can't be patient about a particular issue. Effort will always and forever supersede success. Try harder.
Seriously. I lurked for weeks, close to two months, before I made my first purchase. I think what it is sometimes too is people are thrown off by reddit and forget that it's just an online forum. If you have what's even an unusual problem it's probably been discussed before and a search will usually satisfy. They just want to make a post and get the information right away instead of searching, which sucks.
Mostly a lurker but, the effort has already come countless times from plenty of people around this sub. It's when people don't care to look for it that annoys them. I don't let it get to me, but sure I can see why it would turn new people away. Honestly, it might even encourage the best type of mixing, finding out for yourself!
Most recipes on here just happen to be regurgitation of others mixing styles. I'm even guilty of that. Its probably for the best anyway.
I posted this so I can link to it on any shitposts in the comments. Maybe it will help a tiny bit.
Lol you already point to the sidebar. The side in which I believe needs an update on certain areas. I do agree that this is a nice addition to "read the sidebar" and read this comment. Still does not prevent sheeople from shitposting. Like I said, effort supersedes success. I hope it helps.
This subs just too elitist for me. Thanks to all you guys who do actually help people out. Unsubbed.
Don't let the diacetyl hit you on the way out.
Also, judging by your post and comment history, you shared zero with the sub but a single link to UK scales -- you certainly got a lot of help from a sub, and then took that information and shared ZERO of what you discovered.
Quality.
He's the asshole /r/DIY_eJuice deserves, and the one it needs.
I made my first flavor purchase, found too many recipes to try, and just made my first DIY batch all without needing my own post. It's more than possible.
MOST people who come here for help end up working things out themselves.
I wish more of them posted some recipes, but most people like to "protect" the recipe in the event they might start their own juice line.
Then again, guys like /r/GremlinDIY have posted recipes of their actual juices they sell, so there's a lot of disconnect in why people post a recipe or don't.
I wanted to comment in that "not-a-rebuttal" post countering the assertion that /u/abdada has only ever offered "a few comments regarding scale calibration" by way of being helpful, calling bullshit, but I felt like it was better served here.
If people would just wipe the butthurt tears from their eyes and actually read this subreddit, (or hell, just this post) you would see that this a clear case of confirmation bias. If you think he's being an unhelpful dick all the time, then that's because its what you want to see.
A couple of weeks ago (?) someone posted something about MF flavors, and he was going way out of his way to help them as he was leaving his vacation destination, while simultaneously fielding pitchforks in another thread. I wanted to point it out then, and I regret now not doing so.
That said, if you decide to make a Che Guevara style $7 tee with the tag: "señor mierda" on it, I'll buy the shit out of it, and wear it with pride.
Just order that tee and mention it in the "customization" section on every page -- every design is 100% customizable (within some reason, someone wanted met o make an ascii text map of australia, took me like 12 hours to make it perfect, ugh).
Appreciate your kind comment, I remember that day. It was frustrating but I held out.
Just FYI & FWIW, if I remember my Spanish classes correctly (last I took was in '93, so old enough to vote/drink/go to war and almost old enough to rent a car) Señor Mierda world just mean Mr. Shit. For "lord" you want Dõn but Dõn Mierda really just means Sir Shit, so I guess Dõn de la Mierda might work best?
I'm looking to clone my favorite juice, Magic Muffin from my local B&M. Any tips would be appreciated.
I've smelled a lot of magic muffins in my life and I guarantee it's mostly Trimethylamine.
the people upset are normally the ones that just want to be spoon fed the info they need, and it seems pretty bratty to me. the sub provides a great deal of info in the sidebar and the submission history, but yet people feel like it's their right to bypass all the dirty work.
The entitled Redditor is bad.
The entitled vaper is worse.
Merge the two and it's chaos.
And, yes, I agree -- people assume they should be served on hand and foot, even if they bring no value to society. It's what shit like the Talia Jane crap happens every day.
That's how I feel 100% -- and your comment is why I have you tagged as "good vaper" in green!
Keep on your DIY hunt, and don't hesitate to post here if you do have a question that your research didn't bring an answer for.
While I can understand that some people may feel nervous about posting here, if you follow the rules and ask questions you will not be shat on! I think people need to remember what DIY actually stands for jah feel
I don't think most people know what DIY stands for.
"Do It, Numbnuts" maybe.
I work retail and over the past few years have realized most people are just fucking stupid sheep. I work in a spice and tea shop, and every fucking day people come in and ask "what's good here?". I just want to slap them and say your the chef dumbo your the one who makes it good or not. Here have some ghost chile powder put half a pound in your next batch of chili I promise it'll be good. Some people just have no initiative to figure things out for themselves and have to be told how to think and how to act.
Great post! I'm a very run of the mill mixer, can follow a recipe but I'm not that inventive in mixing my own.
I wouldn't walk into a restaurant ask them to show me how to use a knife/where to buy ingredients then whine that the chef is being all 'elitist' when he tells me to fuck off out the kitchen.
This place has given me loads of quality recipes and all I've had to do is read a little and give it a fucking go!
The amount of quality recipes here is stunning. We've lost a few because people got fed up and left, but there's still so much valuable information to be sorted, searched for and shared on top of.
Please do post your 'run of the mill' recipes when you make some new ones or adapt on those you've found. Every new recipe gives people something to try, judge, comment on and maybe adapt from.
I don't know guys. I understand people getting butthurt, but I do understand how annoying it is seeing the same thread being made every 5 minutes when the information is already archived in the sidebar. Or in search. It just gets annoying seeing the same shit, and then seeing threads about people whining about our responses. I don't want this place to turn into ecr, but I don't have a solution either
The mods do a great job weeding out the disasters. I think that's mostly what's needed.
Stepping on a guy's neck just tends to work better in the long run. There are many users who have thanked me for shitting on their shitposts and pushed then to learn to research.
hi guys i just started vaping one month ago and i want to start a business. any tips would b eappreciated much thanks
I just want to say that I appreciate this post. It should be stickyed to the side bar as "How to post properly on this site". I scan this sub reddit daily and most of the posts I see here are "I just bought a bunch of flavors tell me what to do with them" or "I wish there was a place I could put my flavors in and it would tell me what I can make from them" or "I like Joe's mountain piss how do I Make it".
It gets trying when you come here to learn how to be a better mixer and the noobe's have filled the site with junk posts and could answer their own questions if they weren't so damn lazy but they expect us to be just like ecr and when they find were not they get all upset and offended. I think most of those type of posts deserve to receive shit for being such a stupid dickhead. Whats so strange to me is they get all upset when they do. It's like they are some special entitled person who should be allowed to ask what ever they want and not receive what they get.
Then you have some pussy feeling sorry for them and wanting us to accept them and politely answer there stupid questions. FUCK THAT!!! I'm not going to be polite to someone who is to stupid or lazy to spend the time to learn.
If you have a legitimate question we will answer it but if your to lazy to find the answers to the basic questions then you get what you deserve.
Agreed. I do love the idea of the DIY community which is why I spend so much time crapping on the shitposters -- I don't want them running away, I want them aligning with creating a better experience for everyone.
Seems you hurt someone's feelings and they went through downvoting you everywhere... but this is the exact sentiment that I approach this subreddit with. This is an awesome community. The best in DIY as far as I'm concerned. I don't want to see it go down the shithole with shitposts.
It may surprise new readers here, but there once was a time when ECR wasn't a worthless festering sore on the ass of vaping. But they embraced the shit and giveaways, and the shitty people that show up just for shit and giveaways. We need to weed out those that don't fit in here, but I'd rather see them convert into useful members of the community.
Lol I tend to have a lot of downvoting brigades as well as a few haters with downvote bots.
The admins of reddit seem to consistently shadowban a few of my haters every few months, so I let the system do its own work as designed and ignore the karma rainbow points. It appears I'm about a few thousand karma the past few weeks so obviously there is some self correcting going on behind the scenes.
I do think DIY needs to be more culled than ECR -- this is a community that can be a great hobby but it requires more than just busting in and demanding answers.
People have a very good reason to be terrified of " abdada " , rumor has it that he once killed a man for simply asking him for the time of day , the timeseeker has not been seen since and authorities fear the worst .
Every person you're referring to here is kinda pathetic. Oooh someone was mean to you on the internet because you want to be part of a community and don't want to do any work? Boo hoo. I have learned a shitload from this sub without posting anything yet, it just takes a little effort.
That's the same type of person who calls for crucifixions because a small one man eliquid company doesn't ship an order within 5 minutes when it's placed Sunday at 2am lol.
For what it's worth, I'm glad the rules are set up the way they are, and I think you're a self important asshole. There's room for both!
I really do prefer douchebag to asshole. I do listen to people, more often than the haters realize. And I do try to help people who have obviously taken a step to helping themselves first -- way more often than the haters want to admit.
Haha exactly. Where's my orderrrr? Half of these grown ass adults sound like my 6 year old boys, always whining. I don't understand. Especially the trolls who copy your username... I mean, it really hurt their feelings enough that they felt they had to make an account? So stupid.
This sub is like the DMV. I hate how it is ran but there is so much value here that it is absolutely worth dealing with it. Great insight from everyone involved!
There is no end to the extent that people are looking for a handout. At my place of employment, I go out for a 15 minute vape break and I usually have 3-6 different mixes that I'm working on. When people comment on the juice I carry, I've made the mistake of telling them that I DIY. I get the following two questions every time: "oh I bet that saves you a ton of money!" (to which my response is 'yep, a fuck ton.') and then "how do you make it?" (which results in my painfully stating that I put the desired amounts of the desired ingredients in a container of my choice and shake said container). If they press, I get a third question: "how do you know what to put in?" My response to this one is generally along the lines of 'oh I search the Internet.' I might even tell people about this sub. But as soon as I mention 'research,' I am met with blank stares and glazed over expressions. My coworker has mentally checked out. This money-saving fun idea just became work. These people never ask me about DIY again until they forget that they asked me about it 30 days prior. I don't know what these people expect. Oh am I to just verbally give you all of the urls that i go to to purchase nic/vg/pg/bottles/flavorings?! Am I to explain my creative process-driven research projects as I'm out here trying to work on that process by sampling my current works in progress?! Fuck that. I accept cash. It's $5 for 30 mls. My price is low because I'm a nice guy. See you tomorrow.
I read over the posts and other materials available on this sub before I decided that DIY was right for me. Because I read the content here, I knew who to ask in order to get the answers I sought. I asked myself and I found my answers. I found my answers because I looked for them. If I couldn't do that, then I knew that I couldn't DIY. I want informative content and I want inspiration. I want to make better juice and that is why I am still here. I don't want to wade through a crowd of beggars to get what I seek here. This is why I agree with the approach taken in this post.
Yup I get those same queries, and I also just tell them to buy my blends and I'll include the recipes with it. And when they continue to buy them, I realize they're just too lazy to do it themselves.
This sub is fantastic. That being said, I have a hard time sleeping, so I read every thread on here on my mobile at night. If there's nothing new, I'll let flavor notes help put me to sleep. Thanks for all your awesome findings, technics, recipes and such. This sub has kept my vape filled, gotten me well into a great hobby that my life was seriously lacking. Keep that shit up. I'd probably ask questions if I had any. So thanks again from my family.
Thanks for making this for me and others like me! Heavy lurker on this sub since it is seemingly so strict and I don't want to step on toes but these will be good places to start participating! Glad I could raise a bit of awareness on the perception of the subreddit, and this is a great direction to take it. Great job /u/abdada !
Ninja- Ayy its even got the aloe question from our conversation on ecr! Fantastic
I just want to see more lurkers convert to active -- because we as an industry are gaining ground in the vape world, and it's going to be a shovel of shitposts turning into a wheelbarrow of diarrhea if we don't contain it.
For sure- definitely gonna comment in some weeklies with my current recipes and my opinions of them and see what people think. (A newbie, but I don't just clone off the internet) I really like the idea of keeping the DIY aspect clean as in spreading of information, new flavor precautions, etc. without turning it into /r/vaping or some bs vaping nonsense subreddit with half the front page covered in threads most people don't care about.
Thanks for that.
The reason I respond with such vitriol to violators of the sidebar is that I hope it engages them to pay attention so we can keep this community useful. Other people just roll their eyes, downvote and move on -- not considering how the search results get cluttered with shitpost after shitpost.
I hope that when I do shit on a bad poster, they delete the post and repost elsewhere where its proper so that the search results can eventually become more useful.
This is such a beautiful thread.
Thanks, FastTech will be cloning it in about 9 minutes for 90% off the price.
If you want a clone recipe for this post, post in the clone requests threads.
This post DOES taste like sour lemon, and it never steeps away.
May I make a suggestion? Fuck you I'm going too anyway. Reddit has the upvote and downvote feature to fix many of these problems. You upvote it, it moves closer to the top, (The place people see first) you downvote it and it goes to the bottom, (The Barron wasteland of page 2) if everyone here used these things, we wouldn't need mods to go through and delete posts nearly as often. they would be moved from the immediately viewd area (page 1) That being said, I think we should make rule no 1: use upvote\downvote. This would highlight good content, and hide the bad. Now let's be honest, this sub isn't as big as it could or should be. If we could get more people to join in here, it would make the upvote/downvote system even more efficient. Also bringing the more important benefit of new users to provide new content. We need to focus less on "rules" and more on bringing in new members, making for better posts and more efficient upvote and downvotes.
I hate this post. I mainly lurk on this sub, I started diy like 9 months ago and figured it out on my own. I use this subreddit as a resource, I search through it constantly while mixing. And what I see is so much fucking negativity. On multiple occasions I've read a thread, read a comment, thought, "what an asshole", look at the username, and it's you, or one of your buddies. It constantly dissuades me from contributing to the sub, and I'm sure it does for others as well!
