Just thought everyone might be interested in this. With all the negativity out there, it's nice to see a study showing what some of us already know/believe.

Link to actual study for those who want to read the real thing before reading somebody's summary.
study should be renamed to "unrealistically conservative puffs of gas station e-cigarettes seem to show no cell toxicity". You can't really extrapolate antiquated technology like this into modern devices which emit around 5-10x more vapor, with far greater flavor diversity and concentration strength in the aerosol. There are also seem serious limitations using the robot with cell tissue compared to humans, which the study even acknowledges in the contrasting findings between different researchers.
Yea, it's pretty safe to say that not all vaping is completely harmless. There are too many variables to ever draw such a conclusion. Realistic studies are needed, until then we're the guinea pigs :P
Actually, it's pretty dangerous to say that. Truth.org, and the rest of those assholes will grasp any straws they can. Going around saying "Yeah, vaping is kinda maybe sorta not completely safe" is enough for them to buy billboards and commercials telling everyone that Chantix and analogs are safer than vaping.
Just look at how quickly Rip Trippers' video has started being used as ammo by the anti-vapers.
TBH, I've never heard of anyone being permanently harmed by vaping, unless it was defective product, or user error, and the majority of those are user error.
People like that will twist your words no matter what you say, and in that light it's probably worse to act ignorant and be forced to eat your words than be straight up about it. I see what you're saying, but we can't be silent in fear of backward conservatives.
Harm? Too soon. Too little research. Cigarettes don't kill people right away, the damage comes from very long term exposure. Some people have vaped for a decade now, but the way we vape has changed drastically in very short time. Some vape extracts, some ignore warnings about diketones, some may dilute their juice with tap water, some may use bleached cotton for wicks, some may dry burn their nickel coils, rust in the tank, unexpected chemical reactions, buildup of toxins and bacteria, allergies, the potential for problems is endless. All we can do is use sound judgement and avoid the obvious hazards as much as possible while waiting for more studies and reports. Beside that, only time can tell, and I prefer to be realistic about it.
link to study was forgotten
hmmm, i put it in the url place when i wrote my post, any idea what went wrong? I'll try again
If you tried to do a combo link and text post (url in the link tab, text in the text tab), that doesn't work. It's one or the other.
I suggest doing what you did here. Make a text post and include the link in the body of the post. Link posts are pretty much frowned upon here.
gotcha, thanks. i've never tried it that way before and so I did not know that. I thought it would stick it in the body, my bad. And I do know that, been around a while. ;) thanks for your help. I will remember that for future ref. I don't post much, unless I find it interesting, or informative
