This list primarily encompasses base flavors and flavors used more commonly than not. This is obviously subject to opinion based on your preferences. With that said, the flavorings listed will generally be considered good to best for the style.
The goal ultimately being to help beginners acquire the right flavorings they need to get their collection started and start experimenting, then to buy more flavors to tweak to their preference.

Not bad, not a bad list at all..
...except cap peanut butter. That shit's straight burned popcorn no matter what.
Sheesh, let me go check to see which one I have. It's definitely not a burnt peanut butter taste.
Agree about PB. And I don't think that you saw TFA Cheesecake...
I love most things CAP, but peanut butter is definitely not one of them
Yuppppp. Took it off the list. I must be losing my mind.
Mix it at a low percentage with TPA Peanut Butter. You're welcome. :)
Nothing can help burnt popcorn except just not using it. I taste it no matter what, as low as .2%
TPA PB is so much better than Cap. Still waiting to get my hands on some FLV PB.
went ahead and arranged this by manufacturers

I literally bought 98% of this list about 5 minutes ago. He/She has been a HUGE help in my start with DIY. Can't wait to get all the flavors and try my first mix lol.
Glad to help! I definitely learned the hard way myself. Threw away a couple hundred dollars or so just acquiring basic flavors. There is a lot of information to comb through when you first start.
Hopefully this list can help you and others to keep from making the same mistakes I did.

^^^And ^^^I ^^^just ^^^checked ^^^a ^^^few ^^^minutes ^^^ago, ^^^I ^^^have ^^^a ^^^penis.
Great list, but I'd definitely add LA Banana Cream. It's a staple in fruit mixes, making a great base on which to build other flavors.
Also, FLV Vanilla Custard, Pink Guava, and FW Hazelnut. Vanilla custard because it's very fresh and delicious, Pink guava because it's a great single flavor, and FW Hazelnut because it's so versatile.
I'd also replace TFA Juicy Peach with FA White Peach or FLV Peach. TFA Juicy Peach can have some harsh notes that are off-putting, and since buying the other two that I mentioned, I haven't used TFA Juicy Peach.
And I'd like to see the sweeteners removed as I feel that no newbie should be using sweeteners in their juices. If you use sweetener too early, it ends up being a crutch that severely reduces the quality of your mixes.
LA banana cream is listed as the alternate to tfa banana cream if you go check.
I agree, FA white peach is very nice. I had trouble deciding which one to include on the list because juicy peach is just so damn tasty despite the harshness. I included both on the list I sent to shavemeshavers, pretty much with the exact notes you listed.
FLV. Great flavors. Hard to get a hold of.
Edit: Thinking on it more, if someone were to see this list without the notes I made or doing any further research, buying juicy peach could be a very off-putting experience. Due to that, I'll change juicy peach to FA peach.
TFA Banana Cream and LA Banana Cream have only the name in common. Both the banana flavor and the cream in both of them are wildly different. I wouldn't recommend people subbing one for the other. LA is a fruity, candy-like banana, the cream of it is just used to thicken the flavor slightly and provide mouthfeel. TFA is more of a bananas foster banana cream, with overripe, soft bananas and a thick, heavy cream.
FLV is getting easier to get a hold of, since Gremlin started carrying most of their line. After Gremlin did so well with FLV, Bull City and Ecig Express started carrying FLV.
Don't mean to sound contradictory if I do, I'd just like to use this list to help update our list of beginner flavors, and would like to make sure the information is as good as we can get it before doing so.
CAP Sweet Mango is fine for a shake and vape but quite disgusting after it steeps. Sweet Strawberry is also one of my favorite strawberries but I guess more people prefer TFA.
i thought it was pretty disgusting as a shake and vape tbh, it got worse as it steeped tho yeah lol. Reminded me of rotting.
Part of the allure is that you can get 4oz of TFA Strawberry for $5 from TFA. That and it uses much less alcohol than CAP, so you don't need to steep. This is big for beginners since we recommend fruit flavors that you can shake and vape until you learn patience.
I just got my first shipment from TFA and got the acai, black currant, dragonfruit, koolada, menthol, pear, and strawberry (ripe)
it's my first diy order actually, just got all the extra funnels and stuff I needed today so I was thinking about trying to mix a few bottles up tonight. I made a spreadsheet and have a few ideas at ratios I think will work, but does anyone have any suggestions based off what I got?
Pear is strooong, I learned the hard way making pear+raspberries
yea haha I had it originally at like 6% but after doing some more research cut it down to 2%. Fruit flavors like the ones I got are pretty much shake and vape right? or do they need a bit to cure?
ye pretty much shake and vape but leaving them to steep is always a bonus u might get enhancements of the flavours or sometimes it mellows them out if they dint become shake and vape. i need to get me black currant cuz i love black currant tea, never tried acai dont even know what that would taste like. hmm i think im gonna try making a strawberry pear dragonfruit flavour! thanks for the idea!
TFA Acai and blackberry I've never tried, but from experience with other flavors, I'd suggest starting them at 2% or 3% as main notes in recipes. Dark berries tend to be stronger than other fruits. As standalones, try 5%.
Dragonfruit is good at 3% in recipes, 5-6% as a standalone, and adding 1% to any fruit mix makes that fruit mix instantly better. TFA dragonfruit is a lot of us experienced users' go to emulsifier.
Pear has a high EtOH content. Smells like nail polish remover. Use it at 1-2% in recipes, 4% as a standalone. Let it steep for a few days before forming any opinions about it.
Strawberry ripe is good at any percentage. For recipes, I like 4%. Standalone should be 8-9%. Use it at 1% to sweeten a fruit recipe.
Menthol and koolada should be added drop-by-drop. They can easily overtake every other flavor. Koolada isn't actually a flavor, but more of a cooling sensation. Try starting at 2 drops per 10mL with it. Try menthol at 3 drops per 10mL.
TFA Blackberry is one of the strongest & most floral blackberries out there from what I've read a million times about it. Proper use of it is like .5% standalone & even less in mixes. Haven't tried it yet myself tho.
Acaí is better than their blueberries. 3 or 5% standalone. 1-3% in mixes. I add it with some FLV Peach to my mountain dew when I dont have FLV Blueberry. Like, 5-8 drops per 40 ounces for either peach acai or FLV Blue.
Only one FW flavour? FW Blueberry over the others imo. In fact for beginners, you should have more FW there as they are the easiest to mix standalone.
While I think they are a great flavor company and I own 10-15 of their flavors, they don't seem to be as prevalent among the community. Thus making it a bit more difficult for beginners to follow along with other's recipes.
Also, blueberry wild + bilberry (2:1 ratio) make the most realistic and delicious blueberry in my experiences
TFA Blueberry Wild should be replaced with TFA Blueberry Extra IMO.
Also, there needs to be specification of which INW Raspberry, as there are two; Koncentrat (Malina), and Wera Garden (WG).
I'm been mixing for about 5-6 months and I've never seen the point in rushing into a big list of flavors. What I've been doing is buying what I need to mix highly rated recipes from this sub that I wan't to try. The downside is I have to wait 3-5 days for shipping when I want to try something new. I only have a dozen flavors in my collection currently.
I do the same in the kitchen. I cook from recipes. I don't experiment.
I guess if you're a recipe creator you will need a large stockpile of ingredients. I suspect that's a small percentage of the people though.
It makes sense if you don't knew what all you like. Or if you like a wide variety of juices.
Or if you don't want to keep paying for shipping.
