Any of you all try that gambit clone on ELR? Well that guy adv_search is a giant twat. Here he is a few months ago doing this shit. I sent him an email saying I would call him out if he did it again, and today is that special day. Here he is again making it really difficult figuring out who it was, as you can see.

Very important edit: Please please please do not 5-star any of these recipes that he/she/it one-starred, unless of course you have tried the recipe and like it! It's not really fair to the other guys with great recipes on the first few pages of ELR

His recipe was #1 for a while. Anytime someone gets near him in 'rank' or overtakes him, he one stars them. Strangely enough he always leaves some sort of comment about how he is going to 'try it' and then leaves the one-star.

There's so much nonsensical shit talking and arguing that happens in the comments on that website, it's hilarious. It's a great resource, but when people try to shit on other people's ratings to make theirs look better...c'mon.

Hey dude! I've been around. Ever since quitting drinking, my posting is a bit more spontaneous! I will have to make myself an ELR account and archive my recipes when I'm not feeling lazy. I was blasted one night and deleted a bunch of shit after some cunty knob wanted to hassle me for something I can't remember...I'm usually a happy drunk. No more of that nonsense though!!

Daath knows about this but it's really difficult for one guy to police a place of 22k recipes. Time wasted on silly stuff like this takes away from him working on useful features unfortunately. All the more reason to consider donating to his site!
I donated $20 last month, and I asked to keep the advertisements. Wasn't my first donation either. I would counter argue that a reporting system would make it easier to manage.
Everything is super easy to code on the backend for one person, too! /s
For what its worth, I think one of the best solutions to this is to remove the ability to rate your own mixes.
People make alt accounts though

I would expect someone to 5 star their own recipe if it is good. A lot of people are using ELR as their recipe storage/calculator. I am going to rate anything I put on there so I can remember how good it was later. I would also 1 star a recipe if it tasted like shit to me whether it was my recipe or from someone else. Nothing against the person that created it, and it may be awesome to everyone but me. But I want to remember that I didn't care for it.
The issue is the multiple accounts and 1 starring recipes just to keep your's at the top.
If someone 5 stars their own recipe, then it tells me the recipe is complete and ready to mix. If someone doesn't rate their own recipe then I may think it's some sort of beta, or it needs work.
Little things like that help me and probably others whether or not they are going to invest the time to mix up someone's recipe.
There's another person one staring everything, the guy that has all the hic recipes. Vvrecipesll or some shit
