The purpose of this thread is to gather the community to explore a flavor and it's many uses.
We're not just looking for you to post recipes you have containing the flavor of the week, but looking for you to share your process as you develop a new juice using the flavor of the week.
This should help us all to better understand how certain flavors interact, and give us all a launching point to perhaps discovering new wonderful recipes. Please post new recipes created using this flavor as well as any and all tasting notes as main posts. Thought process is encouraged also.
This thread will NOT be in contest mode so the best flavors and reviews of those should move their way towards the top.
While I definitely encourage you to branch out with this flavor and use some more rare flavors, I would encourage everyone to keep it in mind that others will not be able to try your recipe and comment or offer assistance if they do not have the flavors you are using. I would also encourage you to use this week's flavor as the "main" flavor in your recipe although this is not required.

Unlike in the previous monthly contest thread, I am NOT limiting this to any specific flavor from any specific vendor. After all, our goal here is to come up with perhaps some unique uses of the weekly flavor or combinations others may not have thought of before. This should allow for maximum participation as well!

Well I love Coconut vapes more than anything else :). I don't have a lot of time to mix so the things I do are probably quite simple. I'm generally using Flavour Art or The Perfumers Apprentice flavours, but my conconut is FA.
Just Coconut: I'm down to 3% FA Coconut in 97% VG (which is 50% VG and 50% AVG @ 15% distilled water from FA), and it/s quite vapable. This is down from the 8% I started at. Simple, not much to say on it's own.
Cocobutter: I vaped some Kings Crown "Claim Your Throne" before mixing. Didn't like the saltyness. I also like Adam Bomb's "Cocobutter Bomb", probably a bot too much. These are mixes of coconut, caramel, butterscotch, and not too hard to make versions of...
Knotty Cocobutter v1: 3% FA Coconut 3% TPA Butterscotch Reasonable shake and vape. Can taste both flavours equally, but with steeping the butterscotch comes to the front.
Knotty Cocobutter v2: 3% FA Coconut 1% FA Caramel 1% TPA Butterscotch 1% TPA English Toffee Reasonable shake and vape, coconut at the front, but the mix of the others make this taste a little like bonfire toffee as it ages.
Other things I'd like to play with...
- There was a recipe on here using basil and lemongrass, but can't get those particular manufacturers flavours in the uk.
- Something along the lines of Mystique "Prometheus". I've heard loads of flavours, but it's about what I taste. Coconut at the front, caramel, almond/marzipan/amaretto (not sure which yet), and definately some Koolada for a cool exhale. Something close is ok, not an exact clone.
- I like the idea of something more savoury, like Korma if you like curry. This is mainly coconut with notes of almond and then some spices as back notes.
- Lastly, something like a peshwari naan. Bready with a sweet coconut/honey and the occasional almond/sultana.
These are more musings than receipes at present, but it's the thought that might help.
OK. I have had an idea for a juice that I'm not sure will convert very well from a real snack. I call the snack "The Bits" it consist of coconut shavings, chocolate chip, and red skin peanuts. I have FLV Peanut Butter, heard its a lot like red skin peanuts. I still have to find a nice chocolate. I have noticed there is a divide in the coconut concentrates that people use.
What's the best coconut that tastes close to dry sweetened coconut shavings? I like the airy-ness and mouth watering feel of coconut shavings. I don't want candy coconut. Help me make "The Bits."
What about Inawera Peanuts for the red skinned peanuts? On my samplings of it, it reminds me of eating peanuts with the skins still on.
That is on my next order. FLV PB smells very close to TFA. Haven't vaped it yet. INW Peanuts has been my guess for 'The Bits.' Thank you for confirming it.
I haven't used it much yet, but from what i have, it certainly has a dry peanut skin aspect to it that i find interesting. I may be off the mark with what little testing I've done with it, but i think it needs something else to give it more of an oily crunchy peanut-y aspect if its going to be a primary flavor note.
Aside from a single flavor test, I've used it as a minor percentage ingredient in a pb cookie recipe i was fiddling with. It certainly added something good to that particular mix, but was not the eventual direction i took and it isn't in my current mix.

As far as chocolate goes, chocolate deutsch FLV rules. Yes it has a cakey note, but it is so moist it is more like melty chocolate than many of the other offerings. It might be worth a shot at a low percentage and work up. Maybe .3-.5 to start. (I am also in the honeymoon phase with this flavor, I've been jamming it in recipes. Please excuse the enthusiasm)
Two questions:
Does it take over a recipe quickly?
Does it kill coils?
P.S. I haven't tasted a chocolate vape that I agree with.
I could see it taking over a recipe at a percentage above .5-1% depending on other flavors. But if you are using FLV for the peanut butter, a few drops should be able to add some chocolate without killing the other flavors. I haven't had it kill coils like some of the tfa chocolates, but again, the percentage necessary is pretty low, so maybe that has something to do with it. Do you have FLV coconut and sweet coconut? You could use them in tandem and keep your flavor total super low. I had pretty much given up on most chocolate flavors before finding the chocolate deutsch. If it works out, post your recipe because it sounds like it would be super tasty.
Not sure if this is the right place, but I don't know where else to comment about it.
But I have been looking for a good Snake Oil clone, and none of the coconut I had been using seemed to work for my taste. Then I bought some Flavorah Coconut. I use it at about 1 drop per 30ml. It's amazing.
I only have LA Coconut. IMO it taste like a coconut candy, without the wet, fake taste. I'm not entirely sure that last sentence made sense, but I'm going to leave it. 0.5% is great for adding just a hint of Coconut to a flavor, and pairs great CAP Vanilla Custard. 2% is a great single flavor, again IMO. ELR recommends it at 4.8% (5%) standalone, but to me it takes on a sun tan lotion taste at that strength.

This recipe is just an experiment, I have not tasted it yet.
Upon smelling (after fresh mix) the caramel and coconut came out similar in strength. I really expected the coconut to be stronger. Also the brown sugar could be a little stronger. In my next attempt I'll decease the caramel to 2%, and increase the brown sugar to 1.5%
The cream base I used is very creamy after a month, maybe even to much. After steeping and tasting I may lower that as well.

Going to try mixing up a coconut-type cheesecake, recently was given the challenge of making a decent tasting cheesecake recipe and I just got in LA cheesecake that I really wanna mess with! I'm not exactly happy with my choice of coconuts though, Coconut candy and coconut extra, they taste super fake. Maybe will try balancing it out with almond and marzipan
Wayne made a pretty good cheesecake base after The Real juice line.
Just sub out the strawberry for whatever you want. I did FA Lemon Sicily last night.

Holy shit mate... no offense but can you actually taste any of those flavors? There is so much going on...
This is just how I like to mix, there's probably a few you could cut out with deductive reasoning. A few that could be removed if needed for a more bare bones recipie could be Cake Batter (up yellow cake) , brown sugar (up meringue), vanilla swirl (up Vanilla custard) , Biscuit (up cookie) , and possibly coconut extra (up coconut candy a bit) . The only reason I say keep key lime, or substitute for any citrus, is to make the cake have an extra note of sharpness that is in most cheesecake.
What is everyones favorite coconut to use? My experience in the two years I've been mixing is only with TFA Coconut and Coconut Extra. Never been a huge coconut guy, but I'm interested in trying some of my recipes with a different coconut.
To start I guess I'd purchase CAP and FA coconut...can someone explain these to compared to Coconut Extra?
As far as I have gathered this week searching this sub is that FA Coconut is more like shaved coconut rather than candy. The thing is, it seems more prominent that mixers like yourself use coconut as an enhancer more than an upright flavor, because they don't like coconut. TFA's Coconut seems to be the most popular, but INW Coconut and FA Coconut seems to be the closest to bagged coconut.

I don't really know how to describe it except its a sweet coconut flavor. My favorite actually. I had to pull all my flavors out to remember which brands each one was so now that they are out I think I'm going to go ahead and make like 90ml more.
