Since when did dried flowers equal grape candy?
I can taste the potential in the grape aspect of this, but I'm trying to find out what is it with this flavor: some say it's great standalone, some say all it needs is a bit of sour, some say it's even better mixed with Grape Juice. No, no and no. Is everyone else missing the unbelievably heavy floral notes this flavor has, or did I just get a dud batch?
I'd appreciate any and all tips with this flavor before I chuck it as a lost cause!
I feel the same as you. The only grape that works for me is INW Grapes. Not floral at all, but potent. 2-3% was just right standalone.
INW Grapes was a little floral to me but not too bad. Nothing like FA Grape Concord.
I agree. But if someone likes grape, INW is prob the best option that I have tried.
INW Grape (I hope this is the same as Grapes) has been in my list since I first tasted this flowery mess. Good to know that there is still hope.

I've done the 7%-10% TFA Grape Candy with 0.2%-0.3% TFA Sour and it was pretty tasty.
Citric acid helps a ton with floraly flavors.
Thanks! I did skim through every grape candy thread here to no avail. I actually tried 9% TFA Grape Candy with 0.5% sour. Pure potpourri after a shake, same thing the next day.
5% TFA Grape Candy and 5% TFA Grape Juice. A slightly juicier and more medicinal potpourri.
I chucked my 10% citric because it gave me ulcers, so I guess that that then.
Weird. Taste is subjective so you are likely hypersensitive to the ethyl butyrate in grape candy.
Wait a minute, now this is interesting. Don't know why I never thought to compare and find offending flavor components, but this also might explain why I have a lot of trouble enjoying TFA's Dragonfruit, Honeydew, Kiwi Double, Pear and VBIC, ever, at all. The same slightly musty floralness in each and every one, flavors that have ruined every recipe I've ever put them in. Oh, I remember when I mixed Kiwi Double and Pear together. It seems that it wasn't just the hexenol (which Grape candy seems to have plenty of, too). That was the only mix so horrible it made me laugh.
Not unlike finding out that you're allergic to something edible. This kinda sucks.
I'm so glad you posted this. Grape Candy was one of the few I hadn't already bought. I had put it on the list after seeing a lot of the same praise. Taking it back off the list now.
