What is your average shelf life for VG?

I just went to DIY some juice last week and discovered that my VG had turned from being very viscous to a consistency more like water.

It still taste like VG, but when vaping the amount of vapor produced is significantly dimished. My though is water get into it, although it is a sealed container. I've only had this 1L container for a few months so compared to other bottles it seems like its shelf life is short.

I ordered a large amount of PG and VG from ED almost 2 years ago. As soon as I got it, I decanted both to large amber glass bottles with polycone caps and put all the bottles in my basement (in box, on floor - so cold, dark place).

I'm getting down to the last of them now, and they're still just as good as the day I got them. Bottom line? As with so many things, it depends how you store them.

Bad bottle seal. My VG stores well for a year as I keep some at a vacation home and rarely tough it.

VG likes to absorb moisture from the air, which is why you should be careful when airing your juices.

shelf life of VG is about 1-2 years, definitely should still be fine after a couple months.
Maybe you left the cap off for a bit without remembering? What brand are you using?

FWIW every batch of EO VG I've ever had was subpar. I also have noted weird max VG blends from others and asked them if they bought EO and the answer was 100% what I expected.

Wonder if their direct VG is better than the Amazon sku.

I don't do anything special with storage for my VG. It just sits in the top of my pantry. I'm down to the end of the quart I ordered over a year ago and it's still good as far as I can tell.

Nudenicotine has good bottles, never had this issue. Definitely sounds like your vg took on airborne moisture, though. You can keep it around to thin out max VG juices if you're not skeptical of the bacteria. It's like adding distilled water, its just not 100% clean.

The gallon I got on Amazon 4 months ago is still good, but it's in a big opaque jug, and I keep it in a box in the dark anyway. I decant into a pint squeeze bottle, also kept in the box with the jug (my DIY box), and it seems fine as well.

VG is hygroscopic, which means it absorbs water from the air. Make sure you have the main supply tightly sealed, and then just pour off a little bit of what you need at a time.

I store my gallon jugs in a cooler, in the coldest room in the house.
