Hi there, I'm trying DIY and every juice I make it just doesn't taste much like anything compared to a commercial one.
Now I'm vaping this:
4% Vanilla
5% Strawberry Organic
7% Chocolate coconut almond candy bar
There is only a subtle taste of coconut, can't taste the strawberry at all.
I tried like 20 times with different aromas and %, I keep the flavor from 7 to 17 % but still no results in taste. I also steep the juices for a minimum of 4 days before vaping.
Most commercial juices have a ton of sweeteners in them, so if new to no Comercial juice that could be why you taste buds don't recognize it as strongly.
Maybe, in fact my friends tell me that they do taste, some good, some bad and some like piss!
And what about this one: ACETYL PYRAZINE, is it worthy to use?
It has a buttery, nutty flavor to it. A few RY4 recipes call for it. I use it and like it. It's strong, esp. if not pre-diluted, so keep percentage low.
edit: from TFA site: "Roasted, nutty, bready and yeasty, with popcorn and corn chip nuances. good for graham cracker flavors (enhancer)"
Don't toss it out...for an experiment, add the same amount of Pg/vg, essentially reducing flavor % in half
I still have to understand, too much flavor it's the same as too little?
I think its more like too much of different flavors cancel each other out. You need to find the right balance between them. Keep in mind I'm no expert at this.
Also it might be the setup you're using, try different flavors do they taste better?
Try simple recipes with a couple of ingredients (e.g. nana cream), before mixing something more complex.
Id start by cutting your %'s in half at least, and also if you are steeping it with heat for four days then that might be too much. But a lot of sweet juices will cancel out all of the other flavors in the mixture, so having too high a % will make it taste bland.
I dont know about your specific flavors but I found that generally, strawberry is weak in a mix and easily overpowered and coconut takes over, as does chocolate from what I found.
Have you tried the chocolate coconut by itself(+vg/pg) before? Do you actually taste chocolate/coconut?
No maybe that's a mistake on my side, I never tried single flavor juices.
You should really mix a small 5-10ml batch of all your flavors alone to understand how they taste then make dual mixes like starberry & chocolate etc etc, and as get an understanding of single/dual mixes you are better prepared for complicated mixes in a sence.
You might be better off mixing small batches of each flavour individually at small %s. Learn what they taste like and how much to add, and then dive into multiple flavour mixes. DIY juice making really tests your ability to taste, and that's something you will pick up along the way.
Just tried another one that was lying around for a week.
TFA Organic Strawberry 7%
Mom&Pop Vanilla Cream 7%
All I can taste is a hint of vanilla, it seems to me like just a warm and sweet steam with little to zero taste.
I got no idea what % to start at with Mom and Pop, but do you have another Strawberry lying around? Maybe TFA Strawberry Ripe? How did you choose which flavors to order? This seems like a strange group of flavorings.
Mom&Pop got it from a friend, the others from chefsvapour.
I have:
TFA
Cubano, Turkish Tobacco, Organic Strawberry, Honey (aka PISS), Chocolate....(bounty flavor)
