I went around looking for stuff on how to clean bottles just out of curiosity to make sure it was a widely known thing and the most of what I've seen just says "Can't do it, get new ones" and this just simply isn't the case.
I didn't really want to reinvent the wheel for this, so I'm just including an article that goes over cleaning perfume bottles (whose contents are stronger, but otherwise identical to eJuice save for a distinct lack of VG while PG is sometimes used in perfuming)

Im gonna have to say you should NOT hit anything with canned compressed air you intend to vape. It will always contain a bitterant to deter idiots like my 19 yo self from huffing it.
Edit: Spelling, I used to huff canned air after all.
Is this a recent thing they started adding? Since when I was young and dumb 20 years ago I didn't notice this.
I only use glass.. but I just rinse them out with hot water, let them dry, and call it a day. I haven't noticed any deformities yet.
Nonetheless, thanks for the link, its good to see how to really scrub them down if needed.
I kinda do the same. Hot water, no soap, then a rinse with ice cold water because in my mind I think it washes away whatsever left from the hot water...bro science. My Ejuice is fine, same as lungs. I do clean plastic with soap and distilled tho.
High school science class reminds me that putting hot glass under cold water is a bad idea.
Glass is great but what about the rubber squeeze tops ? Those seem to retain every flavor no matter how strong or weak the flavor is
I've tried vinegar - alcohol - acid - and nuclear radiation isotherapy and can't get those rubber squeezers clean.
Do you guys just buy new ones ? They are prob cheap
We're supposed to clean them?...
Shit!
I was about to ask the same thing. I just keep refilling the same bottle with the same recipe.
I'm new, but isn't vg/pg water soluble? So wouldn't this mean a little time, soap, and water do fine? I haven't had any trouble reusing my bottles. I do keep the flavors close tho like strawberry recipes in the same bottles and creams are similar.
Glass bottles shouldn't retain smells/flavors if cleaned with mild dish soap. Don't use anything complex with lotions or fragrances. Make sure you rinse very well. I would recommend a final rinse with distilled water to prevent water spots/mineral deposits. I would recommend replacing droppers as the rubber is porous and will degrade over time as well. Reusing a few times probably won't make a huge difference.
As far as plastic, I would recommend replacing them after each use since it's cheap enough. If you want to be more environmentally friendly then go with glass.
not going to lie, but for the hassle, I personally would buy new ones if they were plastic. For glass ones, if it were cheap enough maybe a dollar a bottle, I would buy them as well. Well because it does cost money to get the things to clean them. I believ it would be better if the bottles were like $5+, then this would save some real money.
Unless you're buying soap with gold flakes it costs nowhere near $1 a bottle to clean them. And you probably (hopefully) have dish soap anyways. Or just hot water.
Ecigexpress.com has 30ml glass bottles for $0.70.
No idea how you would completely clean LDPE bottles, as they seem to absorb flavors, but glass bottles are super simple. A good hot soapy soak, then a trip through the dish washer with no detergent or rinse aid, making sure to use the hot wash, heated dry, and sani-rinse options. If they don't come out perfectly dry, a trip to the oven will take care of any moisture.
Tbh I've never seen a flavor carry from taking 30-40 30mls, rinsing with hot water and leaving in a giant pot of water at about 130 Fahrenheit for a few hours and rinsing well. I sell juice and I give my customers a free 30ml for every 5-10 bottles they bring back and once they pile up to like 30 my girlfriend go through this process. Sure this would be awesome for just a few bottles but I'm not carefully scrubbing each bottle when it doesn't really make a difference.
I do all the same stuff here, only my girlfriend is pretty adamant about letting me know when I need to rid the kitchen counter of all those "vape bottles".
If I'm going to be mixing a similar recipe as the juice before, I'll give the bottle a rinse until the smell is nearly gone. If it's completely new, I'll use dish soap and water. But if my roommates all come to me with 4 empty bottles each asking for more juice they go right into the dishwasher.
I use all glass and have cardboard flats with the dividers for 50 30ml bottles. As I transfer one to a unicorn I put it in a "used" flat and once it's full, or I'm feeling energetic I'll rinse each one with hit water individually, then fill and place in a pot. Fill bot and boil on HI for 10 to 30 min. Put upside down in dishwasher rack to dry overnight. Droppers get their own ritual. Who wouldn't re-use bottles? I mean maybe if they're plastic
LDPE bottles tend to hold on to flavors, and simply rinsing them will still leave a strong scent of whatever juice you had in it. my method is to just put in a little bit of isopropyl with some water, shake it up, and dump it out. seems to work very well for me
