Skiddlz: I have a theory (slightly off diy topic)

I was listening to the inthemix podcast the other day and I heard you voicing your frustration that around 2010 your SN all of a sudden was taken everywhere you signed up online.

MY theory is this. IN the last 10 years the name Skittles has become a HUGELY popular gay nickname. Im not saying this to try to offend you. I have done an above average amount of time in jail in the last ten years, and nearly every lockup I have been inside had a least ONE homosexual fellow nicknamed "Skittles". I have also just met a few random ones in a nearby city that has a relatively large gay population.

So my theory is that the prevalence of this name in the gay community and the wide adoption of the internet has caused nearly every variation of the word to be taken.

Like I said, I hope this does not offend you, I just heard you ranting about it on the podcast and expressing your bewilderment as to why all of a sudden you couldnt get your SN anywhere and the theory popped into me head.

I am in no way suggesting you are anything less than 100% hetero and I wouldnt care either way, but I felt like I should tell you my theory.

yeah I really was not bringing that into question. I just thought it was a chance this is the answer to his podcast rant about the sn scarcity.

I think the nickname took on kind of a culture attachment, like porsche for strippers maybe?

on a deeper note, I think the association of the name my have originated with the practice of gays and transexuals using skittles in jail to make lipstick
