First Recipe Post (Butterscotch) - please be gentle
submitted over 9 years ago by ThirdWorldOrder

First off, I apologize for not going into extreme detail with flavor notes. If you have specific questions, I'll try my best to answer them. Generally speaking though, I just mix flavors that I feel will work well together. If there are elements of a recipe that I like, I'll start to add on other layers. Most of the times I am unlucky though and have to start over. Butterscotch is one of those flavor profiles I've tried to make work more often than I care to admit.

Imperial Butterscotch

Ingredient|% :---|---: Bavarian Cream (TPA)|0.5 Butterscotch (Natural) (FW)|4 Creme Brulee (INAWERA)|1 Graham Cracker v1 (CAP)|0.5 Sweet Cream (FW)|1.5 Vanilla Bean Ice Cream (FW)|2 Vanilla Custard v1 (CAP)|4.5

Flavor total: 14%

I wasn't really happy with a lot of the Butterscotch recipes I had been mixing so I went ahead and made one from scratch. There's no chemical/weird taste in this one which a lot of other recipes have.

This is a butterscotch mix with elements of custard and creme brûlée. Butterscotch is not really the prominent flavor per se, so adjust your percentages accordingly if you want it to be more "there".

Aging time is about a week+. Obviously the longer you can wait, the smoother and tastier it gets. Feel free to try it out before a week and it'll still be pretty damn good.

Misc Notes: All these flavors are available at Bull City Vapor. FW Butterscotch (natural) is not the same as FW Butterscotch! Leave out CAP Graham Cracker if you want. FW Sweet Cream and VBIC are quite different from their TFA counterparts. Please keep that in mind if you decide to sub with those (I haven't tried it personally)

Also, if you buy the INW Creme Brulee concentrate, and you like custards, give this one a shot! This is what I have been mixing instead of my original recipe.

Third World Custard v2

Ingredient|% :---|---: Cake Batter (CAP)|1 Creme Brulee (INAWERA)|1 French Vanilla (CAP)|2.5 New York Cheesecake (CAP)|0.5 Vanilla Custard v1 (CAP)|10

Flavor total: 15%

Only one question: does this taste like dirty sacksweat like your other recipes? If so, count me in.

9 points

by ThirdWorldOrderover 9 years ago

Its more of a natural sacksweat.

If you were to describe it, would it be more of a "sitting in a hot room wearing 4 pairs of sweatpants" sweat, or a "just had solo sex and realize how hot I am, so I need to wipe the sweat off of my sack" sweat?

2 points

by ThirdWorldOrderover 9 years ago

Surprisingly, it's more like the sweat you would get wearing your buddies jockstrap all day

is it gluten-free, fair-trade sack sweat?

FW Butterscotch is so hot right now. This recipe looks dope. I recently mixed FW Butterscorch and VCV1 both at 6% with some Swirl and it's an ADV for me lately. So much DAAP I can feel it coming out my pores.

If you like FW Butterscotch, you owe yourself to get the natural version. Very good stuff without the faint plastic taste. Ecig express and BCV both sell it, although only BCV sells INW Creme Brûlée.

INW Creme Brûlée is a fantastic finisher for custard and caramel recipes. I think the $5 price tag has unfortunately prevented people from picking it up on a whim.

As you know Wayne, I try to maximize the amount AP that goes into my mixes. It's soul food for the lungs.

Kind of off topic, but I've been playing with FLV Butterscotch lately. It is really really good, even standalone. I don't own FW butterscotch so I can't compare.

I find most flv flavors to be better than thier competitors when standalone. But in complex recipes have a harder time making them work, unless it's mostly flv. Fwiw.

I've tried just about every Butterscotch out there (TFA, FA, LA, FW, Hangsen) except for FLV. Perhaps when BCV starts to sell it I'll pick it up. Right now though, I'm very pleased with FW natural version.

What percentage have you been using? I got it recently, but haven't had a chance to play with it yet.

Also wondering about FLV Butterscotch percentages. Was hoping /u/notcharlesmanson would have posted a dope recipe for me to use it in but that lazy fucker is slacking.

2016 has started off way too busy for me :( I'm seriously considering taking a week off work just to mix.

Dude. I get it. I normally do 6-7 shifts per week. I've had a few weeks of only 5 and I'm still barely keeping up w "normal people" shit.

First. Congrats on your first post! Unfortunately, these percentages are just way off. Nothing looks right. No worries. You're still an amateur. If you want to know how to fix this, reach out to u/NotCharlesManson.

Thanks much for this. Have been looking for a good creme brulee. Nicoticket is the only vendor which I bought over and over again. Just ordered the creme brulee

by ThirdWorldOrderover 9 years ago

Somebody commented on one of my recipes and said that it had similarities to Nicoticket. I've never had that vendors eliquid before, so I'm not sure how valid the comment is. Anyway, check it out here and see comment #5

Creme Brulee in your TWC? Interesting.. I have some LB CB, ill give it a try in my custard. I dont even know wtf CB is or should taste like. I live in Wisconsin, we only know the taste of beer and cheese..

Creme Brulee is my favorite dessert, ever. It actually tastes like vanilla custard with caramelized sugar on top of it. Pretty eggy stuff and highly recommended.

I use it now in my custard to change things up a bit. I prefer the new recipe over the old, although the new one is headed in a slightly different direction.

I got a bunch of Euroflavors today and planned on a mixing sessions tomorrow so ill give this a go. Creme Brulee sounds fantastic, i need to find a place to try it.

Ive been working on an update to Strawnana Custard using MF fruit replacements, hasnt been easy to nail down because of the longer curing times.

Its fun to change up old mixes but Ill have to finish off TWC V1 pretty quick, i have 6oz on the shelf.

Cheers dude! I made your 3rd World Custard yesterday and am waiting for it to steep. I tried it off the bat and it's really nice.

Looks delicious. Gonna try this though with some subs. Will take your advice on the natural since I love the regular FW Butterscotch, on my next order.

This sub needs more FW love.
