Hey All Just wanting a little help with a Banana custard recipe. I cant work out where im going wrong. Are flavours muted or am I not adding enough? Where im at with ingredients:
Cap vanilla custard V1 6%
TFA Banana Cream 4%
TFA Caramel 2%
FW Sweet Cream 1%
TFA Ripe Banana 2.5%
TFA Graham (Clear) 1%
Im mainly getting the caramel. The smell of bananas is There when I sniff the bottle but the taste isnt? Any help would be appreciated.
Try something like this:
6% CAP VCV1
3% TFA Banana Cream
1.5% FW sweet cream
1% TFA Ripe Banana
1% TFA Graham (clear)
1% TFA caramel

Something to keep in mind with caramel is that it's very strong and better off used as a flavor enhancer, unless going for something along the lines of a butterscotch. I personally use LA caramel and find it dialing in at .75% on a couple of my recipes. Puts that "lip-licking" sweetness in there with that special tint of caramel goodness.
Thanks for the advice! Bit over whelming but I could sub out any infrdiants for say: bavarian cream, vanilla swirl, cinnamon danish swirl etc. Just in case something sparks for you. I will do up 10 mls of your suggestion now and see how It goes. Cheers 👍

No sweat. Feel free to PM me for help later if you want any. Also, it may be a good shake and vape, but anything with CAP VC v1 takes about a month to finish steeping.
Thanks Dream i may do so! I have shake vaped it and banana still seems muted. Maybe ive blown my buds out.. lol. Am hoping I can get a nice adv soon gonna run out of juice! I have a ton of flavours but every recipe I look up im missing 1 ingredient. Gonna do a quick clone to tide me over until I can sort it out. Heated Ultra sonic cleaner in the garage might come out.
Use less ripe banana. > 1% less.
I've even had luck leaving out the banana in a banana custard recipe and adding it later. Custards need longer steep time and banana tends to fade with extended steeping. Thoughts?

Banana is extremely potent. Most times, a small dosage will do fine. If it doesn't taste strong enough, you can always add a drop or two after.
I'd personally invert the custard and banana cream percentages. Reduce Ripe banana to 0.5%. If you think the caramel is too strong try cutting it to 1%. Maybe up the sweet cream to 2% to compensate the reduced custard if you want it creamier.
So:
TFA Banana Cream 6%
CAP Vanilla Custard 4%
FW Sweet Cream 2%
TFA Caramel 1%
TFA Ripe Banana 0.5%
TFA Graham Cracker (Clear) 1%
I like that Hodor ill give that a shot! I have a heap of other vanilla/bake flavours if anything else would work better also. My original thoughts were a a banana caramel custard pie but i fell short lol. Very noob. Have managed to fluke a few nice vapes thid one has me pegged...
Have you steeped this? Custards need a long time to steep. You wouldn't be able to shake and vape this liquid. Saw a reply below about heating it also....don't do that
I will try to steep it naturally and see how it goes. I did put it in an ultra sonic for a couple of hours tem maxed out at about 45c I will try to steep the old fashioned way. Im just getting a bit desperate. Cheers for the info.
Heat steeping can burn of some flavors, especially fruit.
The only thing I've had benefit from a short heat steep was something that had a large amount of TFA Waffle. It has a huge amount of ethyl alcohol in it, or at least mine does. I tried letting it breathe at room temp for 3 days and also swirled and shook it during that time, still really strong. About 5-10 minutes on my cars front defroster on high with the cap off and it was gone and the juice was vapeable for me.
